  1. They're a bit of both, it's something the directors have spoken of in that in theory this run of films can run into the scenarios seen with the original film(s), though yes falls apart a bit with later PotA films. The first of the new run has a background mention of an astronaut being sent off into space. Obviously the most recent one covers the "humans not speaking", and also to a degree I believe one of the later films with the nukes. Though whether it's the humans or the apes who "blew it all up" is up to you decide (obviously it's heavily implied it's the humans, though in this run we know the humans never even really had a chance to use nukes so it's possible apes fuck up and manage to). It is a surprisingly solid trilogy. Some people seem to have grievance with James Franco but I thought he was good, the alzhiemers plot was touching with John Lithgow doing quite well there. When War hits disc I'll certainly be picking up the trilogy on BD.
  2. It's £18 over here, not really cheap enough to bite just yet.
  3. First game but prettier I guess? MP adds something new though. I should complete the first at some point.
  4. It uses transparent PNGs and 100*100 as a minimum size, and in square format.
  5. I can add to the new Reactions functionality btw. To demonstrate this I've added in a reaction that's pretty much for @MetalCaveman (not my aim, was just looking for something I could add). If anyone has any ideas I'm open. Or maybe the current range is fine. I'm tempted to replace the current ones with stylised Mario faces if I could find something that'd fit what's in my head.
  6. Pretty sure attacks on journalists, politicians and..err maybe not talk show hosts, are par for the course in nazi tactics so yeah I'd say there's a reason he struggles to condemn neo-nazis.
  7. One of the newer DS4s in black. They seem to be on sale but also out of stock across a bunch of places (Argos being the first place I noticed the reduced price). But amazon has them in stock and a quid more than Argos price but still a chunk less than the usual £50. So yeah, I now own two DualShock 4s which should appease my siblings.
  8. GOG are giving away Deadlight and doing one of those loot box thingies where you can get random crap or newer stuff https://www.gog.com/pinata

    Help!

I would have assumed it was an outdated plugin, but it seems there's login issues even with their support site so I'm gonna guess it's just a coincidence on me updating this place and they're having general login issues.
  10. Atomic Blonde Watched this with my mum and her partner (which if you've seen the film you'll know is not a great idea). It wears its graphic novel roots proudly, and is a very slick and stylish film(opening with spray painted credits and a neon title should clue you in quite early on). Great soundtrack too. I'd say that "female John Wick" is a simple comparison though hugely lacking. The fighting I guess is somewhat realistic in that people get winded, they're wrecked and knackered after long fights rather than the Bourne equivalent of getting up n then doing a cross country run right after fighting off some thugs. The core part of the story is that of a cold war thriller, framed by the interrogation/debriefing of Charlize Therons character. It's pretty solid film of deception, deceit and mistrust of the late cold-war 80s around the fall of the Berlin Wall. Of note for my screening: There is a bit where she wields some keys in her hand as a weapon and jams it in a guys cheek which was not appreciated by my mums partner but I thought was quite funny as he's going through the rest of the fight with a set of keys hanging off his face. Oh and kinda cool gamer related note: this fight is in an east Berlin cinema while Stalker is playing in the background. There's also a lesbian sex scene with "that girl from the mummy film".
  11. (they've other IMAX related videos too) I can see why IMAX isn't hugely used. It's extremely fiddly, especially compared to the modern digital workflow where you ship out a hard drive.

    Help!

