  2. Oh, I'm looking forward to this as well. http://gdc.gamespot.com/video/6301555/ Some things look different, but with co-op and such it should be fun.
  3. Haha. I must see that full sentence!
  4. Play.com were selling loads more stuff for £5 each so I grabbed some DVDs: - Fifteen Storeys High: Series 1 & 2 - The Naked Gun trilogy I was tempted by more stuff but figured I'd try and save some cash. Plus, I think I'm gonna grab the complete Frasier collection quite soon.
  5. I don't think the Wii's intended audience and what HotChops is talking about are the same thing.
  6. I'm also interested in seeing this. I don't expect it to be great, but it should be worth watching. ...and I just discovered James Gunn has already written a script with similar ideas to one I am currently working on (mine is different though!).
  7. I'd say it's because Olivia Munn knows nothing about games but I get the feeling a lot of it is down to a personality clash. David Jaffe always seems pretty abrasive and he said he was pretty beat; I can't imagine having some airhead trying to joke around got on his good side.
  8. Ask him if he's circumcised... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIUt-a7iKac
  9. From a quick glance, I think he certainly has some valid points. I'll have to give everything a proper read when I'm not at work because this sort of thing really interests me.
  10. You look really good for someone born in 1939. Kudos.
  11. Oh, I'm cautiously anticipating X-Men: Destiny. Some of the stuff sounds interesting, and it's being written by Mike Carey (who I felt had a pretty good run on X-Men not too long ago).
  12. Alternatively, Crytek leak it to then blame pirates and hopefully earn some sympathy from the general public and gain more full-price sales. Crytek Conspiracy Theories. Story @ 11
  13. http://www.howlongtobeat.com/ May be of interest, although possibly unreliable.

Immediately my friend goes: 'It won't let me submit 1400 hours for World of Warcraft'

  14. Maybe. I'm not sure it's supposed to be an out and out funny film (even though the trailer mentions it's from the producers of Shaun of the Dead) but maybe a mixture of a few different elements you might see in other films of its ilk while being aimed at a younger audience. If that makes any sense... The closest comparison I could make is that Charlie Brooker's Dead Set was not funny, like some might have expected (nor was it that good anyway), because he was aiming to tell a story rather than gags.
  15. As far as I recall, R2 had some sort of perks in MP already. And the number of players stuff was all bullshit anyway. Just seemed like 8v8 in the bigger matches and all you did was run between 2-3 areas, facing the same people every time.
  16. How has it gone CoD-like? Has it gotten rid of the alien weapons?
  17. Ah, I see what you mean. Sounds like he was tricked as well. It's certainly interesting when a game puts you in a role like that though.
  18. Yeah, exactly that. Who thinks stuff like 'When I started having sex I realised maybe my internet handle just wasn't cool enough and people might think me a homosexual' and yet still winds up with Destiny anyway?
  19. I've not played it (yet) so I may be wrong, but I never thought it was arguable. Sounds like, if you pay a little attention, you'd realise that the Colossi go about their business peacefully and it's you that disturbs them.
  20. Written and directed by Joe Cornish of 'Adam & Joe'. Attack The Block or 'Chavs Versus Aliens'.
  21. I'd already said I thought it was good. I just felt the gameplay was a little lacking.
  22. I never played the first but a friend and I got hooked on the co-op beta for the second. It was actually quite fun when playing with a bunch of people who had no idea what they were doing. I remember one instance where I was a Spec Ops all by myself, fighting backs dozens of the charging zombie dudes (grims, I presume) and the flying robot things for ages and right before I would've died my friend shows up as a Medic and makes everything alright. There were quite a few times where we were left keeping the team going. So, yeah, we wound up playing co-op in the full game a lot. I had gotten really good at Spec Ops while my friend was a prolific Medic (we usually fought for top spot on the leaderboard). I think the mode worked really well in terms of the classes, scoring and overall design. I tried the campaign but it just didn't interest me. It started off pretty dire in that underwater base or whatever and even included some annoying pseudo-platforming. The bit in the woods was pretty atmospheric (the cloaked dudes were dumb though) and I think I just got bored with it shortly after that. I haven't really read anything about the third but if it has a similar co-op mode I may grab it at some point.
