Well, you could always request that your santa gift you a code for PSN credit. And didn't Amazon start selling codes for digital console games a while back?

Not sure about that. I've never had any issues redeeming Steam codes (and one time a PS+ subscription code, I think?) I bought from US Amazon. But I guess actual PSN credit might be a problem because of currency exchange bullshit, though.

We do it that way because there's a wide range of financial means in our family, and this way people can spend as much or as little as they want without feeling bad for getting someone else something crappy. And the part where we have to guess whose gift it is is a lot of fun.

At my grandma's instead of getting presents for everyone else we just get something for ourselves, and then each person gets to unwrap one random present and try to guess whose it is. This is mine.

Turkey says it had crossed into their airspace, Russia says it never left Syria. So far Russia is limiting it's ire to Turkey ("This will have consequences for relations between Turkey and Russia") rather than expanding it to include the whole of NATO or the West in general.

It's that time of year again. I'm trying to get a bit more of a jump on it than last year. If you want to be part of the fun just post in this thread. Rules: Digital gifts only, typically Steam since it's the easiest to mess around with wishlists and gifting on. Other services/gift cards are fine though. Make sure your Steam wishlist/other wishlists are up to date. Suggested price of $10, though under or over is not against the rules. What this means is, don't expect a $60 gift--if your Santa gets you a $5 gift that's on your wishlist, that's all he's required to do. But if you're feeling ultra-rich or ultra-generous, we won't thumb our noses at higher priced presents. Multiple gifts are fine. Gifting period will officially commence alongside the Steam Winter Sale, which I believe is supposed to begin December 22 this year. You can gift earlier though if you find a killer deal. Gifting deadline will be on or around the end of the Steam sale. If you don't get your gift by then, message me. No brand new members (signing up after this message) unless I or another mod approves you. Deadline to sign up is Monday, November 30. I'll message everybody their targets in the AM (GMT -6) of the 1st. Have fun!

Yeah, I'm sure there's countermeasures, but it's just surprising that they seem to have basically a complete lock on it, with no leaks at all, ever.

Apparently this year Steam won't be having Flash or Daily sales, all sale prices will be consistent throughout the period. Will make Secret Santa simpler, at least.

Yeah, seems to me you just buy whatever you want on the first day and then never check the store again.

I'm thinking they most certainly have some kind of replacement incentive to keep people coming back throughout the duration of the sale, whether it's some stupid community game or whatever. They have to. I mean, Valve often seem like they don't know what the hell they're doing with Steam but this is one area where that can't possibly be the case. It would just be too monumental of a fuck up.

You should also be able to go into the firmware settings on Router 2 and change the WAN port to behave as a LAN port, that way you still have the same number of ports. That's how mine's set up at home. Now that you've got them both on the same subnet the wireless issue should be as easy as just giving them the same SSID and password. That's also how mine is set up at home and it behaves just like the campus networks you're describing, where it's transparent from my end which router my device is actually connected to.

I've always been surprised that there aren't more uploads from those high quality theater files. You still typically only ever have cams and shit until the thing comes out on home media.

I'm having the same "can't recruit Preston" issue, also due to him wanting me to clear the castle. It's not a huge deal because I'm sticking with Dogmeat, I just would like to be able to get Preston's special perk.
