  1. Today was the last day of my Sunday job. Kinda sad to leave but then I remember the actual work, especially at this time of year.

  2. Amazing. Such a classic. Got pretty much everything you could want from a punk/ska song. Brilliant album too.
  3. I'd hate it to look like I'm showing any support for Cameron, but the legal system is based on Christian values. In that sense, it is a moral guide. Then again, who says morality appeared with Christianity...
  4. The REAL first chord of 'A Hard Day's Night' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AvxPc5MPEuQ

I dunno. I'm more interested in the opening to "Just Dropped In" by Kenny Rogers and the First Edition.

Apparently George Martin had said there was piano in there as well. Battra, that is just a few things reversed. Which had already been done, perhaps most notably on The Beatles' 'I'm Only Sleeping' and Hendrix's 'Are You Experienced?'

"Rain" by The Beatles was (I think?) the first example of using backwards sound, and is one of my favorites.

  5. First image does not work. As for the other two...why? Are you trying to buy them for all systems?
  6. I'm not 100% sure that's the case. But, anyway, my main point was that usually picking Paragon means you get to be the hero and everything turns out hunky-dory. Usually you are in complete control of a situation, right to the end.
  7. Let us not forget that bit where there is what appears to be a scaredy Asari mercenary and the Paragon choice is to let her go...only to later discover she was actually a cold-hearted killer. Damn, that was sneaky.
  8. Figured we might as well keep putting them all here: Sonic Generations Deus Ex: Human Revolution Batman: Arkham City
  9. I suppose I should put this here: http://pressxordie.com/2011/12/15/my-game-of-the-year-batman-arkham-city/
  10. My dumb brain just went "I'm making them all friendly. That's good, right? It's in blue. Gotta be good" and then later "Brainwashing, what?"
  11. No, I think it only gives you that binary choice. LOL!
  12. I see my Batman: Arkham City article was so like Batman that it was up on the site three days before you even knew it was there. =p pressxordie.com/2011/12/12/my-game-of-the-year-batman-arkham-city/

Arkham City was a great game. But it's only game of the year material if you glide around talking like chronic-smoker batman and making bad puns

That's two different Batmans (Batmen?), that's double GOTY right there!

I believe it was, but for meme purposes a missile is effectively a 'bigger, deadlier arrow'.

  13. Funny thing was, I did not truly 'roleplay' this. Effectively, I 'gamed the system' (possibly an idea for an article there, although I'm sure others have touched on this before). I figured there's no way they'd have the Worst Ending Ever as a possibility in the first part of a game trilogy and the dialogue seemed to imply that the real cirumstance was about incurring greater losses for the Alliance Navy i.e. humans. For a lot of people, he was Carth. That was reason enough.
  14. As for the whole relationships thing, they may not have fleshed it out but I'm sure people like interpreting things themselves. I wouldn't say it's anywhere near 'in-depth' but it's enough for people to latch onto. For example, take Kieron Gillen's bit on Zaeed in here: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2010/05/20/messiah-complex-prt-1-leaving-mass-effect-2/ With regards to Ashley, there's also the fact that she has literally 'let her hair down', which may suggest she has removed the stick from her cloaca. Anyway, it's all harmless. Enjoy your own game.
  15. Referring to people with the word 'common' usually denotes that you consider yourself above them. I've never really considered that sort of a language as lower-class, more for people who like to play with words, make them sound more casual.
  16. P4 is Britta! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmFwD2n7Ojg This isn't really a mispronunciation thing, and I don't think it's an English vs. English thing, but I've heard people pronounce 'details' as 'd-tails' as opposed to 'dee-tail' as in 'retail'. And I have to admit, I kinda like it.
  17. Did some more Christmas shopping. This time, for another sister who, once again, only listed DVDs and CDs. I went a little off-track with half of the choices but I know she'll like them, and it's nice to have surprises: - Submarine on DVD - Waking The Dead: Series 2 - The Science Of Sleep (she likes Gael Garcia Bernal, and I think she'd like this) - Morning Glory (a film with Rachel McAdams, Diane Keaton and Harrison Ford, from the writer of Devil Wears Prada. She'll like this)

  19. Strangehold on 360 for UK peeps for 97 pennies http://www.gamestop.co.uk/29887_Xbox_360_Stranglehold.aspx Well worth it.
  20. I wouldn't have a problem with him dying, but I get the feeling it might all be a tease and it's essentially about finally being able to retire 'The Bat', with Gotham now 'saved'. EDIT: And, yeah, the Batwing does look kinda weird. It looks sort of like Jack from Gears of War, or the things from Batteries Not Included. OBLIGATORY: I trust Nolan.
  21. I guess you can say it has aged well graphically, even though the PC version did get a little 'bump', but pretty much everything else is still the same.
  22. Actually, it came out in 2007. It is over four years old.
