No, I knew how to block myself (R2/RT). It's breaking the block on the mechs (when they go blue), that was the issue. There's two ways to break a block. The circular attack for blocking enemies, and the charge attack for shielded ones.

Excessive, early and excessively early DLC

Not including the on-disk DLC SFxT destroys other games in the genre in terms of content and characters. SFxT= 42 characters. SC5= 30. MK9= who cares, it's not that high. Dead or Alive... do they even make those anymore? Either way definitely not 42. -

Video games are a money making business. Also, the second team was working on the Vita version, I mentioned that. -
It's totally in the tutorials. I just did this the other day. Instruction manual? What the fuck is an instruction manual?

"What you paid for" is up to the publisher and dev, not you. The VALUE of that item however, is determined by you. Also, Capcom told everyone what was going to be on each version. They didn't lie about anything. The game value thing really is a big convo in itself. I do believe it's been covered here before. Many of us do consider games to be fucking great values at $60 for the number of entertainment hours you get out of them vs other media. Anyways, I think what would help you with DLC is transparency. Some studios have flat out said that a different team worked on DLC while another team was wrapping up a game to get it to gold, and others have stated they worked on it after the game went gold. If only every company was the same way. -

Like I said, what about the content that's already unlocked? It still makes up the cost of a $60 game. They just can't charge more than $60 for it. Try to think of this from Capcom's view: You're spending all of this money on this game, releasing a version for a handheld that's barely selling, and you're releasing it on everything else. Obviously, a lot of money went into this, and they need to get it back. They don't think the Vita version is going to sell that well, let alone sell DLC, so all of that content is playable. They think the console versions will do better, so they have a better chance to make up for the poor Vita sales by selling the content that team created on consoles as DLC. Of course, video game companies aren't the least bit transparent so who knows exactly what's going on. -
^Would you compare it to the gang area controls in GTA:SA? That was annoying after you had all of them and then somene would come by and try to get them back.

I'd say that's where we start to get into licensing issues. As in, you're not so much paying for the disc as you are access to the game. -
Hmm... doesn't the whirl attack (x + []/a+x) break blocks? Then charge breaks shields? I just started a few days ago. I actually dig the escort stuff in this game compared to most every game ever. Except for the same thing you noted: bitch just can't do a lot of easy stuff on her own.

I'm on the second act and I know what to look for now in terms of doors, items, etc, so I rarely use it. It gives you hints for places of power (medallion vibration) which is the only thing you need to activate it for. Everything else can be seen, just not easily such as traps, corpses, etc. That's how it was in the first game, too. After a while, I didn't bother much with the labels.

You have to consider the good and the bad. What you people can't understand about that is beyond me. Why would you complain about the good parts? That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying just talk about the other functions that happen when you press the button. You said that pressing z all the time is dumb so I pointed out the positives of pressing Z that you excluded.
-
Why blame Obama for that? That's been true of every politician ever.
-
It makes no sense to not talk about its overall usage. We're talking what one button does here. Nothing more, nothing else.
-
Pretty sure that's the basis of why we celebrate most holidays in America.
-
I laughed. Anyways, I actually am talking about something else. The vibration happens automatically. Places of power/traps are from pressing z.
-
It also shows you where places of power and traps are.

This is why I'm glad the industry is dying. Music has shown far more than any other industry that they don't need the big companies that run it.

Excessive, early and excessively early DLC

It's not greedy, they just can't realistically charge $106 for the game. They are essentially forced into the $60 pricing structure much like anyone else. -
It did more than make items glow. Clearly, you weren't using it properly.
-
Ugh, like buying it on iTunes makes it right.

Excessive, early and excessively early DLC

You should go back and read through the thread. I'll summarize -The game already has a massive amount of content not including the DLC -The DLC was created by a different team altogether -There is no confirmation as to whether or not the DLC is even balanced or ready for the game though apparently the characters are usable -
It would be nice if proportionally they contributed the same, rather than less of their earnings.

Good thing piracy has cases where this is not true. Plus, you're making it black and white. What about CD keys you've used 3 times on your own systems that you can't use anymore? I can't believe you're trying to make such a basic argument.

I see plenty of applications for Sony's authenticator thing. Security for one thing. Managing the devices of a business another big one. Charging your roommate for exactly their power usage. It has plenty of non-evil applications.

Arguably, using that toolset period would be cheating in this case. It's subjective. It comes down to what one person considers cheating.