As in Tapatalk? or the mobile/tablet sie?
  13. Fair enough, can take a week off. tbh I should probably figure out where the physical game club is.
  14. There's playlists that put more of the songs together(if you wanna search), this is the official Spotify upload though. It's a pretty decent soundtrack both in arranged music and original music. They had a couple remixes (including the Blue Monday here) of songs of the era too, including the somewhat on-the-nose 99 Luftballoons. I'll post more of my thoughts on the film tomorrow, it's just turned 1am here.
  15. Final Fantasy games half-price over at HiB https://www.humblebundle.com/store/promo/final-fantasy-weekend I'll obviously recommend FFIX, but FFX is good for £10 (especially as it's two games for that price). I've not completed it, but found Last Remnant intriguing and might scratch an itch for some folks. Stacking is also 80%off for a pretty cheap game that I found kinda charming and unique, albeit a bit short (but for the price of a steak bake can't really complain) https://www.humblebundle.com/store/stacking http://store.steampowered.com/app/115110/Stacking/ Same with Costume Quest http://store.steampowered.com/app/115100/Costume_Quest/ A great purchase for younger relatives as a "my first JRPG". You might as well get this very weird bundle though http://store.steampowered.com/sub/53813/ (weird in that it makes Costume Quest 2 much much cheaper than if you just got CQ2 on its own) Android has some decent deals too: Her Story is ~50% off https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.MrSamBarlow.HerStoryGame Duck Tales: Remastered is ~70% off https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.disney.ducktalesremastered_goo Doom & Destiny (and Advanced) are also more than half off https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hb.doom_and_destiny https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hb.doom_and_destiny_advanced (though no idea on the differences and their description doesn't clue me in) And Infinity Loop Premium is currently free. I've got this, it's not exactly a challenging puzzle but kids find it amusing since it's easy enough and usually the puzzle resolves into some familiar shape https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.funlab.looppremium btw this site is quite overwhelming but otherwise kinda useful for finding PC game deals across a large variety of platforms (and if you have a public profile you can import your Steam games and wishlist, and on a couple other platforms too though to varying degrees of fiddlyness) https://isthereanydeal.com/#/
  16. Yeah I've ran an update (it's a 0.X update, so not huge but not just a bug fix)

Ha, I was about to ask if the fluid view thing was new. I like it, should make it easier to catch active threads in sections I wouldn't normally check regularly.

Also, just FYI, I think the update borked the dark theme a little. At least, I'm assuming the white outlines around everything aren't meant to be there because it doesn't exactly look good.

Yeah Fluid view thing is new. Also you guys with the "I miss stuff" obviously use this place completely different to me. Activity - All Activity gives you pretty much everything.

As for the Dark theme, yeah themes are usually a victim of upgrade, but I'll be grabbing an updated dark theme this weekend.

  17. Just to let you know I've find a non-expansion version of Abyss that works okay, and in seeing a a youtube video I now understand how Zombicide works in TTS (though I'd still need to refresh myself on the actual rules in that front). Rules for Abyss are grabbable here https://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/105813/abyss-english-rulebook (Ideally read in a PDF reader that can do two page spreads since it's laid out to be a wide spread, there's a lot of pictures of the board and how plays work n such). And for Zombicide: https://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/85147/zombicide-rules-summary-and-reference-cards (it's a summary rule set but covers most things players need to know, and tbh the set up is done by TTS) As for this weekend, I'm going out to see Atomic Blonde on Friday night but otherwise I'm free all weekend. Which might also mean I'll maybe take the time to source rules for all the above games too, it's just these two were perplexing me. And I know that Goh isn't keen on CAH but I've got a pretty sweet workshop version of the game if others had grabbed TTS and were wanting a more casual fare.

    Hardware Porn

I'll put this here cos it's ultimately a kind of fancy speaker thing. It's pretty dang cool, and the internal lighting/lightening makes it even better. Just not $4,600 better.
  19. I'll believe it when I see it, though it seems the delivery method is using the newer "nano injection" stuff. Meant to be better for most patients since it doesn't using big ass needles and can apply injections the same way you might stick on a nicotine patch. Uses tech based on nettles I believe.
  20. I'm still pissed off years later that the implementation of Steam Cloud (still early days) of Rock of Ages meant my save got accidentally deleted. Never mind if a game was to do it on purpose.
  21. https://techraptor.net/content/fantasy-flight-announces-fallout-the-board-game FFG are making a Fallout board game. Looks kinda neat, though a bummer it's FO3 and FO4 focused. I'm down for giving some 1 player games a shot.
  22. I think most of it is down to reducing robot hacks, it kinda slows them down a lot and given that a chunk of places have had their password databases hacked and people carry on using the same passwords for multiple places. The fact that Google and Microsoft both have that process in place tells me that while it may be an annoying step it's also a bit of a required one. Unfortunately until something other than passwords are created as a security measure we'll be dealing with incumbencies like that above.
