  1. Not really new game completions, but went back to beat Modern Warfare 3 in "Veteran" mode. Kinda hard but not too bad, obviously balanced for a gamepad. Still a good SP campaign. Also beat the Golden Temple in DKCR, now trying for all puzzle pieces.
  2. Reminder: sign up for Gift Exchange by Nov. 30 http://tinyurl.com/8xrzavz

I'd join if I had cash to spare on stuff like this :P

Worth it just for the Binding of Isaac OST but man, I'mma broke. Besides... I got Youtube.

Most of these games didn't have too memorable soundtracks imo.

If they had Jamestown's soundtrack in there, I'd bite :)

PPPPPP (VVVVVV's soundtrack) is amazing though.

  3. BF3 for just $30 on Origin, NA folks

... That is almost doable. I said I will only jump if it was $20 or under though... FML. :P

My face now is now the following...- :T

  4. Yes, agreed all around. The first few missions are pretty linear and dont live up to the rest of the game.
  5. @Ethan give Jamestown a shot. Easy to get into. Anyway just beat DXHR finally. Good game, not sure what I thought of the ending I got. Aside from the horrible boss battles it's quite a refreshing experience.
  6. Yeah Nintendo has done Sundays for major game releases and consoles for a long time. I don't know why.
  7. I wonder if they're published with an advertisement tag as you sometimes see in magazines, those ads that pretend to be editorials. Sadly, probably not.
  8. Well I'm fine changing the 15th if we want to have some time with the sale. Maybe the 21st or 22nd? Just don't want to get too close to Christmas.
  9. Anyone know when Steam winter sale generally kicks off?
  10. Made up a sign-up form; deadline is November 30 and gift date is December 15. tinyurl.com/75f4daa
  11. You! Sign up for the X-Talk $10 digital Christmas exchange... tinyurl.com/75f4daa

  12. I personally hate Black Friday, but my wife goes every year. Honestly the only stuff that goes like hotcakes, that you have to be there at midnight for, is like the $199 LCD TVs or extremely cheap consoles or something like that. Most of the discounts you should be able to get most of the day.
  13. Alright sounds like we've got enough to go forward at least. I'll see the best way to set it up and talk with Dean and the other mods about it
  14. Ok, I know I'm about 8 months late here, but DKCR is awesome, and you ought to give it another shot. Pacing feels a little screwy as you get the hang of it, especially if you're coming off another platformer. World 1 is a little easy to just beat the levels, not get the secrets, but after that it ramps up to some crazy stuff. Amazing platformer. The -K levels are some of the craziest, toughest stuff I've played in a long time.
  15. Finished Modern Warfare 3 on Hardened difficulty last week. Good game.
  16. Nearing the halfway point of A Feast for Crows. Good read so far.
  17. Let's assume that none of us know if we'll have money at the time, so we could give people a couple weeks' window to pony up so it doesn't have to be a specific date.
  18. We are picking up the 3DS / Super Mario 3D Land bundle at (Best Buy? Target?) for $179.99 for our 3-year-old.
  19. MW3 multiplay is a laggy mess

I have no problems with lag at all, and I'm playing on PC. But I've not played much.

Try testing it from another PC, P4? Maybe it is your end.

Even if you got rid of the lag, it'd still be a mess =)

  20. Welp, just put Skyrim on my Christmas list. Gonna be a loooong wait.

  21. I don't think that would have helped if it's the same recalibration other Motion+ titles have had to do from time to time.
  22. Would anyone be interested in a PXOD game/gift exchange for the holidays? Could iron out the details if there's enough interest, maybe a $10 or $20 limit depending on what people think is best. Steam/digital gifts would obviously be the easiest of course. EDIT: Alright, official rules: ----- 1.) Sign up by November 30. You'll receive your person's name around December 1, maybe 2 if I get lazy. 2.) Try to keep it around $10, not much more or less than that. If the person seems to want a $15 game no one's going to throw a fit though, same for $7 or $8 stuff. 3.) Update your Steam wishlist!!!! Very important. We are going to have to dig to find out what you want, and this is the easiest way. 4.) Steam, GOG.com, or other digital delivery service is fine. (I hear you can't gift on PSN/XBLA?). When I send you your person's name I will note his/her preferred service. Physical games or other gifts are probably not a good idea, though if you have something special in mind please message me to clear it. 5.) It's secret, so no telling or asking what they want: you've got to investigate it for yourself. 6.) Please try to give your gift on December 20. No earlier, but a week or so later will be fine if you're short on funds as some of us may be. 7.) If you encounter any problems or don't receive your gift by December 25, message me and I'll try to get it sorted out. 8.) We'll update this thread on the 15th and you can show off your shiny new gifts. ------ Merry Christmas and happy gifting!
