  1. I saw a thread about someone working on a rebalance mod for the economy. Higher gold count for merchants, more expensive buy prices, lower sell prices. I found the main problem with getting gold in Skyrim was to find enough sellers in an area to buy all the stuff I was carrying.
  2. How can you read more than one book at once? You monster! On topic: I am... uh. I'm reading this thread? I dunno, haven't really read anything for a while.
  3. Don't you get it? That's part of the appeal for a lot of us. That it doesn't fit very well. You're mocking the very thing that makes it such an interesting mind-puzzle. Are you so blindly hateful that you have to keep coming in here to act like a jerk?
  4. Here's a terrible picture of me looking tired. I wasn't going to post it, but I'm bored now and I've posted worse pictures in the past, so whatever.
  5. I won't pretend to fully understand them or agree, but I feel their right to believe in this is as strong as anyone's right to believe in anything.
  6. While I... actually would quite agree with the spread of information being beautiful, I could not hold copying as sacred. For anyone interested, here's the English version of their website: http://kopimistsamfundet.se/english/
  7. http://torrentfreak.com/file-sharing-recognized-as-official-religion-in-sweden-120104/ So... Yeah.
  8. That is absolutely ridiculous. Patch your game. Fix the problem. If you need to, disable the dance command, but do not invent such ridiculous rules such as only dancing in specific areas.
  9. Yes, it's "vexing" when you completely misrepresent my opinion on something. I'm not saying "oh it doesn't count," I'm saying that Gordon Freeman is not so much a character as he is a blank slate. Most things about him is left unsaid because the player is supposed to feel like they ARE Gordon Freeman when they are playing. You can't do that if he has established character traits. Gordon is not straight, gay, bi or asexual. He's a blank slate. I backed out of that discussion on twitter because I didn't want to lose my temper. I kind of resent that you're bringing up our discussion after I backed off. You do not seem to understand what my point of view is, which I guess is fine. What is less fine with me is when you keep misrepresenting my point of view despite me trying to correct you.
  10. Yes, diversity would be good when it comes to race and gender as well (although there are female protagonists. Samus Aran, Lara Croft, etc.), but that doesn't make trying to reach diversity when it comes to sexuality a less noble goal.
  11. Strangelove, a large part of the point was that it's not about making a game about being gay, it's about making good games with characters that happen to be anything but straight, for diversity. Also, I find the idea that this topic - any topic - can't be discussed on sites like Destructoid to be highly offensive. Why should we censor it? @HH: I mostly agree with what you're saying. I feel that gaming should be pushed to be as good as it can be, in all areas, including writing. That it hasn't been done well in a mainstream title so far doesn't mean it can't be done well. That it might fail doesn't mean it shouldn't be tried! I can't comment on the case of Drake specifically, not having played the games, but I feel making him gay after the entire videogames press demanded it would be... far from subtle.
  12. I despise your simplistic depiction of our villainy! Protogirl (my main character) will fuck you up if you cross her or otherwise get in the way, but is quick to jump to the assistance of a fellow villain assuming that other villain hasn't wronged her in any fashion. Of course, the opportunity to smash some stupid heroes in their stupid faces provides additional motivation.
  13. I'm not sure we can assume that this screen cap is real. That said, however: Both WoW and SWTOR mostly lock based on minimum level requirements on quests. However, I have never heard of such a ridiculous banning in World of Warcraft. GM intervention and bans for willful exploitation of system mechanics happen, but only in serious cases, and almost always just a temporary ban (plus having whatever you gained through exploiting gets removed.) I think it is fairly ridiculous how MMOs keep handing out bans and other GM action to people who are just using the systems built into the game. Especially if you're a new game and the boundaries for what you consider OK haven't been explored yet, I don't think you should be handing out permanent bans that quickly.
  14. That's so typical of you Heroes players. Nearly every time I get attacked, it's by a group of three or more. We villains are supposed to be the bad guys here!
  15. @FDS: Doesn't mean it's not valid reasons to not like it. I use steam because it's worked great for me, and it continues to work great for me, and it has cheap games I can easily buy. If my experience with the program was like Fuchikoma's, I probably wouldn't use it. And yes, in that case, I would pirate any steamworks game. @Fuchikoma: I need to applaud you for this well-written response. It summarizes some of the most clear flaws Steam has, formulated better than any other similar commentary I've seen on the subject.
  16. As of right now, I have: -50% E.Y.E: Divine Cybremancy -25%, -33% and -50% Valve -25% Sega -25% Focus Home Interactive -50% Cogs -50% Rockstar Games -50% Nail'd -50% Oddworld: Abe's Exodus -50% Droplitz -50% Trauma -75% Aliens vs. Predator -50% Duke Nukem Forever I'm up for trading any of them, although I'm considering using the Aliens vs. Predator one myself so I'm not gonna let that one go as easily as the rest.
  17. I do not currently play. The technical issues (constant disconnects, unplayable lag, insane queue times) drove me out. Are those still happening? If not, I might go back in.
  18. Although Sherlock is like 90 minutes per episode. I've seen movies shorter than that.
  19. Jekyll is watchable, but nothing amazing. Sherlock, on the other hand... The first series is some of my favourite TV ever.
  20. Oh, I agree, add vents. I just couldn't find one that added vents without adding weird bad-sci-fi-spaceship-looking details and LEDs all over the place and whatever else. EDIT: I think I have found the most ridiculous PC case there is.
  21. This is what a PC case should look like IMO. Most cases I find with good room seem to be designed by a 10-year-old transformers fan
  22. I have never seen a PC case that wasn't either a minimalistic box or something insanely obnoxious-looking.
  23. Tangling with Mass Effect 2's DLC system has convinced me that EA has no idea how to please customers.

      Johnny

Having a system that takes me 25 minutes to figure out, only to find that the DLC packs cost more than the game itself, doesn't make me happy.

Steam does it right: discount the DLC and make it just a few clicks away.

    3. Saturnine Tenshi

      Saturnine Tenshi

Had the same problem with both Dragon Age games. \: Gave up.

  24. In regards to mispronunciations, all I have to say is: It's all part of language development. Pronunciations change over time. Don't feel too bad about it. =)
  25. The only thing I've got that's worth anything so far is a -50% Rockstar Games coupon. L.A. Noire is currently only -25%, so it would be cheaper with this. http://steamcommunit...black/inventory Still up for trading away any of my TF2 items, or the other coupons I have if anyone wants them for some absurd reason.
