Seeing Alien at the time it was released probably would've been pretty cool, even without being aware of the chestbursting surprise, because there's the bit where the tough guy goes to be tough but then you see that he's not so tough and it's like, "Oh, crap! The tough guy was not so tough after all!" And then that dude turns out to be a robot and he tries to choke Ripley in a pseudo-sexual way. And then there's that cat who is just like, "No way, dude, that thing's dangerous. I'm going over here." And then it's the woman who is the smart one. That was my summary of Alien. Thank you for reading.

These are old now, but I didn't see them until recently and they made me lol like the ones before so I figured I'd share in case you also missed them, like me, too, as well, like I did. "I'M KIDDING!" "Ha! No.. I'm ready to Kil'a bitch."

LEGO Indiana Jones, I found the most frustrating. Simply because it has loads of guns and rocket launchers, making fighting unenjoyable (and frequent). Star Wars could be a little annoying in that regard if you weren't a Jedi. At least in Batman you could hold down the batarang button, which I believe makes you invulvnerable while aiming, and then target the goons shooting at you.

I've not really been playing anything but I started going through Gears of War 3 with a couple of friends, when they're free, since I'd not done it co-op yet. Lambent enemies are such a pain in the arse to fight and the game starts with them as well. Gunkers are annoying as hell, Drudges take forever to die and grow arms when you think they should be dead (and one variation leaves a fire-breathing snake thing after it dies), all the enemies explode upon death, and you always have to look out for the pods on stalks and make sure you destroy them as early as possible. I mean, I know my friends probably weren't quite up to playing on hard, but just those design decisions alone really ruin the experience regardless. Though I guess they do make you hate the Lambent...

I think they knew.

Game of Thrones (Current episode spoilers)
Hot Heart replied to Can's topic in Entertainment Exchange
Was telling my friend how some of the violence differs between the first book and season one. He's seen the show and is currently reading the book and got worried about spoilers, so I reassured him with 'Events are the same, only the maims have been changed'. -
Revengeance is a dish best served cold. Then reheated.

Forgot to put that I saw Star Trek (2009) on TV the other day. I'm not a big Star Trek fan and I'm sure the ad breaks didn't help things, but I couldn't get into it. It didn't really contain anything I'd expected, given what I'd seen of Star Trek, and maybe that was the point. It was just the Kirk and Spock Show, really. The time-travel stuff was a bit 'uhh...' and the villain was kinda boring, but I suppose it was entertaining blockbuster fluff, and I watched it all.

Well, I think it would be a bit weird to take this one example as an overall design decision. Since I'm sure you could find a comparable AC example. The way I see it, the mission makes sense in that this guy has bodyguards, and I think dying in a traffic accident would've been pretty anticlimactic in a way. I guess you could argue it would be cool to casually saunter over and just grab the guy to 'deliver the message' but it was a demo of various elements of the game: distraction, surveillance, hand-to-hand combat, cover mechanics and shooting (and explosions). Maybe people were focusing more on the fact that there was shooting, but I thought the animation and such looked great and I like that chaotic style of battle in a sandbox. Reminded me of GTA IV online, which could be really cool when it clicked, mixed with Uncharted 3 (without bullet sponges).

Ethan, has Assassin's Creed taught you nothing? It's never that simple... Although, while I think of it, it is interesting that there is a character that appears and hands you a gun. I mean, it's not as if one couldn't be snuck in or whatever.

A leak from the extended edition (showing a particular asset at work)

I never fought anyone besides bosses in Deus Ex: HR, but my mission was generally infiltration not assassination. There is no option there.

Well, it seemed to look like he got pretty badly hurt from leaping the car bonnet/hood to take out that one guy, so I'm hoping it's more in-line with Deus Ex: HR, where it's about picking your fights...or at least being very careful during them.
