The first Rainbow Six had realistic teammates. The only problem was that it was kinda random who lived and who died and since when they died they were dead for good it was usually best to just lone wolf the game. Too much realism can be not fun sometimes.

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Men-s-Captain-America-Hoodie/14690959 Ten dollars? Just TEN FUCKING DOLLARS for a hoodie? With a print? Clothes are so goddamn cheap in the US... A printed t-shirt would run you at least 20 euro's around here. God Bless Wal*Mart.

Seriously though, I play a ton of videogames. It's not like she's actually winning the war, just the christmas battle. There are always casualties in war.

New Years Day at Chili's was the quietest shift I've ever worked in my life.

Yeah, it was always Eggman in Japan just like Toadstool was always Peach in Japan. It wasn't until gamers in America were becoming more aware of the Japanese culture that they had to try to reconcile it.

We should play some online sometime. Who has this on Xbox?

Yeah that bugs me a bit too. On the subject of squads: It seems like you've got a bit of a problem with squads. If the AI is good you can just hang back and let your squad do all the killing for you. If they suck then what's the point of having them at all. The only game I can really think of that handled squads pretty well was Brothers in Arms but that was kind of crucial to the game. In most games like Halo and COD your squadmates are just cannon fodder.

Games with no replay value that you keep playing anyway
Yantelope replied to Mister Jack's topic in General Gaming Chat
Really just old games for the nostalgia factor. I can't think of any current games that I keep playing. My attention span is just so dang short I have trouble just finishing the games that I like. -
Yeah, the earliest Xbox games were the best for gamerscore. I got 1000 on NHL 2k6 in about 30 minutes. I also rented and beat Peter Jackson's King Kong for another 1000. I tried simming 20 years in Madden but it just took so dang long. I didn't realize that 400 points were that hard to come by back then.

I bought Tropico 3 on steam. Looks like between that and Evil Genius I'll have my evil strategy fix.

My hatred for Big Lots! greatly decreased yesterday as I found two foods that are extremely rare that I love. Iced Animal Cookies: You can find the frosted ones everywhere but the iced ones are endangered. and Starburst Gummibursts: They didn't last long but dang I loved them:

How Important is a Gaming Interest in Your Significant Other?
Yantelope replied to Mister Jack's topic in General Gaming Chat
My wife doesn't really play games much beyond the old school Mario and the occasional Wii with me. She has gotten kind of hooked on Brain Age though. I personally don't care that she doesn't play videogames because I have plenty of guy friends to play videogames with. I wanted a girl to do dating stuff with or stuff that would make me do things I would not normally do. If I married someone who plays as many games as I do I fear I'd never see sunlight again. She does like to watch some TV shows that I hate but I let her do her thing. I don't feel compelled to bash Vampire Diaries just because I have zero interest in it. Besides, her watching her shows means I can go in the other room and play my games. Also, It's usually no fun dating someone with a different religion/worldview. You can get around it for a while but when the hard times come and you're both looking for strength you're going to be looking in different places and you'll find yourself alone. -
The only videogame I got for christmas was Black Ops. My wife's campaign to get people to stop buying me videogames has been far to successful. I did get a Captain America sweater, Bourne Trilogy on blu-ray and some other stuff though.

Saw Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader last week. It was pretty good. Still a family oriented movie (kinda kiddy) but not bad.

Things you'd like to see or do in Mass Effect
Yantelope replied to HotChops's topic in General Gaming Chat
I'd really like to see it not go into boring and overly complicated inventory systems. I like being able to switch between weapons and ammo etc. but I think the ability to do it on the fly was so much better than having to pause your game all the time and equip whatever new crap you picked up 5 seconds ago. That was the worst part about ME1. -
I'll see if I can get on tonight. I'm always up for a good game of hanging out in the pre-game lobby.
-
haha, that's a pretty good one.

admin powers have thwarted my thread title again. I begrudgingly accept its fate.

That's what I was wondering. It seems like aquired taste can be very strong. I drink coke for the familiar taste not as much for the best taste or sweetest tase etc.
-
Just wondering what some of your names mean or come from. My name Yantelope actually was just an inside joke amongst friends a long time ago and I never bothered to change it. There's not really any deeper significance to it. Originally I operated under the name Fronzel Neekburm as a reference to Space Quest 6 but that name is pretty much always taken for some reason.

Yeah, I was gonna bring up New Coke. Surely Coca-Cola taste tested it before they rolled it out right?
-
Okay yeah, I see what you're saying and I agree. All I was saying is that if you took Pepsi and put it in a coke bottle a lot of people would say "Wow, this is great coke!".
-
As far as taste testing I was more referring to blind taste testing where the person says "I like product A better" and then they say "Surprise! It's Pepsi!" It's the same lines of people not being able to distinguish between store brands and name brands in many products when tested blindly but they will still purchase name brands at a higher cost anyway. I'm not studying marketing so I'm not going to win any argument here I just don't think we're really disagreeing.
