I just kinda used Tesco as an example of a supermarket in the general "cheap n cheerful" spectrum compared to that of Sainsburys, Waitrose, Marks n Sparks etc.
-
AFAIK they're the only supermarket that does Nectar points. Sainsbury's is no Waitrose, but it's still no Tesco. Ooh, Nectar cover Just Eat now. Hmm, might have to figure how you hook them up (for all my jabs I do actually have a Nectar card, but that's for when Amazon was a partner and it was useful.)
-
I think lots of people have been thinking about removing the vote at next election.
-
Oh looky who shops at a place that does Nectar points. And then has nightmares about not getting any.
-
Oh, I kinda wanted to keep it for posterity, at least til next election, but TTFN I guess.
-
There we go, added in a new poll, though you'll need to re-vote in the first (I could just remove that I guess..but meh)
-
Yeah, gotta say it's looking fun in the sun over here. Just kinda sitting by, counting down the days until US starts another global recession in the space of about 5 years.
-
So yeah there's a theory on that

Yeah, seems a bit like Twitter. (And Facebook too now)

Hey it's the Friends App. Functionality isn' too bad, but the visuals and navigation is a bit..eurgh. A feed would be kind of nice to have on Steam, just go "oh hey Person X is playing Dota 2, I might pop in and play with them if I played Dota 2". Instead just have the somewhat static Friends Activity feature.

Might and Magic Clash of Heroes on my phone. It's a bit temperamental, and could do with some pointers on how to navigate around. I had to end up on the web searching for tips after the first battle as there was no indication of how to move around in the overworld. (You move by tapping on these pads around the overworld, but the one to head back to camp was now off the screen. Turns out you're meant to swipe down at that point to move). In battle, despite having a sizeable phone and it's meant to work on iPhone too, it can be a bit of a pain when it takes your unit movement taps as a unit deletion tap. Both taking up a turn and removing a unit from play (and Elite units are permanently killed when that happens). The strategy elements are nice, though two mechanics, Walls and Fusion, are incompatible with each other due to the field size which is a bit of a bummer. Kinda nice that it ties in with uPlay as it meant I could spend my points from other games on a few in-game items (though yet to get to wherever it is you unlock them in-game). I kinda wish more services acted like that. Visuals are pretty crisp too, except for the field units being a bit pixely.

I had a dream the other day where elements involved making fake snow for a supermarket (I've never worked at a supermarket) and later on somehow ended up driven around fields at high speed in a landrover by the queen.

At least Windows 8 finally gives you the option to remove the adverts that have plagued Minesweeper and Calculator all these years.

Y'all realise I haven't updated this yet right? edit: Now I have. I swear I'm forgetting some recently announced handheld device but..meh. Plenty room in that spot. Bit of a bummer I couldn't rearrange the responses.

Huh. I've just never had them before now. My Terror mission also went over really quickly too. Normally it's on a highway, but this time it was at a bar/library and there was only two of the terror aliens, main pain was a few groups of floaters.
-
Wooh!! Got to the alien base! Got laser weapons and armour. Wooh! Got killed by the titan things. Wooohhh!! Only took me like over a year to do it. In fact quite a few things have been different in this playthrough. Pretty sure the "taking Canadian traitor with you" is a new mission type (used to be you'd cross the map to meet them, then walk them back. And it was to save not capture them).

http://www.thealternativelimbproject.com/# Some weird designs. But at the end of the day you can what you want with a limb that ain't there.

The Morrison's and Canon one not being able to rework out the square of 2 is a bit :/ "Should you wish to learn a foreign language, this comes with lessons". I like the scoring piss take for accuracy

So yeah, 10 seconds of Korra means it was a good episode. Cherry on top would be to have some Vacation Tenzin & co. Kinda hoping it picks up somewhat.

Hey, they had Baldurs Gate, KOTOR, Jade Empire, Neverwinter behind them and Mass Effect and Dragon Age had gone well. And then..Dragon Age II took the sheen off and Mass Effect 3 just blowing it all up.

Much like Jay I'm throwing out games I think define the generation than ones that are necessarily my favourites: Wii Sports - Pretty sure the most played game of the generation, and one of the most defining games in the "motion controller" category of games that have been a defining part of the generation. Uncharted - One of the earlier "cinematic" games on the generation. Which I'd say is another big trend we're seeing with the aping of film in various games, right down to this week seeing a film quite proudly sporting "Ellen Page | Willem Dafoe" on the cover and posters. Skyrim - For showing what a huge leap can be made from the start to the end of the generation while still generally remaining the same, for showing that the anti-UGC policies of console manufacturers are balls, and that PS3 gamers are generally easily ignored. Special mentions: I'd like to throw in Minecraft because I think it's quite the defining games given it's not only a super successful game, super successful indie game, but also one of the major spawns of "let's plays". But it'd be for the PC version and rules n all. I also would have loved to put in Portal 2 for "firing off the big trend this generation with cross platform multiplayer and co-op" but we all know that went nowhere. And I avoided adding in COD 4 cos it's been nominated enough already so I'd slip in another title. Oh and Mass Effect 3 for creating palpable disappointment and anger for a studio that could beforehand do no wrong.

Except we just watched a video of it in action, with how it handles, showing not only the in-game footage, but also how he's controlling it at the same time. So..errm..yeah, no idea how it handles.
-
Today is/was national coming out day btw.
-
Yeah, not quite sure how that one works. I guess it could also be biased to suggest controllers don't work well for FPS titles either compared to kb/m?
-
It could be a non-shit trackpad, but it's still a trackpad and still not quite the mouse replacement I'm thinking they're hoping it would be.
