  1. Just doing a quick comparison of TVs vs monitors and monitors are cheaper unless you move about 23 inches or so. In terms of response times, resolution, etc, it's definitely worth it to just get a monitor and only get a TV when you want something bigger to game on/watch movies on. This is why I actually don't own a TV, just monitors!
  2. I started Roadside Picnic. It's pretty good so far. I've still yet to play the STALKER games but I have seen the Stalker movie so its familiar in a very good way.
  3. I just finished Choke by Chuck Pahlniuikuklk. It wasn't very good but it had a few funny moments.
  4. Personally I thought it was fairly cheesy and very "hollywood." Not that it was bad, just something I wouldn't watch without friends in a theater.

  6. ... the HD version is basically the PC version.

  8. Plenty of the discussion here I find to be enlightening. Some of it I find to fit what I just said. This forum is certainly a lot better than others. It doesn't ruin the game for me because I was never in the boat that took it this far in the first place. To me, that just sounds like an excuse to keep toying around with it, when Nintendo themselves are indeed saying something solid about what is going on here. Personally, I wish they said "there is no timeline, no shut up." But obviously, that would cause more rage than even the worst timeline imaginable.
  9. I think it's the fans faults when they take simple stories and try to connect things that aren't connected. In a sense, the fans are created the plotholes, because they're the ones who (at first) tried to make a plot out of the entire series rather than individual games and the few games each one connects to. Personally I'm surprised they did it. I'm sure they thought "why not?" They seem to take this far less seriously than the fans. I think it's funny you even word it that way. "Nintendo's own interpretation." Do you realize how insane that sounds? I see it as a matter of overall problems with gamers on the Internet. You spend way too much time overanalyzing the tiniest things and blow them out of proportion. I have a problem with that. I've always had a problem with that. This applies to everything, not just talking up a simple storyline, but to news, events, quotes, everything. It's sad. We could be talking about much better things. This is why people look down on gamers. It does not have to be this way. Gaming communities should not have to be viewed this way. Anyways, imagine if someone tried to do this with Mario? I would use Final Fantasy as an example, but people are crazy enough to try and connect those...
  10. Are you saying that this is my point? My point was that the Zelda storyline was never cool, and that caring about such a simple story has had a backlash on the fans who cared in the first place. I strongly believe that if you care about story in a Zelda game, you are doing it very, very wrong. Think back to how simple the series started.
  11. I've seen plenty of theories where four swords and all of that is on their own 3rd, separate timeline, as barely any of those little side games fit in easily and they were never meant to. Now that Nintendo has thrown them in there, and somehow created a 3rd timeline, people be helly mad. I haven't been on /v/ since the initial leak a few nights ago to see if they've updated their many different versions (as the discussion there is much more lively and there's always a ton of different theories) so perhaps they are interpreting the translations differently. Also, you should take offense to that, because it really happened and it's your fault. Basically, you took what was a simple story, bitched about it on the Internet, and now the game company has had to connect things that were never meant to be connected in the first place because the fans wanted it (of course, they also wanted to make money off it with this artbook.) It's pretty obvious that they didn't even bother with anything close to a timeline until the more recent games. Why would they? They're Nintendo games. They're meant to be simple. You're not meant to care about the story. Zelda games have always been fun adventure quests where you don't worry about what is going on so much. You just know there's an evil out there. And you play as the one who has to stop it. Things like Adult Link/Young Link were put in to make the gameplay more interesting. A throwback to the light/dark world of ALTTP. You might want to read back what you said:
  12. The difference between what Nintendo did and what fanboys did was include minish cap, four swords, and oracles, whereas that stuff was always separate in every single fan timeline I saw. People were also curious about the placement of the originals as no one had a good idea. This is Nintendo connecting the dots their way. Either way, I think that people caring too much essentially ruined Zelda's storyline for good.
  13. People don't like the last one with the "other" courier? That was the one I was most looking forward to =\
  14. So people would buy more PS3 games and blu-rays since (besides PS1 games) its all their system would play. It worked. They make their money on software, not hardware, so I've always understood why they did it. Also, these days, PS2 can be emulated just fine on a PC. Been that way for a few years really besides one or two games. And remember, even the PS3 had issues with emulating.
  15. That must be the case because I don't remember the first episodes DLC being that big.
  16. Also, looks like Sony is getting digital pricing right: http://i.imgur.com/znBj3.png The updated (as in, permanent price drop) list can't even fit in my window.

What do you mean different section? That section's always been there. That's where they list permanent price drops, but also regular sales. As in, sales available to everyone, not just PS+ subscribers.

  18. FYI Zelda timeline leaked. Absolutely nothing nerds who care too much haven't figured out so far. Following the /v/ thread.

Can't seem to find the thread, but if it's real, I'm sure nerds will have a problem with it.

  19. What an awfully nice set... of icons.
  20. One of the reasons I saw someone drop in a comment was that it's still mutually beneficial because the loser (as in, dropping market share like crazy) will remain IE.
  21. LA Noire is 28gbs? What the fuck? Was it 3 discs on 360? I know the DLC isn't that huge.
  22. Does it not blow anyone elses mind that for two sony products in a row (at least before removal) theyve contained emulation for the previous gen? Not even a chip. Mother. Fucking. Emulation. Does the 3DS and DS use chips for backwards compat?
  23. It's not necessary. It's the fucking second to last boss. One soul level barely makes a difference at that point and if it does you're playing it like a RPG instead of like an action game and in that case you fucking blow and i'll rape your ass on pvp and beat you up in real life too
