Playing Mirror's Edge at work. Ni No Kuni at home.

Stands to reason. If my buddy, parent, child or sibling is in the forces then chances are I'll want to game with them. It might even be the only time we get to talk to each other. So if they can't get an Xbone then I'll have what they're having. Which means more PS4s for everyone involved.

I reckon this will have a huge amount to do with release dates. If there's so much as a month's difference between the two consoles it could swing the early market leader which will give one side or the other the momentum and the ability to define the generation (gaming focused or multimedia generalist). MS and Sony are probably waiting to see the other's date before announcing theirs. It's a game of chicken. EDIT: I'm over 30 with money. I sometimes game on PC, but I'm a PlayStation gamer first and foremost. PS4 day one.

Yeah. It'll sell fine. Ass loads of marketing and an established fan base will see to that.
-
Good question. Sony seem to be quite open with their system, however, they might want to keep that stuff under lock and key since if the sale is through the PS wallet they can easily take a cut. If it goes through the pubs own channel then it's harder to track and they may not even get a cut of the microtransaction revenue.

Surely this does more harm than good?
-
It's also short on memory due to running the OS, side apps and it has to have enough memory left over to put the console in standby within one second. Depending on what else the console is doing you can have as little as 30% memory to work with. Also, total BS that they claim you have to check in every 24 hours because The Power of the Cloud. If the Xbone needed the cloud to operate checking in once a day wouldn't do shit.

Are you suggesting Kotaku would go click-baiting?
-
I need to see what the terms and conditions for it are before I give it GoodThingâ„¢ status.

Hmmm, dunno. I'm dubious about it. Just seems like if you are sharing a game with 10 ("family") friends, you aren't going to get to play it much unless you bought the game. Can see it being fairly frustrating. Also... 10 seems like a lot of people to share with. Sony started out with a 5 device install limit for PSN games. They cut that down to 2. MS going the other way... well it seems odd. Especially if you can chop and change your 10 "family".

Found some more images on Google+. Yeah it plugs into the controller. As to PS Plus, if you lapse and rejoin you have access to all the content you activated before lapsing. So if you activate Uncharted 3, lapse, Uncharted 4 is available for a month and then you rejoin when Uncharted 5 is available you will have access to 3 and can download 5, but you don't get 4. Makes sense?

Depends on the other restrictions too. If you have to have been "friends" for 30 days before you can loan a game, then how long do you have to be family? Can you add and remove people at will? Or do you have to wait a certain amount of time before a removed person can be re-added? One of MS biggest problems is that they don't seem to know how all this works. You've got half a dozen people telling slightly different stories about what works and what doesn't. In my opinion, MS were going for a hardcore "only you can play your games" system, with retailer trade-ins. As Sony's soft approach became more apparent they've tried to backpedal and haven't been able to work out exactly what they will do, never mind how they will do it. Loaning games won't even be implemented at the launch of the console to my knowledge, further reinforcing my belief that this is a last minute scramble to fix a PR fuster cluck.

When they ran the trailer at the MS event the audio didn't work. Same as when they tried to run the BF4 single player thing. Except that no one cares about a not Panzer Dragoon game so everyone just remembers Patrick Soderlund going out the back to murder a MS audio guy and get the BF4 trailer working.

Stupid question, but that headset connects to the controller right?
-
It helps. But if you can't do it, and you keep retrying over and over (which is the natural reaction) then the whole system collapses. People were a bit peeved at having to download a bunch of updates for WiiU. It won't be great if they have to go through all this crap for Xbone.
-
Hehehe. I'm comfortable with my fanboysim.

Good work on not micing up the guy you are interviewing!

PS4 launch. Who the voted Xbone? I wish to shun him/her.

So like MGS2? With Tanker and Big Shell?
-
I only know that cos my housemate works for MS. He's been filling me in on the long-term strategy (including becoming a TV content provider, not just a pass through for your cable box). EDIT: It's a daft idea anyway, because Input one will always be my AV unit until a console is released that has 5.1 (or whatever) speaker connections and handles the signal from my cable box, aerial and PC inputs. Otherwise everything will continue to get passed through the AV unit which will go into HDMI 1 on my TV. The best a console can hope for is to be Input one on the AV unit, but it will likely go into whichever port is labelled "GAME".
-
When you select the Source or "Input" they want the Xbone to be in HDMI port 1 hence "Input one".
-
The enemy of my enemy?
-
All in one*. *Except for cable box, router, TV, and AV unit.

They had that tech demo with that Heavy Rain actress before Heavy Rain came out, so I'm just hopeful. Also, I'm confused what it has to do with Juno. It was a joke as the actress will always be known as Juno to me. And the Heavy Rain tech demo with the actress lead to Heavy Rain. The tech demo with Ellen Page lead to this upcoming game. I was also looking forward to an android sci-fi game but apparently they decided to go with superpowers and Willem DaFoe. I would love an Asimovian sci-fi game.

Haha, no offence taken. Wasn't sure if the term had the same double meaning in the US of Canada as it does here.
