  1. I think if it's done right (Demon's Souls, dunno if they do it in the "sequel") it's great. It really is a proper punishment and makes you really try your hardest to avoid that one attack in the game.
  2. MMO tutorials last for 15 hours? Wut. To him, it was new. He doesn't mention if it's unique though. In fact, he even points out he has to look up terms people use casually because they came from other MMOs. Definitely not unique.
  3. So... describing a tutorial in a game counts as a review nowadays? Also, 70% of content in MMORPGs can be done solo, there's nothing new in that. The only thing that is introduced in swtor is the story + dialogues. And that is all. I don't know who that person is, but he sounds like an amateur. BTW, enjoying the game very much. I despise mmorpg as genre, but this game... well, it's different. I'm not good at reviews(especially in English, lol), but I'll try to sum up my impressions later. PS: Avoid servers with Russians AT ALL COST. Had to delete my first character and begin anew on another server because it was unbearable. Did you even read the article? He mentions that he's played for at least 15 hours. He never calls it a tutorial. He never calls it a review, either. He doesn't sound like an amateur at all, either. He approaches it from the perspective of someone like me who would much rather play games alone and has next to no experience with MMORPGs. I thought the article was written well enough.
  4. So was any of the DLC worth playing through? A few of them looked interesting... but I haven't heard squat about them after the first one or two so I've been holding off. I haven't played NV in a year.
  5. Haven't the past like 141941819 games been about setting up the next game?
  6. As someone who was really into KH1 and 2 and all of the lore and story I have to say... WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST WATCH!?
  7. I really doubt they're working together, just doing different music for different parts. Besides good ol' Clint, everyone else has worked on Mass Effect before.
  8. I love it when I get taken seriously. What crawled up your ass today? Is there room for one more?
  9. All four endings viewed in Nier. Amazing, AMAZING game. Starts out so slow... but man, it was all worth it.

I just read Grimoire Nier which fills in on the details (a lot of which they purposefully left out so you don't think about them too much while playing) and I must say bravo. Though I wish they had the time and budget to put all of that info into the game after you get all 4 endings. Then again, they mention that at one point in development there were more than 4 endings... so I guess restraint is good.

Also, the way it ties into Drakengard are EXCELLENT. Oh man, I definitely need to find its thread if it has one.

Yosh! Because the unpronounced "i" makes it seem like I'm referring to a viridian dinosaur. I don't think I'll play a game as satisfying as NieR for quite a while.

  10. Paragon and renegade are personal choices, not universally "moral."
  11. The human race would be better off without (read: stronger) without Christians, but does that mean you should brainwash them without giving them a chance? This is true for any religion. Anyways, yeah, it shouldn't be that simple, but I think what makes ME fun is the weight of your choices even if the choices are limited. We can wait until next generation to get really crazy with what can happen with choices I guess. Or not, if they keep half assing games.
  12. People think this in-depth about the relationships in ME? Seriously? They're not the slightest bit fleshed out. They're just a slightly interesting diversion from all of the other shit you're doing.
  13. Two endings down in Nier, two to go. Wow, that New Game+'s extra story elements were great.

I fucking love how the more I hear about this game the LESS I understand what the fuck it seems to be about or how it even plays. Ordered it earlier this week, can't wait for it to get here.

The game you're gonna play, as the rest of the westerners did, is the story of a man, his daughter, and a trannie [jk]

Yeah, too bad the siscon was left out of the localization loop. Fucking tragedy, that.

  14. No Steam is acceptable... but come on, not even some torrent links?
  15. So... any of those games any good? Dino D-Day seemed like it would be fun for an hour.
  16. There's different kinds of American cheese and many many kinds of American Cheddar. If you're talking Kraft... well that is ABSOLUTE crap. Something from a more local farm (these usually distribute to surrounding states or sometimes even more than that) you can find some great cheese. Some American cheddar is excellent. In fact, I've had farmhouse cheddar and real English cheddar and for my money, the best cheese comes from Vermont. Wisconsin may produce more but Vermont and upstate New York have much sharper and smokier flavored cheddars. Real cheese is white. Orange cheese is dyed (there are differing theories as to why) but to me orange cheese reminds me of Velveta which is most assuredly NOT cheese (nor is it edible.) There's a place I go to in Seattle that doesn't make their own cheese but rather sells a ton of specialty stuff from the Northwest and sometimes farther called the calf and kid. I gotta say, once you get past your standard every day sort of cheese... there's some insanely good stuff being made. I used to work right next to the place so I would always go in for samples. I really doubt many tourists go to the place though. The cheese place that draws tourists in Seattle is Beecher's, which is also great, but is only place. Beecher's though, is so good, that I know people that have gone to restaurants in New York and Chicago and other major cities and their higher end restaurants have used Beecher's.
  17. "Abandoned cities are being reclaimed by nature and the remaining survivors are killing each other for food, weapons and whatever they can get their hands on. Joel, a ruthless survivor, and Ellie, a brave young teenage girl who is wise beyond her years, must work together to survive their journey across what remains of the United States." They don't even mention zombies in the presser? Yeah, I'm definitely intrigued.
  18. Hmm... looks like some of you had forgotten that Naughty Dog existed before Uncharted in the first handful of comments. Anyways, looks decent enough. I liked the fact that the first dude killed didn't seem like a zombie. That's one thing missing from zombie games: the threat of other people, of dealing with the remnants of society.
  19. Yeah, but I do see it used to describe exactly what you are talking about.
  20. Yeah, using Netflix for TV shows is kind of missing the point.
