I really thought they were going to do that too, and was already cringing in anticipation. -

Yeah, I do wish that All in all, though, I think they did a decent job considering the shit sandwich they left themselves at the end of Halo 5. -

I think it was a weird coincidence, honestly. But yeah, there were a bunch this year. -
Oooh, glowy.

It's definitely a possibility. You can use PSVR with Windows, but the tracking through the camera doesn't work, so you only have relative tracking and not absolute, and it tends to drift pretty quickly, but PSVR2 has inside-out tracking so it may not have that issue.

Looks cool, the foveal rendering especially should vastly improve apparent quality without putting too much strain on the hardware.

I was the opposite, I bounced off of Hades because I didn't feel like I was making enough progress with each loop, even with God mode on, but I loved every second of Returnal.

I just watched that Halo video and I want to say as someone who has played approximately infinity hours of every Halo game, I agree the vehicle explosions are lacking oomph, but I don't think there's anything wrong with the grenades or the impacts from the tank cannons or anything like that.

Scarlet Nexus This game is exactly the kind of Persona-lite that I love, like TMS#FE. It doesn't have the full life sim, but between dungeons you do little side activities to rank up your bond with your companions. It's no Persona, but it scratches the same kind of itch.

Yeah, this was a great year for games. And a fair number of the ones you beat that I didn't I have on my list to get to. -

And of course it wouldn't be me without the graphs! Apparently I kept my gaming pretty well spread out, there's a couple spikes but mostly it's right around 3/month. Obviously Playstation got all the love this year. I still have it divided between PS4 and PS5, but all of it was on my PS5, I just listed is as PS4 if it was backwards compatible instead of a native version. Next year I'm going to have to add Xbox in so I might stop making a distinction between current and last gen and just go by platform. PS4 and PS5 were pretty much tied for number of games, in fact PS5 had a slight advantage, but PS4 runs away with it in total playtime. That's because I played Mass Effect, Kingdoms of Amalur, and Surviving Mars all by backwards compatibility. Those three alone account for more than half of my PS4 playtime. It confused me that PC was so much higher than the rest, but then I looked and it's because I only beat two games on PC this year, Halo and Forza, and both were right around 27 hours. Apparently I leaned towards short games on PS5, and I think PSVR games in general are quite short, so that explains why that's so low. Next year I'm gonna put some green on the board! -

Yeah, that's kind of what I'd heard, and was trying to relay (perhaps poorly), that you will get more out of LaD if you've played the others, but it's the kind of stuff where if you haven't then you aren't going to notice that you're missing it. -
I really need to give House of Ashes a try.
-
lol, it's funny you say it's long, when I did the NG+ recently I was shocked by how short it was.

Looks like there's conflicting information out there then, because I've definitely seen the general info is "you don't need the others to follow this one, and won't feel like you've missed anything." I'll let you know after I play it. The rest of it's fair enough though, if you want to play them anyway then no sense in skipping them, especially since as I understand it LaD does have spoilers for the others. -

From what I understand, Yakuza: Like a Dragon is separate enough that if you haven't played the others you won't feel like you're missing out (though if you have you'll pick up on stuff you would have missed). -
Okay, this should be the final update for quite a while: (Not the main attraction, but the sound bar is back because I ultimately decided that while the TV speakers do sound better in a lot of ways they don't have the same oomph. It was a battle scene in The Expanse that made me realize it.)

No I'm pretty sure it does the 90's movie thing of "kid does something magical to divorcing parents and they realize they actually do belong together". Which is problematic for entirely different reasons. -
And another one, Hollow Knight. Like Subnautica, this game actually did grab me at first, but also like Subnautica, I don't feel like I have a good idea of what I even need to do, let alone how to go about doing it. I found a boss, but I'm not strong enough for it, and the game has not introduced any mechanics for getting stronger. I don't even have a dodge ffs.
