  1. I played the original on the SNES and the GBA "Friends of Mineral Town" a lot as well. Both of them were a ton of fun for about 2 in-game years but then the grind finally got to me on both occasions and I stopped playing. I wish there was a way to automate the games a little more. I understand that the point is to "work" but it just wears on me after a while. I haven't tried any of the Wii ones yet.
  2. It's because the series hasn't changed at all since then. It's still the exact same game.
  3. God of War Devil May Cry Pokemon re-releases of old games that are easily available on MAME.
  4. Did anyone ever figure out why there was a picture of an old man with a banjo on that game?
  5. There's no combination of magic at all that I can remember. The game focuses much more on the brewing of potions and those potions give you special abilities. It's actually pretty cool and not overly complicated. The combat is probably somewhere in between fable and dragon age.
  6. Ah Ha! Mr. GOH! = ToiletNinjas! I knew it.
  7. I can't bring myself to finish this game. I keep getting killed by mages almost instantly and I don't have the desire to figure out what the crap I'm doing wrong. I started using cheat codes but I'm so lost I just can't seem to finish this game.
  8. The Witcher was much more compelling to me than Oblivion or Dragon Age. I found myself bored with both of those games and extremely frustrated with Dragon Age's combat. I didn't finish either of them despite playing them for a long time. I did however find The Witcher to have a much more compelling narrative, it was much more personal. It had great atmosphere and fun combat. It was fairly accessible and other than the horrible game ending bugs it was really a good game. I'm pretty pumped about the 2nd one.
  9. Minecraft. Uncharted 3, Killzone 3, Motorstorm.
  10. Yeah, seems like old games have been around don't always get credit. There was some flash game that was basically just bust-a-move but it gained way more popularity than bust-a-move ever did.
  11. Yeah, we do a lot of "lunch and learns" where vendors will bring us food and tell us about their products. It's great until you're stuffed and can't stay awake for their powerpoint show. I probably should just throw etiquette out the window and just take a nap.
  12. Also, demonoid reviewed it and freaking loved it.
  13. That's awesome. Also, on the issue of who is spoiled, it was the kids who had a Neo Geo when we were stuck with an SNES who were spoiled.
  14. Yeah, we didn't get a lot of toys or other things. It wasn't so much that we were spoiled it was just that every single dollar we had went to videogames.
  15. I'm gonna repost this for the 100th time just to cover JRPGs completely. http://project-apollo.net/text/rpg.html Yes yes yes yes yes
  16. Yeah, having six buttons instead of 2 led to a total freakout the first time I tried Super Mario World in the store.
  17. Waiting for Tashi to post so I can say 0/10 Smooves gets a 9/10. That MS paint phase is so over.
  18. Load times don't bother me so much these days because I lived through 1st generation PSX games. Those were just horrid. MS actually has a lot of rules about loading for games that are licensed on the Xbox. All load screens have to refresh every so often, they have to include text on them like hints or tutorials, they can only last so long if they aren't interactive etc.
  19. I haven't seen A Night at the Opera. My dad has the collection so I'll have to borrow that one from him. I guess I also need to see Citizen Kane but I hear that it's just so darn boring. I've been on a big "classics" kick lately. It's not even so much that I love the classics it's just that I see these movies spoofed so much I have to go back and find out what the original context is.
  20. Yeah, I'm pretty surprised "The General" isn't on that list. Also, Horse Feathers is way better than Duck Soup.
