Uncharted 3's stealth sections make it a better stealth game than any Splinter Cell game.

I don't think you even know what a stealth is!!1!

True fact: originally in that post I wrote Syphon Filter. After I hit submit I realized Syphon Filter and Splinter Cell are two separate series. Who knew!!

  2. It's like the number one played song at the pub I frequent so it's more a defacto thing.
  3. I recently triggered that quest. Knew of it from a while ago cos of the AC-FFXV crossover stuff (which at least is still around in AC. FFXV with its stupid limited time events). Wondering if I want to bother with it, but special gear I guess can be neat. Not like it'd ruin much given I'm wearing Ezio's gear most of the game so far.
  4. It's a bit of a "Direct to DVD" type thing over here too. While Shaun first showed up in Wallace n Gromit he's been part of his (kinda long running) TV show. Turns out they've had 150 (quite short) episodes. I'd imagine the film re-used a lot of the existing sets and such. Anywho watched Incredibles 2 with my dad n younger bro. It's decent, though the first is still far superior. I think the more cartoony look helps too, not sure why they felt the need to up the 'quality' of the models, especially giving them all eye bags for some reason. There was a few pretty great moments, but overall it was fairly obvious on the villain front, like I'm amazed they spent 10 minutes on the pizza delivery guy instead of like 30 seconds it deserved. Kind of spread itself thin on a few too many themes and subplots and they don't even wholly mesh together like in the first one with its big group pose scene. It's still pixar, so gold standard n all that lot, and i'd likely watch again but if given choice it'd be The Incredibles in a heart beat. We didn't get a briefing, we did get that Bao film though, which was slightly cute and yet slightly disturbing.
  5. I only knew of video cos I follow Brian Cox on Twitter. The length difference is weird too as there's bits in the video not in the podcast.
  6. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p06dmygk Figured this might be of interest to some Americans, and to appeal to them it's got DeGrasse Tyson on. A science panel, special 100th episode so it's been put up to watch on iPlayer and features a bunch of past guests. Including a vicar and reverend in "theology corner". Given how religion and science are usually put at odds in the US, or so it hugely seems, thought it might interest to see how CofE deals with it all.
  7. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/geekon/the-ultimate-boardgame-backpack I saw this on Facebook. Watched the video, it all looked kinda neat. Turns out it's $170+. Now boardgames aren't exactly cheap, but a bag for life is much cheaper, and same with the old granny trolley we used to wheel stuff around in.
  8. Probably. One of the ear buds had been the fritz anyway, but given I rarely have both in cos I like to not get ran over hadn't bothered me. So might just have been a coincidence.

    Pokemon Go

This is information that would have been useful some time ago! Also I like how my pokestop gifts I get are all "Victorian Indoor Market", "Old Town Post Office" "Town Obelisk", "the Golden Lion" (sooo many pubs are stops). And I get a gift from Jay now he's in US and it's from a mobile phone shop. The deep and rich Us history and culture!

    Pokemon Go

Let's be friends in Pokémon GO! My Trainer Code is 1984 0058 4812! Also really bummed to find out the Squirtle community day wasn't really a "day" but a few hours. I found this out an hour after that finished.
  11. Got me some of these on order: Got back from night out to find my current headset no longer works. Anker have been good to me in the past, and I'm fairly happy with this kind of bluetooth headset form factor at this point. Also got Baby Driver on blu-ray...which my mum currently has.
  12. Persona 5 was on sale for like the first time ever (usually still like £50), so grabbed it. Probably won't be booting until like August mind.
  13. Fancy new stunt bots from Disney. I wonder if you'd still enjoy as much knowing it's robots doing all this.
  14. Witcher 3 Samurai Jack style.
  15. I'm about 10hrs or so in too. I guess I wasn't expecting "souls", but yeah a sort of 'reboot' was expected with this. I guess in many ways it is quite different. I was tickled to see they've got back the syndication tower thingies (though mainly to enable fast travel), which I'm fairly sure they got rid of in Syndicate (though it's been a while since I played that). The inventory system is a bit...clunky. Reminds me a bit of Mass Effect 1 with its big ass list. It's weird cos the "mouse pointer" type control is pretty much like Destiny and I think that did quite well for an inventory UI, especially with the frequency you get new weapons n armour. I agree he reminds me of Ezio, can't quite place my finger on why.
  16. Casual shout out to @TheMightyEthan for putting the E3 games into the calendar.

      I know, I know, I'm the best.

  17. Bought "Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes" for PSVR. Popping round to a mates this weekend n planning on having a fair bit of PSVR/PS4 co-op playing n such.
  18. https://nyko.com/products/pixelquest-arcade-kit-for-nintendo-switch This seems pretty neat and well priced. Would site with your Labo quite well too.

    Steam

I would not be surprised to find some kind of shrine to "The Algorithm" at Valve. Probably hooked up to Vives with fleshlights so they can really show how much they love leaving all their work to "The Algorithm". Any who you can filter games to 1,179 featuring nudity, but want to find LGBT games? You're presented a much more limited choice. Also the whole "illegal or troll games" is one of those things that you can't just leave as a throwaway line in official policy. That's the kind of thing that needs like a fair few pages of clarification. What is to "troll". For years BBC used "trolling" instead of "bullying", in the past "trolling" was putting up a Rickroll. And by which countries definition of "illegal" will games be blocked? Will Valve apply US laws globally or make sure that games apply to regional limitations such as the restrictions on Nazi content within Germany? With rules impacting "lootboxes" will those be removed due to gambling laws? As they expand into China will any game referencing Taiwan and Tibet be removed? Will games with LGBT representation be removed for not fitting some countries laws? I've quite a chunk of my gaming collection on Steam so it'd be a bitch to completely pull away from them, but they're certainly no golden angel come to save gaming. Gaming is certainly not as big as presidential elections or EU referendums but maybe in light of all controversy surrounding these if I was Valve I'd be rethinking my over-reliance on algorithms n letting people self-police the store and community.
  20. Depending on what email service you use you could set up strict filtering. Only things in your contact list will come through as normal and everything else marked as spam. I guess it doesn't get rid of the problem but makes it less of a concern. Just need to check in your spam everynow n then.

    Soccer

So I figured I'd get in on some of the world cup fever, n since it popped up on my PS4 anyway, gave the Eng-Tun match a watch in the VR app https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44038006 Can get it on Google Cardboard n Oculus/Samsung too. It's alright, not sure it'd at all ideal way to watch a game but it's certainly different. The tiny guy that joins you in the skybox is a bit fucking creepy though. Also I tried to take a screenshot to share but quelle surprise it's all blocked content.
