  1. It's a publicity stunt, that's all.
  2. I liked Heavy Rain for the most part, though I'm concerned this is veering more towards the Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy side of things where it just got a bit too ridiculous.
  3. Clue: Arrested Development.
  4. Didn't see this anywhere.
  5. Iron Man Three (that's what it insisted it be called) I'll admit, it wasn't as good as I was expecting. That's not to say it is bad at all - it's actually very entertaining - it's just very...uneven. It felt like a Shane Black film that was also fighting against being a superhero film, if that makes sense. The pathos and drama this time round just felt so forced and lost among the wisecracking, which I know is part of Tony Stark's character, but it extended beyond that as well. And if you stop to give the plot a moment's thought, the sequence of events and motivations, etc. just doesn't add up. That said, it's funny and zips along at an engaging pace, plus it contains some fairly creative action sequences. If you're prepared for a slightly off-kilter superhero film, I think you'll enjoy it.
  6. Don't forget the leery camera angles.
  7. Disagreed with your actions? Miranda Lawson. Didn't always trust you? Miranda Lawson. Far from black and... Damnit, so close... Honestly, though, I think the BioWare writers do a good job with female characters (or, you know, characters in general). It's the overt sexualisation that undermines it all.
  8. It shares a scriptwriter and director with Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. That is the main reason I am going to see the film. Glad to hear that it lives up to that.
  9. The Bridge On The River Kwai. Since I'd watched Lawrence Of Arabia, I figured I'd go for another David Lean (whose films were anything but). This one suffered slightly because I already knew what was coming. That said, it is still a good film and an interesting story with a real powerful, gut punch of an ending. Not sure I can say with certainty that it was too long for what it was (since I was 'waiting' for the finale), but it did feel like it could've been a lot tighter at points, and there is a real abrupt focus shift that upsets the pacing a little. Also, for good or ill, you get this stuck in your head. "Madness! Madness..."
  10. Well, I actually bought Resistance 2 based on the multiplayer after participating in the beta. It was probably quite repetitive, but I was damn good at it, so I enjoyed it. Plus, it was pretty hectic with 16 odd players in co-op, so it was unlike any other games I'd played. Did about two levels of single-player and got bored. I am not big on FPSs either, unless there's some sort of co-op or decent multiplayer, I guess.
  11. Stranglehold, fuck yeah! Also, it killed the hotlink to the left.
  12. If it walks like a female, talks like a female, looks like a female...then it's a duck.
  13. I can think of lots of great female characters, but they are not usually the protagonist (unfortunately).
  14. Hmm, I think I can figure out who R and L and J are... Interesting...
  15. Eh, they still paid the iron price for the info, I reckon.
  16. You're a shifty mod, Ethan.
  17. Not sure how much this affects the US folks here, but figured it was worth sharing. http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2013/04/senate-passes-online-sales-tax-by-74-20-vote/
  18. Dame Diana Rigg. Yeah, I said it before but she is real good. Having her and Varys in scenes is great.
  19. Whatever, Ethan, I still think less of you. Sorry.
