  1. As someone who has been on the other end it's usually a matter of being understaffed. It's the same thing as Valve. They have millions of customers and clearly only 3 people who do support.
  2. Why was that middle one being filmed?
  3. As someone who beat AC3 recently I can tell you that this is actually part of the story. He doesn't really feel a connection the same way old black dude did. Do you not remember how often they'd argue with each other?
  4. What do you think of webOS so far? It looks pretty good as far as Smart TV UIs go.
  5. Zero problems in Firefox. Based on the status updates lately tons of you have issues with Chrome.
  6. >2015 >not having a browser that can handle webm
  7. I finished Haruki Murakami's latest Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage. Pretty good. One of his better "realistic" novels, certainly. Of course there were still fucked up surreal dreams because it's Murakami. One big bonus: It's not overly long. It's really about the perfect length. His pacing was crap for 1Q84 as they combined 3 books into one release outside of Japan.
  8. If you haven't seen Welcome to the NHK put that on your list as well.
  9. Yet, somehow, Falcon Northwest has been in business for years and their business has only grown in that time. I really don't buy that just because you have a lot of money means you're okay with buying something huge and not at all sleek. If anything being rich is what allows you to do that while the peasants have to buy huge towers that aren't specialized to their needs. Between this thread and the Apple thread I'm struggling to understand your position on high end purchases. Seems like if you buy anything you are either a douche bag or a peasant or is there one FDS approved mid range purchase per category that leads to consumerist nirvana? I wouldn't personally buy a Falcon Northwest product but like the Apple Watch I think they both have their place amongst people who like to buy expensive sleek shit that's only going to last a few years.

  11. Just a dialer. It still uses the phone functionality unless it's explicitly another service like Skype, Vonage, etc.
  12. ^Holy shit how would they even make any money off of that? You're basically giving away the entire game for free. If anything cosmetics are the one thing that should be monetized considering they're completely fucking unnecessary. Pretty sad that FUD can kill quality games so easily. People are upset about DLC that isn't even out yet and somehow extrapolated that to the entire game being shit. I will firmly stand by the belief that if your issue is the DLC, you actually haven't taken a close look at the content of the game, and it's 12 hunters and 3 monsters for $60 that should have been the complaint the whole time.
  13. What feature was removed? What am I looking at?
  14. Rolex already beat them to it. An expensive watch like a Rolex, Philippe Patek, Hublot, Omega, will retain it's price, and may well go up in value. It will always be relevant, and will be passed down through generations. The Apple Watch 1 will be relevant for about 5 years, functional for up to ten and be worthless by the time you are ready to pass it on to your kids. Douchebag logic in action.
  15. Rolex already beat them to it.
  16. I can't imagine it's easy to get right. There's a lot of elements at play here. Plus, if Mighty Text haven't done it even with paid features, I don't see Pushbullet doing it. MightyText is far ahead of PushBullet for actual phone features but then again PB seems to have an incredibly talented team over there.
  17. "Continuity" Apple Pay and Touch ID are very much power user applications. From what Revan said, I can't those features being particularly in demand. Not to mention the fact that Continuity exists on Android (I have whatsapp, chrome to phone, google mail and Drive and keep and music all seamless linking between the two), Touch ID is available on the S5. I will concede that Apple has a good reputation for after sales support. (It's not a criteria I would use to decide a gadget purchase though). This is standard "need several apps to do things that work out of the box on other systems" sort of stuff that's common with Android. Wouldn't really call Touch ID & Apple Pay power user features. More like features that people just take time to discover.
  18. Portal is a first-person puzzle game. It's not a shooter. The same (mostly) goes for Mirror's Edge, Antichamber, Quantum Conondrum, etc. But yeah, this is a type of media where the name of the type itself (video games) does a terrible job at saying what it actually is.
  19. Shadow Warrior (2013) Pretty fun game. Maybe a tad too long. Definitely dig what this studio does.
  20. Yep. Will be interesting to see what options are available when these things go retail. Totally expecting an option to spend an extra $100 to actually play more than indie games.
  21. There's Falcon Northwest stuff in there. Good luck building that yourself.
  22. Huh? There's a whole range of prices.
  23. Please don't let the Vision go all Deus Ex Machina. That's how they're setting this up so far.
  24. Quality is just like anything else: It's up to the person who originated the content to maintain quality. There's zero point in webm if you destroy the quality like gif does. A big advantage of webm is how much better at compression than gif so you can get much higher quality content, and more of it, for the size of a gif.
  25. I'm not even sure how this was marketed. All I saw was the information about the DLC and what it contained. It seems like misconceptions about the game itself caused people (who aren't interested in the game to begin with) to flip out.
