  2. Wow, great, looks like we get to see how The Penguin got a broken bottle bottom jammed in his eye! Just what I always wanted to know. Seriously, though, hope it's good. It has potential, that's for sure.
  3. Dean, there's no honour among thieves.

  7. ...I liked when Brienne kicked Jaime's butt. That is my contribution to the discussion.
  8. Well, I had to put it somewhere.

The internet's not as anonymous as people may think. This guy might want to try and avoid making so many death threats.

I have this small gleam of hope that this is a joke on him by his parents. They tricked him to thinking that is a way to show someone how you strongly agree with them on the internet, and laugh at every post he makes. He may actually be the nicest least aggressive person on the internet!

Those kind of people freak me the fuck out. Relax god damnit. Life isn't worth the stress...

  10. That's a terrible pun. (Says the guy who tweeted 'Ashes to ashes, rust to rust')
  11. Great, as if they didn't waste enough time already, we're going to have two people with prophetic visions. I'm liking some of the new characters introduced though. Some seem interesting, and I think Dame Diana Rigg was good.
  12. T-Next lives fairly close to me. And now I'm really regretting looking up my secondary school on Wikipedia. I knew about the murder but it seems there had been some pretty tragic deaths since, too. Damn...
  13. Saw this and I'm thinking "Someone has to try playing it backwards, surely..." http://uk.ign.com/videos/2013/04/05/bioshock-infinite-secret-background-music
  14. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. This is a bit of a bizarre one. I know it's regarded as an all-time classic, but it's such an uneven film outside of its 'historical' relevance. I like films that can manage to tell a story within two hours, yet this has some odd pacing with quite a bit of unnecessary stuff alongside some neat compression and condensation of its narrative and themes. Overall, though, it's entertaining and the chemistry between the leads is great, with a lot of amusing moments throughout. And it should be said that the final showdown is also really well-edited. I get the sense that the bit with Butch's first kill influenced those misguided and terrible 'slow-mo, extended death scenes' you see in low-budget films.

  18. OK, now that I have 100%ed the game (though, it doesn't want to accept that and is stuck at 99%) I figure I may as well share my views. Overall, I really enjoyed it. I said it a while go: it's essentially a Tomb Raider version of Arkham Asylum/a Metroidvania game. And I love the Arkham series. For me, I loved the actual pacing of everything, which I think is a hard balance for a lot of games. There are moments where maybe a few too many enemies are thrown at you, but the combat can be such a riotous mess than I don't mind. And I think it nails the combat really well. The cover system is amazing, and works for keeping things frenetic without overdoing it, and the dodge works because it's a desperate scramble that fits the character. I like that you get these 'scenarios' where a little exploration or planning helps get the drop on guys, and you feel like a total badass if you nail three headshots in quick succession...and then two attack wolves after that, just as one is jumping right at you. Or dodging a shield guy and thwipping an arrow into his head straight away. The gameplay is bolstered by the animation and the little things, a lot of which can be taken for granted. It allows you to feel powerful without being overpowered (unless you upgrade the rifle enough) and there's a real 'joy of movement' thing going on. The environments are also really nice, and I made sure to take lots of screenshots. The shipwreck beach, in particular, is an astounding feat of design because you can see this whole landscape which you will eventually traverse, one way or another. It was also fun exploring them to find all the secrets. As for the bad, well there were still too many bugs. I had to restart the entire thing because of one right near the end (that's how much I enjoyed it) and there have been a few crashes since the last couple of patches. On the plus side, the major bugs don't appear to be PC-exclusive, and since Nixxes are responsible for the port (and PC patching is free), they are keeping it updated and working on all the issues. The story itself is 'functional', with a few great moments (usually embedded in the gameplay). It does a fair job of showing this transformation in Lara (that first kill QTE section portrays it well), but the actual gameplay glorifies and glamorises the violence a little too often, so that it ultimately falls flat. tl;dr: I liked it. A lot.
  19. Hmm, I tend to see people use 'random' as a catch-all term for any humour they find a bit weird, regardless of whether they like it or not. The word is way overused. I suspect that's a British thing though.
  20. Kinect Star Wars wasn't actually by an internal studio (nor were the LEGO or Battlefront games ever by internal studios). Most of Lucasarts' recent fare has just been published by them, rather than developed. So, no more publishing or developing, I assume. To the best of my knowledge, Star Wars 1313 was the only new thing they were handling.
