    Have you had a long time to play with it/do you own an Xbox One? My first impressions were that it was an improvement but as you get used to a controller certain quirks may become apparent.

I'm reading my post and I can't find where I said I didn't want new experiences as well. If you could explain how I can be aware of games that haven't been announced yet, I'd love to know! If the studio is working on putting VR into ports of their old games they're not focusing their time on incorporating it into new games instead. You're forgetting the reality of the fact that a team of people actually have to put in the time and effort to make this happen. There's no magic "port to new console with different architecture and add VR" button.

    I've used Oculus but didn't actually get to play anything with it. The early prototype is a "wow" experience at first but it's not a life changing experience. I think Crystal Cove should really improve it a lot and that's what Sony needs to compete with and not the current dev units. So anyways are they actually going to reveal anything more than the briefest of specs this week? Oculus isn't close to market yet but we certainly know a shitload about it at least.

    I'm still not spoiled by ME3s ending. Also didn't the Normandy get wrecked at like... the very start of ME2 which is what gave them the reason to do like everything again at the start of ME2?

    I find it hilarious that people are complaining that the audio is uncompressed. You mean the sound quality is incredible? What an utterly shite game! Lazy developers! The only thing to complain about here is the languages thing but tons of games are like that.

    Emulating the cell processor is going to be an absolute nightmare. It's definitely going to be far off to get anything playable running. It is open source which is very very good for a project like this.

    The biggest difference you'll make for "snappiness" with those specs is buying a SSD. Overall Windows 8 does run a bit better than Windows 7 and has much nicer animations so it feels a lot nicer to use. I would recommend just getting a laptop with an APU instead of anything with a dedicated mobile card. Save money and the laptop should be thinner. Also check RAM compatibility. You might just be able to pop out the RAM of your old laptop to use in the new one so you can go for lower and save some money.
