  1. I did the same with my wife. But with Persona 3. She loves RPG heavy stories, but dislikes Jrpgs(makes her think of turn based heavy games like Final Fantasy). Told her about P4. She doesn't want to play it. Afriad it'll make her sad against (yes, I told her it was different). She's also distracted with Gravity Rush.
  2. I guess it depends on the persons personality...obviously. It usually doesn't bother me. Unless it has to do with a story heavy game Man was I peeved that I had to REPLAY all of P4G to get the best ending. I did enjoy it though lol
  3. It took me long enough. ::stares at the number of pill bottles in his "pill bottle bag"::
  4. I would love to get on this next time.
  5. I know some who'd argue you on the point that DA:O and ME are casual(oh, by your definition. Not mine) ::looks around:: Oh...me. Damnit! DA;O as much as a I loved it...was pretty "streamlined" when compared to previous Bioware titles(And I don't mean KOTOR and Jade Empire). It was supposedly the BG spiritual successor. Well...it was pretty "dumbed down" in comparison(I'm using that worse jokingly) One could argue, "Well! Times had changed since the late 90s/early 2000s!" Still streamlined. I've been gaming since I was just a babe. Used to drool on the controller as I leveled up my...anyway. I get what you're saying. Just wanted to nitpick on that comment. I'd argue the "fall"(opening the doors for a wider audience. Streamlining things) of Bioware was showing it's head before the merge with EA. I believe it started to show with Kotor and Jade Empire. Dragon Age also was pretty advertised. With all the blood and such. Silly....so, I feel it's just as casual as Bioshock. I'm willing to be many, many who jumped into DA:O would get lost with Baldur's Gate. Just like many would get lost in Ultima Online who played Final Fantasy XI/Everquest. And hell...Bioshock is the most ironic game to compare Dragon Age with. They BOTH are "Spirtualized successories"(haha I thought that was funny! Oh...it wasn't? ok...). Just felt like arguing. Bring up the past. Nostalgia. God, I miss Baldur's Gate. I need to play it some time.
  6. "You have reached your quota of positive votes for the day" I'm sorry I'm a nice guy, Dean. I'M SORRY!

  7. @TC Don't feel like quoting your novel It wouldn't surprise me that much if the Xbone doesn't reach 10mil(I mean it might, but it has more ground to cover) but the ps4 just needs to sell 1.6 million consoles. I'm pretty sure it can. I honestly have no idea why you are comparing the ps4/xbo sales figures to JULY of 2008!? The 360 release in late 05. Why not compare the 06 numbers? That would make a bit more sense me thinks. I tried to look up numbers or find fancy graphs, but I stopped after a couple of minutes...because I really, really need to take a bath. Feel free to do a comparison on 06 and go, "VECHA! gaming is OVAAAA!" (Edited to add: is it because 05/06 wasn't global?) Found this though http://www.dualshockers.com/2014/02/18/ps4-is-selling-so-much-faster-than-ps3-ps2-and-ps1-that-its-not-even-a-competition/ Could be fudged numbers I don't know. Honestly, I think the worse that could happen is the industry shrinking a tad bit. We do see sony's push for Indie/smaller games. Gaming has been delayed to 2015(kidding). And what's wrong with seeing a few more multiplats till 2015? But what I really think? Sony will get 1.6 million or MORE by xmas. People go bat shit insane on Black Friday and the weeks leading to xmas. And if all else fails....at least I have FF XIV: A Realm Reborn.
  8. And Joe SixPacks! We can see Russia from here, you betcha. ... What were we talking about again? Oh. Welcome Lelouch...Does that name me Lol ouch... Like BAHAHAHAHA!.....ouch...I'm sorry I laughed. Or...Le Louch...as in...someone named louch. And he has a The...because he's the only one. -uses google- Oh...That, Well....welcome Mr. Lamperouge!
  9. Yeah, most of the time they are a waste. Now, I don't mind pieces focusing on how gaming has effected someone's life. I enjoy those...but when it's at the begin of a review, most of the time, it feels forced.
  10. "HEY EVERYONE LISTEN TO MY VOICE! I'M A DEV! I MADE THIS GAME! THANK YOU!" Tactics look...decent. I dunno. I'll wait and see.
  11. I used to argue a lot about DA:O vs. 2...but I guess I just don't care anymore. It taught me to never, never, ever get hyped for a game again. Seems some learned that from ME3(though...getting a ME3 fan to agree that DA2 is similar in that regard...ha!). Don't believe some dev telling you that everything is magical. Don't even listen to revieiws. Listen to that guy on Youtube yelling at the top of his lungs...yeah...he's the one to listen to* *No. Don't even listen to him. Or her.. I'm not sexist. I married a woman.
  12. I agree with you in ME. ME2 and 3 are vastly better games, from both gameplay and storytelling perspectives than the original. They sure are. I say we remake Baldur's Gate(or just call a new game BG3?) but with better gameplay. But by better gameplay, I mean hack n slash. 'Cause I mean...they were trying to have them hack and slash at one another right? XD
  13. I just got finished arguing with a fanboy that said, "The xbox fan base is upset that Bungie has done this to them. The beta deal with Sony is a slap to the face...the xbox fanbase built their house." Guy/girl has to either have the IQ of a pig, or a teenager. Ok..maybe a arrested developed 20-something-er.
  14. Welcome Delphox. Didn't even see your first post. And what happened to sexydude420? I missed his post(s) too.
  15. You take that back you damn redcoat! Don't make me let you burn down our White House again!
  16. A real FPS-Tard wouldn't even give two shits about playing anything but the following: His favorite FPS Series(which can change generationally) and its sequels.
  17. Except for those who work in the games industry? Even the ones who make shit money(My point here is there are "shit" job in both the films and literature industries) Reading harry potter and like the like is a "hobby"...but actually making your ass write, and keep writing to make sure you can actually turn out something that isn't complete shit, is a job. I think Gaming is close to mainstream, but can argued to not be quite there yet.
  18. I think I have a FFXI complete edition code...in case someone wants to try and use it. And play a decade old game.

