  1. My wife and I ordered e-bikes, for riding to work and other little trips that don't really justify using the car.
  2. I still find it fascinating how much you dislike Arceus. Again, no shade, you like what you like, there are plenty of games I don't like that are generally regarded as great, I just find it so interesting when it happens. Regarding my post (and speaking of a game I don't like that everyone else does), I definitely made the right call switching from Dying Light 2 to Mirror's Edge Catalyst, this game is so much better.
  3. Dying Light 2 I wanted to like this game, I really did, especially after hearing everyone praise the parkour. But it just has the same problem people always accuse Sonic games of: the fun part is going fast, but the game is designed to stop you from doing that. I liked running around the city, but every single mission revolves around either fighting hordes of zombies or sneaking slowly past them. Half the skill tree is parkour, but you only use it to get between mission sites. Not to mention that you start out with basically no skills, can't even wall run or slide, you have to unlock them, and fairly far down the tree I might add. And to add insult to injury, the combat they keep making you do instead of running isn't even smooth. I had the same issue with Dying Light 1, so this isn't surprising, but it is disappointing after all the praise. I just kept thinking I'd rather be playing Mirror's Edge*, so that's what I'm going to do. Grade: D *People also level the bad combat criticism at Mirror's Edge, which is justified, but it's a much smaller part of that game than it is in Dying Light.
  4. My wife beat it and says pretty much it was a lot of button mashing.
  5. I wonder if it will pan out. The navy's ship-mounted railgun system was cancelled last year, after a decade in development.
  6. lol, I don't know why, but the fact that one of the functions is called "is_on_the_floor()" cracks me up.
  7. Yes, I had that thought so I went back and checked. And some of it was stuff that involved new characters that were just introduced in this one, or things that were literally supposed to have happened like 5 minutes earlier. *Edit - Related to this, there is a recap video that was really helpful in knowing what was going on, but it's buried in the extras menu and never tells you it exists (I discovered it when I went to watch cutscenes on Youtube to make sure my game wasn't actually glitching and leaving stuff out). It should have asked you when you started a new game if you wanted to watch the recap.
  8. I'm hoping Gamefly will ship mine soon (I upped to the two disc plan because I didn't want to wait until I finished Chorus to get Pokemon, but then I finished Chorus the day after they shipped Pokemon ).
  9. Chorus This game was pretty cool. The best way I can think to describe it is it's like Crimson Skies x Ghostrunner. It's a semi-open-world space flight sim. The combat is great, in addition to regular guns and stuff you have all these psionic powers you can use. But most importantly, it's the first space flight sim I've ever played where you can "drift": cut all thrust and keep moving on your previous vector while you aim whichever way you want. You know, like real space combat would work. It's badass The missions are hit or miss, though the actual story missions are almost universally good (other than a couple of boss fights). I had a lot more fun once I stopped doing side stuff and just mainlined the campaign, which makes me think they should have just made it linear to start. The game is full of little missteps like that, but the core is really good, and the campaign is great, so I recommend it anyway. Grade: B with a --- Psychonauts 2 This game was also really good. Towards the beginning there was some issue with the editing that I assume is caused by its difficult development, like characters referencing things that never happened, or Raz magically knowing things that were never revealed, that kind of stuff. It was really grating and almost made me quit, because it broke my immersion every time it happened, but luckily it never happened again after the first couple of missions. The game itself is really clever. It's a good platformer with creative levels, though I do feel like each part tended to overstay its welcome a little bit. Because of the way it's set up you can't do like Mario and move on to the next level when you get tired of the current one, so it can drag a bit. But there was never a part I would consider badly done, all of it was at least good, I just sometimes wished I could move on faster. While the issues hold it back from being truly great, it's still really good, and I recommend it to anyone who's interested in a 3D platformer. Grade: B+
  10. The valkyries were the things that kept me from getting the platinum, but that was before I fully embraced playing games on baby-ass baby mode, so I'll probably get it when I re-play it before Ragnarok comes out. I would like the next place they go to be somewhere in mesoamerica, there's not enough of that in media.
  11. Yeah, I've heard the game performs dramatically better than it used to. It's actually decent on XB1X and PS4 Pro now, from what I hear.
  12. As soon as the next-gen update releases I'm gonna Gamefly Cyberpunk.
  13. I'm pretty sure I've said this before in this thread, but Psychonauts 2 reminded me: every game that has a "if you quit now all progress since your last save will be lost" should also have a "it's been X amount of time since your last save". Psychonauts 2 does that and it's so reassuring to see my last save was 7 seconds ago.
  14. I just realized none of us said Super Smash Bros Melee. We should all be ashamed.
  15. I 100% agree, Lost Legacy is my favorite Uncharted game by a wide margin. I didn't even think any of the games were good until Uncharted 4, and then I ended up really liking LL.
  16. They also announced they're working on a new IP alongside Destiny, so I doubt they're also going to be working on an existing Sony IP.
  17. I always thought Galaxy was too easy, and Galaxy 2 even moreso, but Odyssey I think was just right.
  18. Khajiit has power, if you have coin.
  19. That's funny, that was the experience I had with Super Mario 64 in that collection. It was groundbreaking for the time, but doesn't hold up anymore imo. Sunshine, on the other hand, held up better than I expected (I loved it when it came out, but was worried it would have aged poorly).
  20. The fact that you left off Wind Waker is an absolute travesty. The correct list: Exclusives: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker Super Mario Sunshine Mario Kart Double Dash Animal Crossing Pikmin Third party: Resident Evil Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader Sonic Adventure 2 Battle I honestly can't think of any games that I loved on the GameCube that aren't regarded fondly, it would have been Wind Waker but time rectified that mistake, so I just gave myself an extra exclusive.
  21. None at all, very few of the games I've been playing on Xbox are exclusive, so I could be playing them on PlayStation, but since I have both I'm playing them on Xbox because they're slightly better there/available as part of Gamepass. But most of PlayStation's exclusives are must-plays for me, so if I had to give one up it would be the Xbox, because I wouldn't lose access to as many of the games I care about that way.
  22. I've been playing a lot of games on Gamepass, so that's most of it, but some of it is also that Xbox is more powerful so lots of games run better there. It hasn't even been a month and my PlayStation is already turning into an exclusives machine like my Switch.
  23. Oh okay, I thought the PC version was also handled by Sony. Not that that wouldn't mean they couldn't gouge anyway.
  24. Psychonauts 2 I'm only about an hour in, but so far I'm really enjoying it. Hopefully the rest of the game stays this good. Also, playing on XSX and I am so torn between 4k60 and 1440p120. 4k is so crisp, but 120 is so smooth. Also, looking at my gamercard I just realize that none of my last 6 games are Playstation (Scarlet Nexus technically is but that shouldn't be there, I just launched it because I was messing with TV settings and needed an SDR signal to test). That is quite the flip from the last... 8 years? Jesus.
