  1. Wasn't that a port of the dreamcast version? Also, I don't think the situation's the same with DS2. It's not a new IP this time around.
  2. It was both completely different and a lot of fun.
  3. I'm all for something light-hearted, funny, and a crude. There isn't enough of that in the genre anymore and certainly not much where it's done well. It's been years.
  4. You say that's a good thing? I'd love to be able to play split screen on PC (someone with a controller, someone with m + k) in games like Left4Dead 2. PCs simply lack the option. It's hard to find games that are only local co-op besides XBLA/PSN games. What I'm pointing out there, that the vs/co-op games these days, are mostly online on consoles to begin with, just like on PC. To get on topic: Most single player. Video games aren't that social to me though that's not to say they can't be at times. I had a lot of fun with Mod Nation Racers when it first came out. I've also enjoyed plenty of local Halo and online Halo over the years. I'm not one to search out for people to play with online (though there are a few who have always been reliable for me) as I don't care to get involved enough to learn who's fun to play with.
  5. if too many open tabs are your problem, use firefox. least memory usage: http://lifehacker.com/5711173/browser-speed-tests-ie-9-firefox-4-beta-chromes-crankshaft-and-opera-11-beta Firefox 4 beta is even lighter on memory, too. If you're using chrome, then be aware that every tab= a new process. Then again, I have no clue what RAM you're at currently, and an upgrade might be a good idea either way!
  6. I was thinking in terms of user base actually. If the people who already own your hardware aren't going to buy games because they can't activate them... well those people are going to be quite pissed. I think the attachment rate would be something good to look at though as I would think that if you're online it's because you care enough about your console in the first place to set up an account.
  7. When 25% adds up to millions it's definitely a problem.
  8. And wasn't it something like 80-90% of PS3 owners are online?
  9. Yep, the same can be said about plenty of games/series though. Anyways, it looks funny/in the right spirit at least. Looks like a rent or pirate at the minimum.
  10. Do they do that for retail boxes? Or do you have to call a phone number if you can't connect to the internet? I haven't bought anything but digital in years (since the orange box!) so I'm wondering how it works nowadays.
  11. Yep, shit right on the lead singer. Anyways, I'm listening to the new Telekinesis album which is awesome. If you're into catchy indie-rock sort of stuff this should be right up your alley. http://www.spin.com/audio/download/80256/carcrash.mp3 A download of one of my favs from their latest
  12. Sort of both as I did just throw that out there at first. The more I thought about it the more I think it makes sense. With a game like this, I actually grew tired of all of the jokes as it was the same thing over and over. That's not much of a legacy to be "that game" nor is it very fun after a few years. It was only fun again when they released more stuff about it/officially killed (before it got picked up again,) That cycle would have to continue or else it would just fade away and would only appear in top ten lists of games that never happened and stuff like that which IMO, is where it becomes worthless. It's nice to actually see a close to this chapter, to see this legend affirmed as something that only mattered in the first place, because people really did want another duke nukem game. Now we're getting it. It comes down to the game, and enjoying the game, and you can't do that with simply a story. It is just a video game. The legend wasn't that "legendary."
  13. I can't be the only one who is just sitting back and letting this play out, am I? I'm talking both sides. Sony's solutions and what ends up happening with CFW. It's too early to see how it will go with either one. After all, how do we know they won't end up like how MS handles it? The 360 has had a much worse piracy problem for years now and what MS does is just have incremental patches like the recent one that took care of MW2 and Black Ops problems.
  14. Possibly going to a party but there's some drama involved with me (even though I have no problem seeing these people) so I might pass.
  15. RF1 had its share of that! Honestly, what I would ideally would want is BOTH systems in play. That's what would be "next-gen" to me as other games (BFBC2) already have building destruction and it's not that implausible with this sort of hardware like how mind blowing geo-mod seemed at first.
  16. It was more a response to the second sentence. RF1 proved that caves are the perfect place for that.
  17. I also don't think the combat was very different. It was essentially an ATB battle system except you could move around. It was the regular ATB experience but streamlined so there wasn't any loading into/out of the battles basically. Also, you would never see a western rpg with gnarly gambit menus. Menus on top of menus is very japanese and thus very final fantasy.
  18. FF12 was entirely menu based if you wanted it to be. I mean, hell, no matter what you were doing something in the menus even if you were setting up gambits.
  19. Halflife and Portal were much more successful than psychonauts and beyond good and evil though... Personally, Okami is my big one, I love that game to death.
  20. There's a difference between quitting and ragequitting. In SC2 people tend to quit when they have no chance. This is especially true of GSL.
