Avengers n The Hobbit probably my two big films for this year. It's probably going to be hugely disappointing, but it'll be fun nonetheless. Also I assume that's Skrulls that are Loki's army?

Some of our tubs have measures on the side too. But it's in grams. Which yantes example lists it in lbs, which is weight. Tablespoons as a measure isn't used on solids like butter, it's for powers and liquids, since it goes level (i.e baby powder, spices, olive oil, etc) And that's using these: (A common household spoon is 1. not all the same size. 2. hard to get a level measure since it's not flat along the edge.) Liquids go in a jug like so: And everything else on a scale:

Several of those were shut down by MS, wouldn't that have been a decent target? The point of the list, as it states at the top, are these are games/developers that no longer get cash from those sales. And they don't. Yes if Joe Bloggs, texture editor on SW:Battlefront, is now working elsewhere within EA then theoretically the $5 or whatever that is paid for Battlefront on Steam may end up as the $5 in his pay packet, but it's hardly like he's getting paid for the actual game though. And I bet you Molyneux, what with working in a completely different company, isn't getting a penny from EAs sales of Dungeon Keeper, Syndicate, Populous etc on GoG. It wasn't a list of "games now owned by other people", it was a list of "games where the devs are no longer paid for their work".

A cup is always 8 fluid oz, whether it's butter or milk. Not sure how many weight ounces of butter are in a cup of butter, because butter's always measured by volume... Was just throwing out random measurements. Blame battra, he's the one that said a cup = 8oz/half a pint/or liquid form=half a pound. Also why would you measure butter by volume? How would you do that in the first place? It's a pain enough as it is getting it in weight.

It's maybe worth noting that with the period FFXII came out (i.e same time as PS3) it's actually got higher-res textures in it already. It looks very spiffy in PCSX2: This image is higher than HD btw: http://jasonwynkoop....90219191935.jpg And for good measure FFX at 1080p: http://img130.images...0/4927/ffxy.jpg Fuck. In looking for these images the damn battle theme started playing in my head and now I want to play. Loved the FFX battle system. Nice n simple. Anyway point is, if you have the games already and a decent enough PC you can get these in HD already. It's free to try out n see if PCSX2 works for you. Hit me up on Steam if you have a crack at it.

1. It's French not German 2. You don't have to relearn anything. You teach it to the kids, the older generation can get on by with whatever. As more kids learn SI and Metric it becomes the common form and by then most users of imperial are in nursing homes or whatever. 3. A pint is a glass, our bottles aren't pints (though some cans are). They're normally sold at 330ml when in bottles. 4. I didn't say "you american" I said "you" when talking about UK. Kinda clear when "you Americans" use gallons not the litres that I was referring to. 5. See with SI 100grams of butter is 100grams of butter. 100ml of milk is 100ml of milk. Not a cup = 8ounces of butter and 12ounces of milk. Yeah, pre-decimal money. As has already been covered we changed it over in our "snobbish" ways to decimal. Not the best example when we stopped using it, as with most of the imperial measurements too. If you can actually identify that' it's fucked up to arbitrary scaling such as with farthings n shillings and the superiority in a decimal system such as in use with cents and dollars, why not the whole system?

So is it real? Any US folks up for confirming it?

I've got a Diamond Bangle on him sure, but he's the best at magic, he's got a mean amount of synergist abilities, and great healing.

Yeah we had non-metric currency, then we switched cos it was shit tons easier. I see the frequent counterpoint to US using metric as it being expensive, but at least when you change over the money you're using is already metric Not a simple thing to re-mint an entire nations currency. If you want I could dig out my "hundred years in news" souvenir thing my grandad got me for millennium, it's got an page or so on the decimal change over in it. I really don't see the point in the resistance. It's an inevitability, may as well get it over with sooner than later. Not like the rest of the world will be changing back to imperial. In other news: Turns out "cooties" isn't real. I thought it was a US kids way of talking about STIs. Turns out it's more on par with the UK "kissing boys/girls makes your teeth fall out" thing.

You didn't read the link did you? It's just a remaster exactly like MGS, Sly n God of War. Same engine, potentially improved textures (like the aforementioned games), same story, gameplay, etc etc. It would be a good idea to put out all three as a "PS2 Final Fantasy" box set thing (XI is fine to be left out). The big question though is which version they'll be using. I'm hoping for the Int'l/PAL one.

