  1. My sister has apparently been singing this non-stop since seeing Kingsmen, but punctuated with headbutt motions.
  2. It had Keith David in it, how could it have ever been bad?
  3. Yeah it's a bit weird because I do remember reading/hearing about it being a show that was more...anthology style but nope it's a continuing arc thing. It actually ended quite well as a singular piece, but then yeah got the "coming up in star trek discovery" and it was focused around Micheal(was that her name?) rather than a bunch of semi-standalone episode/arcs.
  4. I bought Drifter. And cos I used PayPal and because of recent PayPal related issues it is officially the most expensive game I've ever bought.
  5. It's funny to see the animated side already far exceed the live action side in having a kind of "cinematic universe" set up (several of the films do link up, continuing from Flashpoint Paradox). It's a shame (though for 30 films, understandable) that it's over $200. Also:
  6. My first playthrough of FFIX I didn't know you could hit "Select" and have a Moogle pop out on the menu to explain things. E.g mainly the passive status effects which I'd kinda just guessed at and would have done well to know that "Temperature" would make me immune to Heat in the latter parts of the game. Closer to Dans stuff I guess is stuff like Sutaki-Da-Ne in FFX.I don't tend to play much games with outright nudity n the like.
  7. MGSV is in Octobers PS+ line-up so that saves me a few quid. https://blog.eu.playstation.com/2017/09/27/your-playstation-plus-games-for-october-are-metal-gear-solid-v-and-amnesia-collection/
  8. I've just realised the new Mordor game comes out in a couple weeks, and I can now 'easily' afford new games again. A bad combo :P

      Mr. GOH!

You could also get the fantastic Divinity: Original Sin 2 or the wonderful Total War: Warhammer 2.

I haven't enjoyed a Total War game since the first Rome.

Those were suggestions for Dean. Your disdain for excellent games is well- known, Ethan.

  9. A fancy letter opener for you business types https://www.thinkgeek.com/product/jspt/
  10. Websites that talk about something external of the site, but all the links in their article link to like internal tags so you end up having to go somewher else just to actually do what the article is talking about. In this case it was PC Gamer talking about the Lawbreakers free weekend...with no mention (or links) on what platform that was through, but three internal pc gamer links in a 200 word article.
  11. Anyone else watching Discovery? I'll continue giving it a watch, but I'm really really thrown by how dark it is. Even the Abrahams Trek is bright and sparkly so it's not some kind of "oh but modernisation". I'm also suddenly aware that might think "dark" as in "grim n gritty", but I mean as in "everything is shades of black and grey". Also their tripod is fucked, really need to fix that third leg, every shot is off at a tilt. Do it in the space bits for sure but it looks pretty dang stupid otherwise. Also:
  12. I only half watched it with my siblings, but it was pretty dang charming. It was good enough that it's getting a sequel.
  13. Wow, someone totally missed the charm of Peter Rabbit didn't they. And certainly didn't watch Paddington. Also James Corden is a knob.
  14. Kingsman: Golden Circle Watched this one with my mum, so just like in Atomic Blonde there's a sex scene isn't there. I wonder if I was to go see Thor with her (she's like zilch interest mine) then the universe will align to end up with an 18-rated cut. Anywho, it's a perfectly fine film but I feel it tried to repeat a bit too much of the first one. Didn't help we'd watch the first one before heading out, and it was a lot smarter film. This one was a bit sloppy in its structure and a few too many bad guys, robotic arms are a bit old hat at this point compared to sword prosthetics. In fact on the "old hat" thing the music choice was a bit sub-par with the era of GotG and Baby Drive I guess I just expect a bit more thought in songs than multiple covers of "Take Me Home, Country Roads" and various ill-fitting Elton John songs. The first was pretty good on this front, especially with "Bonkers" and the Dire Straits opening. There's also like zilch mention of the massive attack in the first film which lead to likely thousands dead, if not more, a bunch of heads of states no longer with heads. And yet weirdly loads of people using old iPhones still despite phones being the primary cause. The Stateman opened up new doors, but the bad guy never really ever felt like a threat and some of the beats to it (par one unexpected one) were pretty by-the-numbers. There was a baddie in it who I felt would have been a bit more effective and interesting but mainly just a henchman. Anywho this is a slight spoiler but a relevant gif for a bit of the film:
  15. hah, hadn't noticed that. I wonder if the "SUV" in latin characters is down to being an American car type(we don't really have "SUV" as a thing over here either).
  16. I would guess it's just machine vision in the same way that self-driving cars work, by the looks of it the majority of labels seem to be quite common which I'd guess are "pedestrian/bike/car/bus" etc, and I'd imagine something on speed and such.
  17. Also if you're on the Discord (you should be), Dan has put in a channel just for game deals (primarily free shit).
  18. Yeah it looks pretty cool, guess he liked the experience of making Fantastic Mr Fox. Cool to see more stop motion coming out.
  19. So to go with my first sentence though: I literally can't find anything about Metroid Prime 4 being made by /any/ Bethesda studio beyond a fan-theory/conspiracy-theory-ish post on NeoGaf where the leap of logic is "Metroid Prime 4 is coming to Switch, it's an FPS. Doom isan FPS, Doom is coming to the Switch. Ergo Bethesda are making MP4". But yeah, not sure anyone hasn't noticed but Arkane have literally just wrapped up on Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, id are currently in the process of launching Quake Champions, Machine Games are doing Wolfenstien, and I think we can safely say that Bethesda GameWork are working on either/or TES:Online or TES:VI at this point. Pretty sure that would be the much more financially sound choice given they make a shit ton more money off that than doing second-party work for a single console. (also it isn't a "well duh" given that Skyrim for Switch is on Creation Engine, Doom for Switch is idTech, and anything else they port is whatever that is. Bethesda as a publisher aren't exactly on some unified engine like EA with Frostbite. And given the studios that publish with Betheda aren't just called "Bethesda Montreal" or whatever and quite clearly Arkane/id/Machine Games/etc I'd say it makes sense to refer to them as such)
  20. me: "I have a job, I should probably not save" In this case my phone has been on the fritz for a while with weird charging issues, and atm doesn't actually even work as a phone (which isn't a huge loss since it's not like anyone uses phones as phones anymore but does mean it's a bit akward for real-time communication when out the office). And since I quite liked the flexibility of buying sim-free I have done that again and grabbed a... OnePlus 5. Should arrive next week. And next month I'll be upgrading a bunch of my wardrobe that's gotten a bit tatty over my unemployment (i.e a new coat and shoes mainly that'll look a tad more professional). And I think in November, since I've just been to a chamber of commerce event and felt quite undressed, I'll get a suit. Though mainly wanting to be slimmer by that point.
  21. I can't find anything about it. Also just a heads up that Bethesda Softworks is not Bethesda Game Studios. Doom is an id game published by Bethesda Softworks.
  22. So I've just started Rise of the Tomb Raider, and not much of a Tomb Raider person on the previous games (apart from locking up the butler in the freezer), are Trinity a common enemy in them then or something new brought about for the new run of games and the film? Also I wonder if this film will have bits where she straight up dies...then redoes it again. Heck even if they do it in some timey-wimey way like they did with Angelina and Jorah in the first film. (bonus GoT-Tomb Raider stuff: in the second the bad guy is Mance Rayder.. This implies that "Ornela" of the Dosh Khaleen will be the baddy in this one).
  23. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2017-09-20-could-the-switchs-secret-game-be-a-tribute-to-nintendos-late-president So there's apparently an embedded game in the Switch that Iwata worked on back in the day, meaning that he's sort of part of every Switch that's gone out. Dang that's sweet.
