  1. Sites like Backloggery make a distinction between 'beating' and 'completing' so, sure, why not? Well done, dude!
  2. I Love You, Phillip Morris. Well-made film, based on a true story. It's fairly funny, usually based on ridiculous circumstances, and has some good performances. For example, the two men are trying to have a romantic dance after 'lights out' while sharing a cell in prison, with Phillip having handed a CD to a guy in the next cell over with a CD player, who promises to play the whole song ("My word is my motherfucking bond!"). You see the two dancing peacefully, while you can hear the other inmate shouting and swearing at the prison guards telling him to turn it off, who eventually charge in and start fighting with him.
  3. Sonic Generations. Overall, it is a pretty enjoyable game. It definitely has some frustrating lows, but the fantastic highs outweigh those. It's just a shame it has terrible framerate drops on my PC, regardless of graphics settings. Chemical Plant Zone is almost unplayable and Crisis City has some really bad design worsened by these (which also occur at critical moments on a few other levels). Gameplay-wise, it definitely takes some getting used to, particularly how modern Sonic controls (for someone new to 3D Sonic, like me, anyway), but is a lot of fun once you get the hang of it. The bonus challenges are a great way to practise with some of the mechanics (except for the odd crap ones) as well as introducing some new elements, and I've found myself pushing for S ratings on all the levels now.
  4. This year has not been great, as far as life goes...but at least there were good games and a wonderful community here. Here's hoping you're all well and, if I don't see to you in the meantime, have a great Christmas and a happy new year!
  5. Steam gave me a copy of Hard Reset for mugging Santa Claus with my vehicle-mounted machinegun. I might be on the naughty list now...
  6. Haha. "In all matters of language, defer to David Mitchell. If he is unavailable, please try Stephen Fry."
  7. Just seeing. Because I'm torn, personally. I'd probably say 'a historian' but 'an historical event'
  8. OK, thanks! Now...would you say 'a historial event' or 'an historical event'?
  9. Goddamn, if Egg Dragoon in Sonic Generations isn't the worst thing I've played all year. Shame, because it could've been really good if not for some crappy/cheap design.

  10. I know the logic behind it, I was asking for personal input.
  11. I agree with you on those. I guess it varies from word to word (or even sentence to sentence).
  12. I never really had a problem on normal. Only tricky bits were the dragon section at the start and a couple of bosses, but I figure those are meant to be a bit tougher. Although, one of the bosses was a pain because of how it was set up and felt a bit cheap (I'm sure this has been discussed before, but it's all spoilery). You just have to be patient in a lot of fights, really; keep moving around and only strike when you know you can get a good hit in. ...and I actually set the QTEs to easier versions, 'cause no way am I fucking around with that crap.
  13. Again, this is not a mispronunciation thing; it may be an English vs. English thing, or even a generation thing. Anyway... I've noticed there's sometimes a difference between whether people use 'an' or 'a' before words beginning with H. (Besides the obvious instances with words like 'honour' and 'hour'). I mean, would you write 'an historian' or 'a historian'? Obviously, the H is sounded but it is much softer than in other words. Personally, I can't actually decide which I prefer. The former, to me, sounds a bit weird when said aloud (unless you make the H completely silent), while the latter sounds a little clumsy.
  14. If I recall, the PC version does not have widescreen visuals either.
  15. She needs to see more than just the keyboard. You cruel, cruel man.
  16. Ha. Oh, right. I thought you'd put it in front of a head. Didn't realise you were blinding your sister with it.
  17. It's not 'in action' unless it's sitting on a head. Boooooo.
  18. If you're looking to amuse little'uns this is always good for a laugh. http://elfyourself.jibjab.com/
  19. Whoops. Forgot to mention that I grabbed some DVDs for myself because they were cheap. Nearly grabbed The Frighteners on BD but decided I should curb my spending. - Uncle Buck - Cold Souls - I Love You, Phillip Morris - Batman Returns (I wanted a christmassy film )
  20. Possibly, we need to more people to weigh in so we can get a scents of the thing.
  21. I use aerosol. I do not get on with roll-on. Fortunately, I don't really sweat much. I'm sure most people I know use aerosol.
