  1. Finished Metal Gear Solid on my Vita. Got the stealth camo. Man, I keep coming back to it and it keeps being awesome!
  2. They have a content release plan. That plan is to release characters at a steady rate to give customers something new to do on a regular basis, reduce the number of trade ins and generally keep the game feeling fresh. With the characters already created you have two options. 1. Make people download the content, which will hurt those with bandwidth caps. 2. Put it on the disc and have people download release keys when you want to make the content available. You just have to accept that the content belongs to the creator, if they want to drip feed it to you, then that's up to them. It's up to you if you want to support the practice by getting the game or not.
  3. Retailers pay first party for codes. Sometimes publishers will do it too. It's a neater, cheaper way of doing retailer exclusive dlc. Rather than having a leaflet printed inside the box or creating a Gamestop exclusive pack, you just have GS print the code on the receipt.
  4. Having an easy option makes no difference. Sometimes I like to play on Easy because I have a backlog and want to play through the story quickly. It's also more fun to play on easy when you have friends round. You can take turns on chapters in Uncharted or whatever and no-one really needs to hand back the controller because there is a hard bit. I tend to think of Easy mode as "Content Tourist Mode" you may like games, you may even be "hardcore", but you just want to cruise through the game and see everything there is to see. I always play Uncharted on Very Easy or Easy when looking for treasure because I don't have to worry about starting a level over again and re-collecting stuff or whatever. Either way, as everyone else has pointed out. Easy mode only affects you if you use it. Otherwise it is not a problem. Especially for a game like Demon / Dark Souls where the difficulty comes from the combat. You can do loads, increase Soul Drops, increase loot drop rates, increase player damage, decrease enemy damage etc. None of which make the blindest bit of difference to the way the game is built. Besides which, Demon's Souls isn't that hard. It's just a little unforgiving. With enough preparation it's perfectly possible to complete. It's not like one death ends the game and wipes your save.
  5. Played and finished Machinarium yesterday. Great little puzzle game.
  6. Good point, I've yet to come across one personally.
  7. My gods, people really are desperate to make bitcoin look like a viable currency aren't they!
  8. I've had two PSPs and never did, but this isn't that thread. I'm assuming you are talking about getting a PSN purchased version of Ys on your PSP to replace the... other one you have on there now. If so, yes, the same PSN account can be activated on all your PSN enabled devices. I have downloaded Metal Gear Solid, Legacy of Kain and Final Fantasy games to my PS3, Vita and PSP. I've also downloaded God of War, Patapons and Modnation to my PSP and Vita. It's all rather seamless and easy.
  9. Not disputing that. But even for a genius hacking the dalek is impossible. . Many dalek or many daleks? Are they like sheep or cows?
  10. I think it's pretty clear that her level of genius with dalek technology is Agree with Dean. Probably set re-use.
  11. I like the pubs that are just random "The [noun] and [noun]" or "The [adjective] [noun]" like "The boot and slipper" or "The drunken fox" or whatever.
  12. I quite like The Senators Arms as a pub name. We have loads of pubs called The Red Lion. So America maybe has loads of Red Necks?
  13. I do rather wish that these would come to other platforms. Now that it's on iOS it sets a precedent and I'd love to see these games on Vita. I'll happily rebuy every single one of them.
  14. - Love the comment from theaverageguytag. - I think $100 is a pretty low barrier to entry. I mean in gamer terms it's two new console games tops. If you can afford the equipment to make a game, you can probably save up $100. - Even if you genuinely cannot possibly raise the $100, I'd be willing to bet you could speak to Valve and if your idea is solid you could get them to spot you the oner.
  15. Maybe so, and I am of course being tongue in cheek, but you could at least mention the other guys name. If we hold to the adage there is no such thing as bad publicity, then Obama gets a mention in this ad, and is called out as a winner. The other guy doesn't even get a name. Surely there are more than two options on the ballot paper? It doesn't have: [ ] Obama [ ] Not Obama There must be a few: [ ] Neither Obama nor Not Obama. In this case, it's pretty proven that people will just go with what they recognise over a sea of what they don't. Even if they know not to vote for Obama, then the other guy's votes will be spread amongst all the people who are not Obama, which only serves to guarantee Obama's success. Maybe Chuck is a closet Democrat and this is a brilliant piece of subversive marketing that will totally redeem his asinine homophobia?
  16. They've had a lot of good PS One titles on sale recently. EU advertising rules say that you have to have ~6 months between sales on items. So things like MGS were excluded because they were only recently discounted.
  17. Ummm, not being funny, but did Chuck actually say who I'm supposed to vote for? I mean I'm not American and all that but, it's obvious who they think I (or rather American voters) shouldn't vote for, but really they should have said something about voting FOR someone shouldn't they? It's just common sense.
  18. Did they improve remote play in the last update? It seems less flaky now.
  19. My favourite quote of the re-shuffle is: "Yes, Ken Clarke has been given a "roving economic brief", which essentially means he's lost his job but not his salary and car." via https://twitter.com/Queen_UK/status/242900290611855360
  20. Expendables 2! It was a lot of fun. Takes itself less seriously than Expendables, which is a good thing imho. Pretty much what you'd expect, loads of violence and explosions. Cheesy dialogue and a flimsy plot to hold it all together. Pretty short by today's standards, it barely cracks 2 hours, but that is all the time it needed.
  21. http://www.partycloud.fm Pretty cool mixing site with a nice collection of tunes (if you like electronic music).
  22. EU PS3 store is generally considered inferior. CS:GO being a prime example of that. They seem to be much better at supporting the Vita oddly.
