Something being sleazy, underhanded and classless doesn't stop it from being effective. I am rationalizing it because I believe they are consciously writing the way they do because they're used to getting views based on that writing style. I am not giving them credit nor saying I agree with them, stop acting like I am.

Because if someone complains assholes stink, and I say it's because shit comes out of it, I'm defending the honour of buttholes?

Although I would like to point out, usually when someone wants to defend a publication it usually involves pointing out ways in which said publication is significant. You know, put them in a good, respectable light. Doesn't really say much if we defend a publication with "well, they want attention, this is how they get it". It's the same rationalization cheapo tabloid editors like to use. Defending them?

Kotaku isn't interested in becoming a hallmark of gaming journalism. They are interested in pageviews and popularity. Getting riled up over them being unprofessional is a waste of time.

I have no idea why I'd primarily use Steam for media and getting in touch with friends when I'm on a PC which has better solutions for both... It's a pretty silly comparison. Presenting opinion as fact is how you get pageviews. You get the attention of people who both agree with you and don't agree with you. Here we are, right now, talking about and linking to Kotaku over an opinionated statement, increasing awareness of the site and giving them more pageviews. It's not lazy, it's effective.

I honestly agree with this. Everyone is vilifying the guy based on speculation and theories. Theories which could be right or way off the mark. Despite the accusation being... pretty insane, I would also be upset if someone published my emails just like that.

I absolutely love the design on Rain. Doesn't stand out too much, but at the same time, not generic.

He doesn't play video games for a living, he writes about them. Big difference.

Regardless of how powerful your PSU is, don't cut corners with that one. If it dies, it might take some other things with you. Just general advice.
