  1. "People might just need a little 'old-fashioned'."
  2. Ah, that's pretty cool. With Tywin and Cersei, I know Charles Dance grew up in the south while Lena Headey is from the midlands but doesn't use that accent, and I don't think she has for a long time anyway. Fuck knows what accent Peter Dinklage is doing but it's aiming south...
  3. Hehe. Well, Subway pretty much saved the show, so I can let those moments slide. Although, it was a shame that Big Mike's role was pretty much reduced to 'Subway salesman'.
  4. Hmm, I may have to grab Prototype 2 when it's cheap enough. I really liked the first one. The story and character stuff was garbage but the actual gameplay was loads of fun. With the story looking pretty rubbish, I didn't see what the sequel could bring to improve it. I certainly don't expect a compelling world...not that Infamous 2's was ever that compelling, speaking relatively.
  5. Oh, I had a thought about the show inspired by the accent stuff in the EvE thread. I don't know how apparent it is to American audiences, but a lot of the English actors portraying Starks speak with 'northern' British accents. I'm guessing that might have been a deliberate casting choice, though I don't think it is all encompassing.
  6. Oh, god, that album cover. What were they thinking?
  7. The Losers. It probably helps that I didn't go into expecting too much but it was good. I liked a few of the actors in it and they all did well. Chris Evans was pretty funny and Zoe Saldana was smokin' hot. I think some of the bad guy stuff was a bit 'misjudged', not so much the making-you-hate-him part but the corny element to it. Though those bits had some great moments and there was a lot of good interaction between the characters. Helped you forget the slightly weird plot.
  8. Yeah, I know some games have that capability but it is not as ubiquitous as I'd hoped. Basically, I want Halo's theatre mode (free camera and everything) for most games...but with that YouTube connectivity included for free (because it isn't in Halo's case).
  9. Great story, Kenshi. Reminds me that I really wish more games had a theatre mode. If I really wanted anything from next-gen it would be some kind of theatre mode, for single and multi-player, in pretty much every game, along with an 'upload to YouTube' option.
  10. Cary Grant is awesome. I keep checking to see if Arsenic and Old Lace or His Girl Friday are in that cheap 'sweet spot', but they never seem to be.
  11. I didn't notice any of those things. What's wrong with me?

  13. Phones with a cover over the buttons that flips down ARE THE FUTURE. WHOOOAA!
  14. The sparer the better tends to be my personal preference. I find Martin's is a decent balance for the type of story. I think you hit the nail on the head, P4. Can't stand Tolkien, myself.
  15. I'm finding the first book alright. As I think I said elsewhere, the prose is perfectly serviceable. Occasionally great and clunky in equal parts. The show doesn't help any claims of male chauvinism/sexism with its 'sexposition' but I can see how it weaves a more complex perspective than something like old pulp stories. Men and women alike are victims of gruesome deeds. I could be very wrong with regards to some of the interpretations but Arya seems almost like the typical 'prodigal child', probably helped by the 'connection' she shares with Jon whose role screams that. And then there's Daenarys who develops along her own arc as a forceful character...much like Catelyn Stark. ...basically, what Dex and Kenshi said.
  16. More shopping for another sister's birthday, some DVDs: - Drive - Superstar - Gigantic And because these were £3, got them for myself: - The Losers - Bringing Up Baby
  17. "Murder" "Employment." ...but then they manage to top that! "Some men are coming to kill us. We're gonna kill them first." My friend says: This isn't a teaser. It's a synopsis.
  18. Hehe. I'm serious. I expect a higher standard from Eurogamer!
  19. I'd imagine a games journalist does.
  20. "If you walk on that blackened tile and then I go over here, the fire will not reactivate. I am 99% certain of this."
  21. Because some of the puzzles are physics-based, I'm sure, at some point, my friend and I must have brute-forced our way through one without understanding it. Also, the game slightly alters all the puzzles depending on whether you're in single-player or multi-player, further confusing things.
  22. I'm sure I've said it multiple times before but...Guardian of Light is really friggin' good. And if you do get it, hit me up for some co-op times! I'll try and remember the controls and 'pretend' like I've forgotten the puzzles.
