  1. I've no opinion of Media Matters. My implication was Fox News is perfectly capable of embarrassing and discrediting themselves.

Unrelatedly, my wife and I are going to the one semi-nice restaurant in town and then coming home to make sweet, sweet love.

  6. http://boingboing.net/2012/02/13/bittorrent-doesnt-hurt-us-bo.html Probably applies to video games too.
  7. Beauty and The Beast I've not seen it for a while, it's good classic Disney n all that, but it is a tad rough. The pacing of the film is way too fast, The Beast pretty much goes from "WHY DID YOU COME HERE!!!" to "I wuv you Belle" within a few scenes. The animation is a tad rusty too, but Disney has never really been of top form in animation, always generally middling between the cheapness of TV cartoons and the top quality of stuff like Ghibli. It does have some classic songs though such as Tale as Old as Time and Kill the Beast n all that. Be nice to see the Disney musicals come back.
  8. http://tech.fortune.cnn.com/2012/02/10/google-santorum/ A look at the "Spreading Santorum" google results and why it's not Googles problem, but Santorums. Some more discussion on the matter here: http://searchengineland.com/why-does-bing-hate-rick-santorum-110764 Just kinda follow the links about I guess.
  9. I may, but I was pretty damn sure it was fucked up. As I said I ended up watching some videos of "how to do it" too and they didn't end up like how it was going on my end. I was even up for streaming it in chat just to prove I wasn't insane.
  10. I'm fine with this as long as the cutscene is either skippable or there's a save after the cutscene. The cutscenes are right after the save, in fact with some you start out of cutscene, walk forward, initiate cut-scene, then boss fight. Rinse and repeat if you die. You can skip the cutscenes, but it's awkward on PC, though FLD seems to think otherwise. @FLD: How did you kill Angelo?
  11. Iron Sky is doing to be...a weird one. Certainly a cult film in the making.
  12. Shank. It had the oddest ending though, you kick this bazooka out a guys hand and then the uninstall sequence pops up on Steam and hey it turns out you beat the game. So yeah just some pro-tips for anyone out there wanting to make a game: a ) Do not make it so that the button to pick up the limited health drops in a boss fight is also the same button as the basic attack. It may surprise you but not everyone needs a pick me up at 95% HP b ) Don't put a cut-scene right before the boss fights. c ) Don't make it so that you then need to put the controller down and push space to skip cut-scenes. Especially in a game that starts with "we suggest you use a controller". So yeah, kinda glad this was one of those HIB titles, and I'd certainly not recommend it.
  13. http://geek.pikimal....d-environments/ Some snippets of info, and a trailer is due next week. All very timely considering last night in chat I was moaning about wanting info on it.

So, short notice but anyone up for this later? I'll say maybe 8:30 ish? I might be on earlier, depends how fast I am at rustling up dinner. If anyone is on with their PS3 and shown interest or been on before I'll basically just invite you in to matches. I guess I'll have to remember to enable the in-game alerts this time too (I turn them off for films)
  16. Yeah I find as the hype goes up past a certain point, even if the game is pretty damn good, there's just not as much enjoyment in it as a comparable lesser hyped game.
  17. Now then mardy bum, I've seen your frown and it's like looking down the barrel of a gun.
  18. Battle LA Pretty by the numbers film. The fact that at the start of the film we managed to pick up on nearly everyone that would die didn't help. Even a few we even managed to guess how they'd die. Oh that guy, he's nervous, young, he's going to die doing a valiant sacrifice to prove his worth. Ben made a good point that it kinda blew that there was practically zero coverage of civilians, you pretty much follow the army squad from start to finish. Good effects, not exactly a terrible film, just a bit dull and predictable.
  19. So I see these posted up fairly often (normally with people, not OSes of course, but this was the one at hand), how common are they in the states to have these stickers on rear windows showing the family numbers off? p.s do they have any .4 children stickers?
  20. PSA: It's not a "leap of faith" to not believe in something for which there is no proof. A "leap of faith" is in fact the opposite: believing in something for which there is no proof to base your belief on. AKA "Gut instinct*" and "a move from Assassin Creed series" *though a gut instinct tends to be based upon experience too, for example my gut tells me that everyone else will be late to the pub. Again. edit: Yeah I'm aware this post probably makes little sense now battra edited his comment and I only quoted part of it.
  21. Just to throw this one out there but "relationships" and "sex" aren't the same thing. Closely related, but not the same. You can love your mum dearly, but you don't want to fuck her. Same as you'd maybe want to have your way with the Page 3 lass, but not want to date her. This may blow your mind but there are people that can love other people regardless of the equipment between their legs too. There's also women considered tomboys and men considered feminine. Not all men and women are born of a defined mindset. That'd get boring anyway. Also I'm off to pub in like 15 minutes, why did this thread get interesting at this time, can't it wait like 2hrs? edit: really? Look if folks want we can have a religion thread. I'm pretty sure we have one already. Yep we do. Go argue the "leap of faith required for atheism" there. Also totally uncalled for.
