  1. LEGO: Marvel Superheroes It got cheap.
  2. Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. Reached the "I'll bite" price (thanks, savygamer!)
  3. Not really a big selling point, but it can actually be played solo. There are 'story cards' that give you different goals, with a solo play one that has you choose one of the three (earn 15,000, become solid with all contacts or proceed through 20 misbehave cards) and has its own mechanic (20 turns) and special setup (pick your crew up to a certain value, etc.) Would probably get boring after a while though. The big complaints I've seen are playtime (story cards have estimates, but seem to be for more familiar players), especially when playing with 4 or even 5 (with the extra promo ship that I got) and a general lack of player interaction. On the plus side, things should go quicker once you get the hang of it (or you enjoy the theme enough that you don't mind 3+ hour games) and there is an expansion due next year called Pirates and Bounty Hunters, which seems to promise a lot more player interaction. You can play as lawmen or even Jubal Early and hunt wanted characters or possibly even set bounties/warrants on other players' crew. Sounds pretty interesting.
  4. Guess what game arrived today (hint: it's not Halo)!
  5. Yeah, I think Civil War was meant to be more balanced originally, but it's just...not. So many crossovers and such a waste of time for everything to descend into a big punching match. House of M, Civil War, Secret Invasion. Big Bendis events that put me off following mainstream superhero comics.
  6. To be honest, outside of Invincible, I'm not really a fan of Kirkman (and even Invincible pushes it at times). Irredeemable Ant-Man I gave up on after a couple of issues because it just bored me. Having an asshole sort of superhero is a cool idea (I'm working on something in that vein myself) but this lacked any sense of humour whatsoever and the story was just...non-existent.
  7. So, Paul Rudd is Ant-Man (slappa da bass, antmon!). I'd say that's a good pick. Will Arnett would've been a good pick if they were going for the (crap) Kirkman Irredeemable style, but I guess it's a good job they didn't. Also, this.
  8. Yeah, though that's not to say the new AD was bad at all. The one thing I'd really want is a Telltale Games take on Firefly. Definitely not some Borderlands 2 shit (I totally typoed that as Boredrlands first...)
  9. There's supposed to be a lot more of the Russian and Chinese stuff in the deleted scenes (or an extended cut?). And while the US box office performance was OK, the film did really well in China, so definitely going to be a sequel. I was actually saying that there may be a trend of Hollywood blockbusters attempting to target the Chinese market some more. A few producers have said studios are encouraging it (see the next Transformers: Dinobots Or Whatever Who Gives A Shit). On that subject, Joss Whedon should add a Chinese crew member and cast a major Chinese star in hopes of getting Serenity flying again. Screw you, Chewie!
  10. Ah, I remember that song. I liked it, but tried to drum it in Rock Band and just couldn't grasp it. Of course, I must have improved a lot in the meantime but never went back to attempt it (I just had way too many songs...)
  11. Oh, I got the college football part. Just not the 'joke' part. DO HO HO HO HO HO HO
  12. Haha, yes, gmcfosho is an ooooold thing. Always nice to see it again though. He has so many hilariously bad songs.
  13. First one was actually really good ("Fuck you, science!").
  14. Not sure this warrants its own thread (yet?) but looks like there is going to be a Firefly game after all. Seems to have been announced a little while back, but the first I heard of it was the other day. Due to arrive Summer 2014 on Windows, Mac, Android and iOS (with your account carrying across for whichever, should you wish for portability). It's called Firefly Online but is a single-player RPG with social features like trading, rescuing, creating quests etc. None of that 'invite 5 friends to get your ship an engine'. Will have a bunch of customisation options as well as crafting, and it seems like it'll have a turn-based combat system in the X-COM mould (or the option to try and smooth-talk your way out if you fancy). It actually doesn't sound half bad. Though, obviously, there's not much to go on right now besides that brief and a few bits of concept art and development shots (that io9 handily put into a big article). I wouldn't go expecting anything wildly complex, of course, because it's probably not been given a massive budget; plus, it says the Android and iOS versions won't seem 'stripped-down' (though that seems to be feature-wise)...
  15. Me too...of the two I've played fully. Been meaning to do some more U3 (co-op) MP sometime. Love that medal 'SHING!' sound.
  16. Totally. Plus, I'd have to disagree with MalH about 3 doing the pacing and action stuff better. Not that 3 was bad, but there's that whole ship bit that was a complete waste of time (and the running from water bit was p lame) and (at least) twice the story has to resort to conveniently plonking you in the right place for the next bit.
  17. I definitely enjoyed 2 way more than 3, in pretty much every way (note: the team that made the second was working on The Last of Us while the third was being made). And for me, the third was full of bugs. Never was able to replay the horse level without something fucking up somewhere.
  18. Preparing for the Firefly board game by making reference sheets for the Chinese exclamations/curses used and how to pronounce them. =p

Nuh uh! Swearing is cool, you poopyhead!

  19. Hmm, maybe it's just the lighter colours or something, but I much prefer the original. That one really has character.
