  1. Could be good, could be crap. Looks like it'll be better than that Seventh Son. Still waiting on a film staring Melkor.
  2. At this point I'm not sure, beyond stuff like "special moves" n such, that any games really use "canned animations" these days. A big one that's been around a while though only noticed by some folks recently is "inverse kinematics". If you had canned animation then you'd end up passing through objects, but inverse kinematics means your skeleton reacts to the world around you, for example planting a foot firmly on a step or hill, rather than passing through it assuming you'll be on a level plane, as well as stopping your attack against swords n shields n what not.

    Valve

It's worth noting that at the moment for hosting and distribution Valve take 0% and have done for several years. I'd guess it's a thin slither of thier bottom line (and likely paid for by the 30% already taken for Skyrim sales in the first place). For payment fee processing they take a 12% cut on the cards, which is kinda high tbh considering payment processing is a flat rate (which they likely do in bulk anyway since they have their own digital currency to swill around, and minimum is £4 purchase). Though on other hand largely doesn't matter since most cards are like 10p a pop. 30% to share between Valve and Publisher makes a bit more sense n likely a bit more palatable. Also on a different game. Especially one that maybe doesn't have mods hosted on Nexus as well.
  5. As in stuff like I've only played a bit of a Zelda on DS....I'm not sure which it was. And I've only played Metal Gear Solid, and that was maybe about 2hrs worth, which oh gods folks weren't joking on the FMVs. Errm other than that not sure off the top of my head.
  6. I'd say in context he's fairly "monstrous". We've just become quite used to and desensitized to someone being blue n furry. Bear in mind in original stories he showed up in a fairly religious German town where they took him as a kind of demon. End of day blue n furry is what he is, it's never said if beneath it all he was still fairly ugly.
  7. On the whole "dumping Luke on Tattoine" thing, it's where Darth Vader was raised as a slave, and on his final trip there had his mother die in his arms. It's not a place he'll be going back to anytime soon. Especially given nature of the force n leaving imprints on places, it likely gives him the force heebejeebies. Other than that it is as noted in the film on the outer fringe of the galaxy, far away from the galactic centre and empire so unlikely someone might bump into either Ben Kenobi or Luke Skywalker n go running to Darth Vader to report it.

    Valve

Bethesda have also released a statement as well, though their initial statement is "hooray for paid mods", it seem there's wasn't a clear agreement/timeline between Valve and Bethesda on pulling the idea http://www.bethblog.com/2015/04/27/why-were-trying-paid-skyrim-mods-on-steam/ It's kinda pants they took it as "not a feature you want". It's a feature folks quite liked the idea of. It's the implementation where Bethesda get the largest 45% cut of the mod despite some (such as SkyUI) fixing their game. Seems Bethesda are maybe spitting thier dummy out that the little gold mine has faded into nothing. (Valve have stated their aim was to allow the paid mods to help fund the next gmod n such, but not sure how it planned to do that with only 25% going to the mod creator) Still the way Valve word theirs they intend to bring it back, just to bake it into a game from launch rather than coming in 3 n a half years from launch and adding it in. Valve have gotten halfway there with the likes of skins n hats n what not for CS:GO/TF2/Dota 2, but they're purely cosmetic n functionality baked right into the game. But mods for stuff like Skyrim is always along the lines of "make sure you've version 3.14 installed" n what not, and Steam has no way of running certain versions. And next to no proper refund system (maybe there's an idea they should test the waters with). Least with Dota 2 n the like it's a skin, you can see what it'll look like before buying. A mod could look fine on the screenshots but be shit in practice. A donation system seems like a better idea, though could easily be put in place with a PayPal button or something on the mod creators homepage (which PayPal would only take 5% as payment processor, rather than the 30% Valve feel their entitled to for payment processing).
  9. I'd need to see you holding a plunger to judge.
  10. Angel has wings as part of his mutation, but he loses them and becomes Archangel, who gets replacement wings from Apocalypse. http://marvel.wikia.com/Archangel
  11. Myself, Kenshi and ThursdayNext are all British which somewhat sways it in our favour on looking British. A fair few of us in general are British.
  12. Wait, when you say "this movie", just to check folks are aware Batman v Superman, and Suicide Squad (where Leto Joker is from) are two different films (though them releasing media for both so close to each other probs isn't helping much with keeping them apart). @SL: You don't mean Hamills Joker right? (Also the one from Arkham Asylum)
  13. So I'm at this bit. I actually had Dorian as my mage instead of Solas, but I was like "I need to bring Sera to this". So worth it.
  14. Interest piqued. I know Disney is throwing a fair bit into this one.
  15. Kinda amazing how large the scope is, only thing noted as being close is James Bond and that's really a massive string of sequels.
  16. There's at least one scene with many fist pumps. Yeah I'm in a "might go rewatch" kinda mood, cos yeah there's lots going on.

    Valve

Just found out not only does Valve/publisher take a 75% cut of the sale (wellll above the regular 30%), the mod creator has to make $100 (which on a $1 mod would be 400 copies sold) before they can cash out. For most part, since atm it only applies to Skyrim, most mods are on Nexus anyway.
  21. http://youtu.be/Du-eYiD9OfM Superman in colour It was pretty terribly coloured (well uncoloured even). Not a huge fan of DC's "let's make everything DARKNESS, NO PARENTS"

Pretty much the only okay thing they've done in recent years has been the cards/badges n workshop. Pretty much everything else tends to be ill thought out to the point I think they first few I mentioned were probably flukes. E.g when Greenlight first launched and all sorts of shit came through, and then solved with the $100 Greenlight fee which still locks out a fair few folks, especially from places where USD$100 is not a small sum of money). And the ongoing Early Access which still has nothing around it to protect consumers from half-baked games that get abandoned a few months in (or rushed to Version 1.0.0 despite not being finishedf-9) I guess this will provide a fun shit show to watch from the cheap seats though.
