Most Anticipated titles for 2011?
MetalCaveman replied to superfrogsavestokyo's topic in General Gaming Chat
After watching this: http://www.giantbomb.com/quick-look-ex-skullgirls/17-3845/ I guess I'll add Skullgirls to my list. -
I really enjoyed the first one, the sequel was really fun too, though I didn't like that I couldn't carry a full arsenal. Still, both are really good games, I haven't played any of them online, but the coop in 2 looked pretty cool. I've also yet to play Resistance Retribution, played the demo, but since I couldn't get used to the controls I haven't gotten the full game yet.

Speaking of that, one of the things I have to check before buying the tickets and stuff is that, do you personally recommend that Travelodge thing? Or anyone else, do you recommend any hotels close to the Expo and stuff?

I would like to go, but I'm already planning a trip to the UK in July thanks to this: http://uk.sonispherefestivals.com/ So I'm not sure returning there some months later is possible as far as money goes. Still, considering there are a lot of dudes from here going to that Expo I'll try to be there too!

Yeah, I was thinking that summer would be a good time to try and get this working. It'll also allow me to get some practice on both Unity and UDK.
-
According to this: https://store.unity3d.com/shop/ The "base" version of Unity is free, this is the engine used for Interstellar Marines, looks cool, but I don't know if anyone here has heard about/used it before. Also, it looks like UDK offers better stuff and it's easier to use, so I guess it's better than Unity, but I'm not 100% sure of that.

Brink Hands-on Previews: Part Deux Again, lots of interesting stuff, I like how they made it so that even if you can't talk with others it's still easy to complete objectives like a team and stuff. "The end product works surprisingly well. My fellow writers and I -- none of whom I'd met before -- completed two challenges as a cohort of silent killers with time and lives to spare. Smartly, the console tells you how many teammates are suited up as each class, so it's easy to maintain a balanced crew suited to any objective. We played as the Security, and one objective tasked us with escorting an injured comrade. After accessing the console, I saw that our team was stocked with medics, so I picked the engineer in order to lay down remote turrets at choke points and protect our escort as the medics fed him health packs. Both challenges required precision teamwork skills, and yet we didn't need to speak one word to get them done. The braying morons who love to lob hate-filled insults on Xbox Live are going to hate Brink because of that...and that's more than enough to get me interested." From the BITMOB preview.

Told you!... Maybe I didn't... But I did told you to chill and wait right!... No?... Ok then, maybe I just thought about it... Anyway, seems like they're keeping the covers intact, so now to decide, which one to buy? Also, I wonder if they'll leave the original difficulty or if they'll change it, apparently it was too freaking hard in some levels or something. Edit: Official site http://www.catherinethegame.com/

Invasion of the Brink Hands-on Previews Lots of cool info there. \m/ \m/ Special focus on there parts from the VG 24/7 preview: "Underpinning the class system is XP distribution. XP is distributed with an eye on how effective a player you are being for your team, not how awesome you are at headshots (which, incidentally, will only ever result in a one shot kill if you manage to land one on the very agile and fast moving ‘light’ body type). “The scorecard at the end of the round doesn’t show kills,” Stern explains. “Of course we track that information and if you want to set up a multiplayer server that’s all about that, the data is there for you. “But we’ve seen what happens when you rank players by kills on objective-based maps: you get medics that won’t revive players and soldiers that won’t give out ammo, because everyone is just chasing kills. “We look at how to incentivise players. We give you much more XP for buffing your teammates than for kills, and we smother you in XP for actually doing the objective. In addition, the XP that we do award for kills is proportional to damage, so if you cause 90 percent of the damage to an enemy and someone else swoops in and delivers the final shot, you will get 90 percent of the kill XP.”

Took me a while to read this whole thread, but it was fun, lots of interesting stuff here, reminds me of when we discussed the Spanish language in school (differences between regions, countries and more ). Anyway, based on that list that was posted by Dean when he started this thread, I can say I mix both, I use both words from American English and "UK English", probably because my school had English teachers from all over the world. Still, there are some words there that were completely new to me. Also, going back to the "Cornetto" thing we have Cornetto and Magnum here, so if you ask for a Magnum you'll get this: As for pronunciation and stuff, it was cool to hear dudes speaking, interesting way of learning more about you guys. I used to speak without an accent (as in, without a "Mexican" accent) back when I was in school, but since then I haven't used English in conversations with other dudes so I'm sure that has changed a lot.

Valkyria Chronicles 2 MGS: Peace Walker The Persona series Knights in the Nightmare
-
The Giant Bomb guys and Gametrailers, though I tend to ignore reviews if the game looks cool enough to me.
-
The only game that has caused me problems was Halo Reach, during cut-scenes and stuff it had way too much motion blur or something.
-
Cinematic designer, Anton Borkel talks about the trailer: http://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2011/02/25/dead-island-cinematic-designer-responds-to-mixed-trailer-reactions.aspx

Got that too, the Atlus forums are all over the place thanks to that. Some saying they're just trolling now, others that this gives hope, others just waiting. Some are even discussing the fact that it's the exact same font and background they used for their Valentine's Day email, so yeah, dudes be crazy now. I still have hopes, but in the meantime I'll try to learn Japanese and see if I can import it. Also, Ethan, chill dude!

That's the Fallout 3 Special/Collector's Edition Lunch box And: You can see part of it reflected on my TV
-
Yeah, consoles are still without a proper place... I'll fix that soon!
-
Finally decided to order it.
-
I hated that part, right before I completed the process he would move forcing me to repeat the whole thing again, and again and again and again...
-
"I can confirm what's said in that article. "No plans at this time" != "No plans for all time"" Taken from the official Atlus forums, this was posted by a dude who works there. http://atlus.com/forum/showpost.php?p=236932&postcount=20 Other dudes are speculating that this is due to translations and stuff going on.

I'M HYPED Looks really cool, the dragon fight looks interesting, spells look awesome now, and the new combat stuff like stealth kills and "finishing moves" are awesome!
-
Yep, except, if you want to release the game, you pay $99 for the license or something. Anyway, what happened to this? Dudes! Still interested in actually trying something or what?
-
I forgot about it probably, not new, I can't remember what I had for breakfast and that was 4 hours ago. It will be interesting to see if anyone actually does that, and what will happen to their child when they enter school and stuff, I mean, Dovahkiin sounds really cool to me, but who knows what others will think of it.
