  1. My wife and I got a few episodes into that and decided it was more irritating than funny. Glad you liked it though.
  2. For reference, it was about the same quality as this video: ie, pretty good, specially when there's not a ton of fast movement, but definitely not as good as playing it on local hardware.
  3. My connection is 160/20 Mbps, I even ran a speed test during the demo to make sure that wasn't the problem and it showed 145/18 Mbps (which makes sense if the game was using the other 15/2). It looked okay when the screen was mostly still, maybe a little soft but not bad, but whenever there was a lot of fast motion it got pretty bad, like the bitrate was set too low. And latency was great, so it didn't feel like I had a bad connection, everything was very responsive, it was only the image compression.
  4. I just played the Immortals Fenyx Rising demo on Stadia (you don't need a subscription to Stadia to play it), and it was pretty good, definitely has me looking forward to the full game. It was played basically like a more fantastical Assassin's Creed Odyssey, though with even less emphasis on stealth. I actually liked the combat more than ACO though, I think because it was more fantastical, so like the dodge move was more like a blink, and took you farther, that kind of thing. The Breath of the Wild influences are even more apparent than they were in ACO too, but considering BotW was my game of the decade that can only be a good thing. Unrelated to the quality the game itself, Stadia is not as good as I remembered it being (coincidentally the last time I used it was the ACO demo). Latency was still great, barely even noticeable, but damn image quality was bad. I expected it to be like a Youtube video, but it's worse. Definitely not the way I would want to play games at home on the TV, though I can definitely see why it would be attractive if you don't want to spend $$$ on dedicated gaming hardware.
  5. I have been playing with God mode on since like my 5th run... ?
  6. I forgot about that game, but man it looks badass.
  7. Sony has released a free Black Lives Matter theme for PS4. EU - US
  8. Fiiiine, I guess I'll try Hades again after I finish Dead Space and Sleeping Dogs. lolwut
  9. I wouldn't say it's harder per se, it's just the ways it's hard are frustrating instead of fun, like with the camera and controls fighting you. There are plenty of games that have extremely precise controls but are still balls-ass hard, but when you know what you need to do and you know (theoretically) how to do it, but it just doesn't always work, that's not a fun kind of difficulty.
  10. Super Mario Sunshine This game is still amazing. Night and day difference from Mario 64. There's still a slight amount of wonkiness in the controls as far as getting Mario to do what you want, but it's so much better than 64. I was actually motivated to keep playing and get more shines even after I had beat the game, whereas with 64 I only slogged through the last 20 or so stars I needed to beat the game because I couldn't bring myself to give up. I'm probably done with it now, but I could definitely see myself coming back to get all 120. 5/5
  11. I have not played, DS3, this is the first time I've ever played DS2, and I'm not the kind of person who can play a series out of order. ?
  12. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition It was on sale for $15 on PSN, which was cheap enough to get me to bite. I was already planning to wait to play it on my PS5, but then I found out they've announced they're doing a PS5 upgraded version, which will be free to owners of the PS4 version, so I guess I'll probably wait for that...
  13. You would think people like that would know better than to enter the US...
  14. Dead Space 2 I wanted to play something horror-themed for Halloween, and even though I loved the original Dead Space I never was able to get into the sequel, so I thought I'd give it another shot. I think the problem was I was too familiar with the aliens since I'd just played the first one, and familiarity interferes with horror, but now it's been years so I'm hoping that effect has worn off. I only played for about half an hour so far, but it seems to be just what I wanted.
  15. Assassin's Creed Odyssey: Fate of Atlantis This is both better and worse than Legacy of the First Blade. It's all about the first civilization stuff, which I absolutely love, so that was good, but it's quest design was entirely busy-work based. Each section is essentially a ruler character telling you "Oh, you need to do this thing? Well I won't let you do that until first you do all these other unrelated things." It feels extremely tedious.
  16. Moving the goalposts is what politicians do best.
  17. Yeah, that UI is badass. I hope third party devs actually use the hints thing, because it seems way more convenient than pulling out my phone and trying to find something explaining it reasonably. I also really like that the activities give you an estimated time to complete, so you don't sit down with 45 minutes to play and end up getting into something that's going to take an hour and a half without realizing it. I hope those times are based on actual user data though, and not just developer estimates. *Edit - Others have noted that the PIP thing with your friends' games could be great for playing coop games too, so you can kind of keep an eye on what's going on with them.
  18. Don't you know? When adapting movies you have to change the setting and characters to make it as boring as you possibly can.
  19. Oh yeah, I'm not saying Assassin's Creed is going to be better or more interesting than Cyberpunk certainly, but since I am planning to play both of them on PS5, and Assassin's Creed has the full next-gen version available at the launch of the console, but Cyberpunk won't have it available until next year, I'll just wait until I can get the fully-featured version of Cyberpunk. If the next-gen version of Cyberpunk was going to be available at launch then I'd be making the opposite choice and holding off on Assassin's Creed.
  20. That all makes sense. I do want to say regarding scope, all the previews I've read/listened to make it sound like it actually feels quite good to play. You bring up a good point about bugs, which I guess is another good reason to wait for the next-gen upgrade next year, since hopefully any major bugs will have been patched by then.
  21. The embargo just dropped on a 7 hour hands-on preview for multiple outlets for Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and it looks like they fixed my every concern with Odyssey, so here we are. I obviously won't have enough time to play this, plus Miles Morales, plus Cyberpunk, so I'm thinking I'm going to cancel Cyberpunk and I'll wait to get it until the full next-gen upgrade launches sometime next year.
  22. Even though it doesn't serve a purpose regarding the specific confirmation of this specific judge, I do think it serves a valid purpose in showing voters what the two parties care about for judicial nominees, and therefore could influence which party you want in power.
  23. My guess is that most games work fine with the backwards compatibility system without any effort required at all from the devs, but a few of them would require tweaks to fix specific issues for those games, and of those few that require tweaks these are the ones that the devs said it's not worth it.
