I think it's more PC culture vs. console culture. The average person sees a PC as an internet machine. Always connected, always online, while a console is less so. It's still a thing you would stick in the kids bedroom or what have you and not necessarily hook up to the internet. Also, people are very used to PC software being something that you install on the machine so the software and hardware is more, integrated I guess. People don't think of Word or Excel as separate software, they are just part of what makes a PC a PC. Consoles are still thought of as machines that primarily run software directly off the disc, there may be some gamedata being saved, but the software and the hardware are still thought of as being two separate entities.

When you donate you pick a fave FF. Clearly donations are thin on the ground prompting Dean to ask if we hate FF and that is why we have not helped support the forum we love. Reading between the lines Dean is saying "This place doesn't pay for itself yo! Gimme some cash."

I hate when people send "freedom of information" demands to companies. "I demand you tell me the release date of the PS4 under a formal Freedom of Information Act 2000 Request". These people have 0 concept of what they are talking about.

Fair comment. Also agree. Freedom of speech cuts both ways. They're allowed to make sexist stuff. We're allowed to remind them that it is sexist.

On the one hand, I am glad that my choice to buy a PS4 is being made so easy. On the other I hope that MS can pull this together as a) I don't want a Sony monopoly and b) EA are betting fairly heavily on Xbone.

Ignoring it solves problems! Boycotting a product is not ignoring the issue. In fact, it's just as, if not more, effective than bleating on forums. If no one bought games that were sexist, no one would make games that were sexist. Awareness is needed for sure, but if all the aware people do nothing then it's pretty pointless.

Who's a good guy? Jaime was annoying when he was just a sword and his sisters consort. His time on the road with Brienne really makes him likeable as he develops into three dimensional character and not just a handsome villain. He's done hideous things in the past for sure, but he has never been needlessly cruel. He didn't kill Ned because it wasn't a fair fight. He killed Mad King Aerys because he was going to destroy Kings Landing and everyone in it with Wildfire. He pushed Bran out the window to save himself and his sister. Killing his cousin was out of character in my opinion. I don't even recall why he did it truth be told... Think they should have just left the cousin out altogether.

Demon's Souls is out too. Between Amalur, DS and Ico/Shadow I think that's a pretty decent line up.

I'm actually quite impressed that the book readers (myself included) were able to keep a humdinger like that under wraps for so long. Contrast with people like Frankie Boyle who a) Spoiled the show for anyone who did not watch it live (so to speak) and b) then proceeded to wreck the rest of the books. I've loved seeing people's reactions. My friends have been calling and texting asking why I didn't warn them, asking if they should keep watching or just abandon it before it gets even worse. I just keep quiet. I'd have been devastated if someone had spoiled the books. I'm not about to do the same to the fans of the show.

I think you missed the point. All I'm saying is PS4 DRM is the same as PS3 DRM based on that. Publishers can lock out content if they want, or not. Xbone, looks like publishers don't have that choice.

Which is pretty much the status quo. Nothing to stop someone like EA locking out all content behind a pass of some sort rather than just the online stuff.

It wasn't our cheapest game, but it certainly didn't have as much spent on it as BF3.

Dunno about that. "Weight and height" is ok for a ball park of fitness, but it's a very blunt instrument.

Amazing how many people say it "bombed" in sales. It did a couple of million easy which back in 2008 was hardly disastrous. It just wasn't as successful as EA had hoped.

It can be an incentive to get in early. Then again, there's always a niche who game the system. I always download or at least activate temporarily free DLC for games I might want in the future. Also, it's not so much about "hating" used games. It's more about a) making games depreciate so that new is differentiated from (and better than) used and b) monetising the used game sale by offering the 2nd hand purchaser an opportunity to new-up their purchase.

I would quit. On the spot.

I never did get that trophy where you have to avoid getting any damage. Turned a super tranquil game into a highly frustrating one...

Mirror's Edge is possibly my favourite game franchise (and definitely one of my top EA games) of all time. I would be ecstatic if there was a sequel.

Doesn't help me. I've got a sister and a dad who play games. My sister is and hour north, my dad an hour south. Before that all three of us were in the same house with a PS3 each. Also, I don't really like the idea of logging my account in to my friend's console. One of my sisters gave her PSP to my other sister who ended up accidentally buying a couple of games on the wrong account. Nothing extreme, just a couple of minis here and there. Still, it makes me anxious.
