  1. Yeah, that movie was a lot better than I was expecting it to be.
  2. I think the issue with the tea was that we weren't eligible to vote. Something about taxation and representation, I can never remember the details...
  3. Glimmer cap at 25k. Costs 50k to buy a shard.
  4. In the US, not eligible to vote in the UK.
  5. Steam link is broken, and search for the title doesn't turn anything up. *Edit - That visual style is gorgeous though.
  6. Looks neat, though the fact that your car is actually, officially called the "Magnum Opus" is pretty dumb.
  7. Wait, AI grunts aren't confirmed for Battlefront? Interest waning.

Yeah, unless they confirm the AI armies at this point I'm resigned to it really being Battlefield: Star Wars, which is not at all interesting to me.

Damn...I was just defending this game to someone saying it won't just be battlefield.

Guess I have some hat to eat.

I remember the campaign thing from Battlefront II where you play as that division of Stormtroopers. That was my favourite bit.

  8. I take games out of the backlog once I feel like I'm done with them, regardless of whether I actually "finished" them or not. For some games that means I've never even played it but I've realized I'm probably not ever going to and I'm okay with that.
  9. Maybe I'm just lucky to have a good ISP, but I'm skeptical about that since I live in the Middle of Goddamn Nowhere and only have one real option for broadband.
  10. I quit when DA:I came out and for an unrelated reason I had no free time, and then I just never picked it back up again. At this point I'm waiting til House of Wolves drops, at which point I'll play through the new content and probably drop it again.
  11. Yeah, but I think you'd have to go WAY into the future, several thousand years at least, before the different options become blurry enough that you don't need to distinguish between them.
  12. But if we're looking at 6-7 years before next gen rolls around broadband status in the US could be a lot different. It's certainly a lot better than it was when around the time of the PS360 launches.
  13. Yeah, the lack of insurance or something similar made upgrading any but the default cars a complete waste of money.
  14. That's an interesting outlook that I can kind of get behind. It worked so well that they felt like they needed to stick to that formula. Thankfully they started experimenting a little with Skyward Sword, and it looks like they're going to do even more of that with Zelda U.
  15. You know, people have been foretelling the end of discs for a couple generations now, and I've always been skeptical, but I think it could actually happen next gen.
  16. Killer Toilet? Or DK? You're probably thinking of DK, but I actually think he was more like Killer Toilet.
  17. TC? He was a member of the forum for about 2 weeks last year. He started some interesting discussion threads, but then would ruin them by going batshit crazy in them, declaring that anyone who disagreed with him on any point was obviously wrong/misinformed, constantly saying that there is plenty of evidence to establish his view as the correct one, but then never actually providing any of that evidence. I don't think he was trolling though, I think he just doesn't know how to discuss things with people. It was weird. *Edit - For the archetype, see the An Industry Doomed thread.
  18. I'm just putting this in here for future reference: I'm guessing the title is going to be either Mass Effect: Pathfinder or Mass Effect: ARKON, in that order.
  19. From what I can find, standard (non-mass-relay) FTL maxes out around 11,000x the speed of light (that's how fast Reapers can go, and they've had millions of years to develop it. Citadel-race ships from the time of the trilogy max out at around half that. At Reaper speeds it would take ~230 years to reach Andromeda, and at Citadel speeds it would take close to 500. If they, for whatever reason, decided to use a generation ship model rather than cryosleep then even just the travel time would put them far removed from the events of ME3. ME3 ending spoilers: For that reason, I think GOH's suggestion of the ships having left before the events of ME3 makes the most sense in the context of this game, but it seems contrived because it was never mentioned in the previous games. I'm skeptical that an apparently multispecies series of expeditions like this could be kept secret from all the high-clearance people on Shepard's team, and especially not the Shadow Broker.
  20. I really doubt it. Based on this information along with other rumors it seems like this is going to be set enough removed (both in time and space) from the original trilogy that they don't have to worry about accommodating different outcomes or choosing a canon one. That wouldn't really work if a member of Shepard's team was involved.
  21. I did not. I tried Dark Souls on PC, gave up after dying a couple times to the first real (non-tutorial) boss. I didn't like how far back it set me after I died from the boss, because then I had to go past a whole bunch of skeletons that weren't actually a threat to me but made it take way longer than I was willing to invest just to take another crack at the boss that would probably kill me again. If it had just sent me back to right outside the smoke door I would probably have kept at it. There was a big discussion about this and why I didn't like the design in the Souls thread if you care to look into it.
  22. Dear God, can you imagine the backlash if they'd tried to charge for DLC to "fix" the ending that everyone flipped their shit about?