If the price is right I'd certainly pick it up. Though by the time it arrives no doubt I'll have PCSX2 running stable enough.

I've had Van, Hope n Fang for pretty much the last two(now three I guess) chapters. Strong healing, strong magic and physical, syn n sab to change the tables, and sentinel for when it goes tits up.

http://neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=34852496&postcount=1 As originally suspected It's a HD remaster a la Team Ico/God of War style.

It's OUR complex system though Celsius works pretty well in day to day use too. Water, i.e rain etc, freezes below zero. So if the night before is below zero expect slippery roads. And then on the higher range you boil a kettle, or cook food in boiling water. It's my understanding that the only measurement at 100f is human body temperature, which unlike weather and cooking isn't exactly a common daily topic. I don't even know of what would be -17C in common occurrence to be 0F. Fahrenheit exists in the UK, but it's rarely used. Weather is in celsius, you cook in celsius. About the only time it crops up is ...well I guess when it appears on a thermometer or there's an american show on TV. Even my gran doesn't use it. But yes, we still have a lot of imperial around, as just said (I'm sure mentioned many times) we did kinda come up with it. You guys did to those units what you did to our language though. Short changed yourself on a pint though. Ask for a pint in the UK and you get 568ml of ale. Ask for it in the US and you get 473ml instead. Miles and pints(of beer) are about it as far as imperial crops up in day to day life. you drives miles and mph, though you buy your petrol in litres. Apart from a pint(of beer) pretty much all liquid n food is in metric. 100grams of chocolate, 2 litres of pop, a kilo of carrots etc. It's not internationally snobbery but US stubbornness. It's not snobbery to drop hundreds years old measurements full of tradition in favour of a more globally encompassing scheme. Dealing with US imperial just adds an unnecessary layer of logistics and expense to everything. Including day to day life. Can't use US recipes on the net for shit, what the fuck is a "cup" for crying out loud. And famously it causes a problem when engineers use imperial and destroy spacecraft cos of it. Which I don't get why that issue ever cropped up, space = science = metric units. Same with military. A "klick"(kilometre) is a US term after all. Actually pretty much every area of US that touches upon the rest of the world is using SI; science, military, trade(to a degree. If products are for regular shoppers I'd imagine they're sold in random amounts of grams) Closing point: If metric has no benefit to daily life why is there not 180 cents in a dollar?

To clarify an earlier post. These are what I bought. I used my loyalty card points to knock it down by £10. They cost £11.47 normally. Which as Kovach said isn't bad as it is. All three include the instructions too and the discs are fine. Just no covers. Which I can probably re-print, plenty of nice alt-cover sites out there. So yes, it's not some fancy deal. Just doing some digging on shelves and racking up points.

I use the "bunny ears" style anyway, but for those of you more advanced than I here's me making you feel stupid.

Dammit. I wanted to beat you. When I heard you had difficulty in Tejins tower I thought I'd be in with a chance. If I hadn't gone to Pulse/slept last night I coulda done it.

I know they don't own 40K, just a license, which is what I said As for Atari, Atari now is just a name. Has been for a long time, the people at "Atari" now are not the people that made Pong and the 2600.

So I was curious on this one. As mentioned the other day I didn't even know "Planned Parenthood" was an organisation not just a phrase like "family planning". For those in a similar position the lass that made this origination was a bit into the idea of eugenics. In the 1920s. Now there's a slight, well I say slight it's somewhat major, a bit like how Enid Blyton writes about "Fannys" a lot in her books and why it makes british kids laugh their heads off these days. Or how Gandalf set fire to a faggot. Eugenics in modern day is a "bad word" because of Nazi eugenics (i.e ayran race n all that).....in the 1940s. Planned Parenthood was formed over 20 years ahead of that. Also worth noting the lass who had these ideas 1. kept them as just that, ideas. 2. dropped dead over 45 years ago. A terrible condition that makes it really hard to try and make the american aryan race. Something that from my understanding is not what she was doing with Planned Parenthood. edit: I guess a bit of what Duke said

THQ also has the 40K license. Also they just knocked out Saints Row 3 not long ago. Alongside DarkSiders next year they've got the South Park RPG, which seems to have a fair amount of hype. They put maybe a bit too much into the Wii, and they'll have fucked up share wise cos of Homefront being shit, then closing Kaos, then shelving Red Faction.
