I've used them on PS5, but I never used them on PS4 so I can't comment on whether they're better or not.

Games You've Beat 2021 - PXoD's Excellent Adventure
TheMightyEthan replied to MetalCaveman's topic in General Gaming Chat
Yeah, it's different. It's definitely in the "weird indie game" category, you know the kind that starts off making a fair amount of sense, but starts to get more and more surreal as it goes on. -

Paper Beast This is a PSVR game, and I don't even really know how to explain it. You're going through these surreal, fantastical areas, populated by paper beasts, and doing some light puzzle solving, some involving reshaping the environment with sand/water/etc. It's amazing. It gave me more of a sense of place than I think any other PSVR game I've played. It also made me really really want a From Dust VR port. 5/5 -
Moss, for PSVR. After I finished Paper Beast the other day I played around in the creative mode a little, which lets you zoom out to where it looks like a little diorama. That really reminded me of the Moss demo, so I checked PSN and conveniently it was 60% off, the biggest sale it's ever had, so I bought it.

Maybe it will help that now the US has a president who wouldn't be cool with that...?

Yeah, there's no weapon breaking or anything like that. -
Fourplexes should be a minimum size, not an "up to".

Yeah, there are only two attack buttons, so you can easily play it as a button masher, but also combos are super easy, to the extent that even I used them, and I never used combos. They're always X number of light attacks followed by Y number of heavy attacks, with different combinations of X and Y yielding different specific attacks. It was a lot of fun. I tried to go play the Immortals Fenyx Rising DLC last night after I finished Age of Calamity though, and I keep hitting the wrong buttons (specifically crouching when I try to dodge is extremely unhelpful... ?) -

Yeah, it's fundamentally Dynasty Warriors gameplay, but with a Zelda plot, Zelda enemies, Zelda-style attacks, etc. Persona 5 Strikers is the same except with a Persona theme instead of a Zelda one. Unlike Hyrule Warriors 1, however, the story of Age of Calamity is actually canon. -
Having had some more time to think about it, I could see the "one cable" just being a USB-C cable that plugs into that port on the front, like how Oculus Quest works if you plug it into your PC. Although honestly, I've been playing PSVR games recently, and while the resolution could be better, I'm otherwise still quite happy with it. I kind of wish instead of making a whole new piece of hardware they'd just enable native PS5 support for PSVR. As of now the only way to play in VR is to run in PS4 backwards compatibility mode, which obviously has limitations beyond the headset's resolution.

I downloaded it, but it's hard to muster enthusiasm for a demo of a game that's not coming out until next year.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity I've never been a fan of musou games, but this one sucked me in with its connection to Zelda, and it being officially canon, and I actually ended up really liking the game itself too (I liked it enough that now I'm planning to get Persona 5 Strikers, which originally I had written off as not for me, as soon as it goes on sale). They did a good job tying the musou mechanics into the BotW world and enemies and stuff, and keeping some of the BotW mechanics that make sense (like perfect dodge). Also, the story was pretty compelling, and has interesting implications for BotW2. 4/5 - Would be 5/5 if I were a bigger fan of the musou gameplay. -
"Ever" is a long time, but yeah, it's a tough problem. I agree with you though, cloud cities are where it's at.

I wish they'd do a 4k60 patch for Shadow of the Colossus Remastered like they did for Ghost of Tsushima and God of War. As is on PS5 we've got 4k30 and 1080p60, which is unacceptable.

They finally got a way for you to import your 1 & 2 locations into 3 on Epic if you owned the previous games on Steam. https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2021-02-18-hitman-3-players-on-pc-can-finally-import-their-hitman-2-locations-at-no-extra-cost

Okay, it looks like from Hitman 1 to 2 you couldn't carryover your progress, just the levels. I thought that you could do both, like with Hitman 3.

So, Skyward Sword HD. Woohoo? I've always thought SS gets more hate than it deserves, but this has even me going "wait, why this game?" The HD ports of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess are right there, and you're bringing over everything else that was ever on Wii U... What I really want is an OoT remaster (or even better a remake), but I know that's too much to hope for, and I'd settle for a straight port to Switch a la Mario 64. Like honestly Nintendo, we will gladly buy your games over and over again, why won't you just sell them to us?! The other thing I really want is a remake of ALttP in the style of the Link's Awakening remake. I know we're early in the year, and a lot of the Mario celebration stuff they didn't announce until late summer/fall, but jeez, this is a disappointing way to start. Maybe we'll get an OoT/WW/TP HD collection, like Super Zelda 3D All-Stars, and SS will just be its own thing cause it's new...

I second this. Octopath is gorgeous, and I actually really liked the demo, but in the full game the way you collected characters, with each quest feeling like the first act of its own game, really dragged after about the third one. Other than that I really liked it, and I really really dig tactical RPGs, so hopefully this will be more up my alley.

That's a really good point about the health drops in Control. I don't actually remember having a problem with it in Control. I can't think of a specific game off the top of my head, but there have definitely been games where I didn't think the effect was pronounced enough for me to really notice it before it was too late to matter. Actually I can think of a specific game: Halo 4. That game was really bad about communicating to you that you were taking damage, there were multiple times I died without even realizing I was being shot, especially in the first few levels before I'd really adapted to the changes from the Bungie games.

Yeah, sorry, there's not a way to do it yet on PC, because of the move to the Epic store. You can on console though, and they're saying they should have it figured out on PC in the not too distant future.

After playing The London Heist I really want to try Blood and Truth. -
You could import your progress from H1 to H2 also.
-
Yeah, but it's not just Texas, the grid we're on mostly only covers us and Oklahoma, etc. There's like 8 major regional grids in the US, and they mostly don't connect to each other when they should.
-
Yeah, but I'd already basically 100%'d it so there wasn't a lot left to do anyway. Honestly, even now I feel it calling me back to redo that stuff, just cause it's so much fun... My precious...
