I don't feel like Ubi painted themselves into a corner so much as failed to capitalize on where they'd gone. You had the whole Desmond dying, Juno being released into the world, and then just... nothing happens. Everything's still the same. It's weird.

I actually would have preferred they stick with 30 fps and not made the visual compromises. Halo has always been 30 fps and has always felt great, so there's no reason they needed to up it. I don't feel strongly about that though, and the increased temporal resolution is nice.

Saw some gameplay stuff and some of the new additions look fun, but will probably never get an Xbone (or PC release) so I don't care. "Better than Halo 4" doesn't say much either. =p

I mean, I see tons of ads for the game, but we're also talking about a Halo game after like, what, 8 other Halo games. 1-4, ODST, Reach, Halo Wars, and that mobile game.

Anyone played both that and Jupiter: the Nexus Incident? Cause the combat looks kind of similar and I really fucking loved the combat in JTNI, especially at the beginning when you only have one ship. I've always been sad that there's never been another game with that kind of space combat.

My guess would be that another season wouldn't bring back the rewind mechanic, except that that mechanic was (kind of) in Remember Me too, so it might be something they really want to keep playing with. Though it could go the other way and they could say "okay, we've explored this idea enough, let's move on to something else". Either way, I'm really looking forward to where they go from here. Remember Me seemed like it had some really good ideas that were hindered by forcing it into an action game, but it definitely seems that they learned from that mistake.

It wouldn't surprise me if they're functionally identical, but then it also wouldn't surprise me if PS4 is 1080p and Xbone is 900p, or if they're both the same res but one of them performs significantly better.

I agree that would be helpful information. I had to work out for myself that both embargoes were dropping 24 hours early.