  19. I didn't enjoy CIV V more than CIV IV for a few little reasons, but the political system was not one of them. And many of the issues I didn't like were pretty much fixed with the expansions as noted by Ethan. Though...I still rank CIV IV higher...mostly for nostalgic reasoning. However, I did not ever feel that CIV V was dumbed down for FPS-Tards. I know some "FPS-Tards" and I'm pretty sure CIV V is still a bit more complex than COD.
  20. Ethan is nice. I like lamp.
  21. I just want to say....ALPHA PROTOCOL. It has some flaws, but did the whole, "your choices matter!" run down a fuck ton better than mass effect(loved me some Mass Effect too). Also, TC. Get a ps4. Stat. If you need help with a covert op to steal one, I'm game.(kidding. It is best to wait for 2015/16)
  22. Went to a party, a Card Against Humanity Party, where my wife and I were not only the oldest, but the only couple married. They wanted to know how married life was. I replied, "Have you started farting in front of eachother? That'll let you know if you're ready. After a year the farts come out. Boom!" It was of course a metaphor. Maybe.

It can be fun with the right people. I couldn't play it all the time.

  23. Even the porn is fine in the right threads. What a liberal forum. Next you'll tell me I have to pay for your health insurance. YOU COMMIE BASTARD What is this "insurance" you speak of... here in the frozen European wastes we have no such thing. In all seriousness though, thank fuck for that. Socialised medicine is a must for me, I have no idea how Americans can live without free universal healthcare. I'm pretty sure I'd just be dead. I'm in the USA. There is disability, i'm not on it...yet. But if it wasn't for my wife...I'd have shot myself several years ago.
  24. I feel too much energy is given to the numbers. I just like to read the review personally... And when Metacritic is brought in...God, it just gets even more tiresome. Oh well, that's my two cents that really doesn't bring anything to the table of how we should use numbers. Bahaha.
  25. I think this was brought up in another forum. I always feel the "aged well or not comment" is in itself subjective...to a point. Anyway, that is a whole other topic. As far as OoT being the best thing ever, the best game, etc etc. No...and it's impossible for a game to continue to be "the best"... I love OoT. I loved replaying it on the 3DS. My wife, who played it for the first time, loved it(She still loves Link to the past...due to nostalgia. Just like OoT fans)...but it sure as hell has some flaws. Haven't played the Alice games...really need to. Same goes for Darksiders. I'm also probably the most unqualified to argue about Zelda games and which one is the best....as OoT is the only one I've played to completion(mostly because it was the only N64 besides Goldenye that I had)
