Yep it's fallout style. No lockpick spells from what I can see though :/ btw something I'm trying to get some solid response to: I've being hearing that if you use the console, even if it's to set tm, fov, whatever, it disables steam achievements for that period of time you're playing (so you need to then leave the game n re-load it. Which is a bummer cos it sometimes forgets the FOV when you do that :/).

That's cool. Totally cool. I'd much prefer people to ask for specific gifts (i.e the odd "Mum: Harry Potter 7 comes out on dec 2nd") than having to worry for ideas. If it's something they've asked for and want then they'll like it. Instead of say getting them a DVD that's in the wrapper still months later. I'm on a 9600GT running on medium settings. It's not bad. Also you can use the ini files to tweak various settings to get it running smoothly by disabling the odd bit here n there.

Ah but can yuou walk on water yet? (seriously, can you? I feel like they've taken out a fucking ton of spells. Sure mage is awesome to use but main reason destruction is so high for me is because the other schools only have like 1-2 useful spells) btw does anyone feel the world is really sparse/small? I'm 30hrs in (slightly less in reality, I use the overlay for chats quite a lot) and it feels like I have half the map explored already. Just a comparison but Oblivion had 50 forts alone. There's as many if not more Aylied ruins (I've found one Dwarven ruin), two dozen mines and a shit ton of caves (70 or so), and then the various oblivion gates. Skyrim has an achievement for finding 100 places. The barrows are neat, and the traps and puzzles a tad more imaginative. The forts fucking suck in comparison, sure they look like actual forts unlike Oblivions round circle of stone wall, but at least Oblivion had plenty to do on the inside, the Skyrim forts only have a few rooms inside to present a more realistic looking fort layout. Dark Brotherhood quests suck too (at least up to now). Oblivion you had to kill people by dropping shit on their head, breaking into the Imperial prison, swapping out medicines for poison, and best of all go to a party. Current dark brotherhood quests are: Kill people, don't matter how. If you get caught then pay the fine or serve your time. Good luck. Sure I'm still having fun, and mechanically there's a huge amount of improvements, but in other areas, especially quests and exploration, it's just so disappointingly underwhelming. Pretty much all I have are "go here/kill this/clear dungeon x/retrieve item B". So little in the way of creative quests. I want to meet people with paranoia, underhanded shop keepers, save artists, enter dreamworlds, etc. Also Radiant Story kicks in way too often for my tastes which isn't helping. I currently have 3 bounties in my quests. I'd have thought it'd only kick in if you're running low on quests but it seems if you talk to an inn keeper on jobs you'll get one. whoops, this was just meant to be a sea striding joke :/

I hate bloom too. I was glad there wasn't any in Pirates 4, but then they went and used him in Three Musketeers. :D

I've being using 80 which is real nice, though it forgets now n then. I might just macro it in (Since I've got a keyboard that can do that, may as well ) Regarding the mouse thing: I've heard that doesn't work so well due to the attachment of vertical speed to FPS. I'm not too bothered though, it hasn't been an issue past 2 days, seems to have only struck early on. In other news:

Yeah, that's been my girlfriend's biggest gripe about Skyrim so far. Everything scaled with you in Oblivion, but everything has a set level in each region in Skyrim. In Oblivion, no matter where you went, it would match your level. In Skyrim, you could wander into a cave and encounter something hilariously weak, something just right for you, or something that's going to absolutely murder you. They still scale with you in Skyrim. It's just the scaling is tweaked. It was an issue with Oblivion because it scaled with your level, but your level wasn't exactly a true measure of your strength. With Skyrim it's gone the route of Fallout. So you have the standard bloatfly, ghoul, rat types. But then also got your Yai Goi types n Deathclaws. The giants in particular are in marked camps. Same as the Deathclaws had Deathclaw caves n certain valleys/ruins they'd specifically hang about in. I've usually found that caves/whatever containing things that will fuck me up tend to have the outside of the cave with dead bandits, bloody bones etc all strewn about.

Because they're shit in general. I've seen many people complaining of the shadows. No idea what they've done (or not done) to make it this way. Round column casting shadows that look like something from an 8-bit consoles. I just ignore em. Talking of graphic quality this dude tweaked his settings (outside of the game, used ATI Tools, though thread has Nvidia instructions) to put his game into "ultra low" mode. I think it looks kinda neat, though I wouldn't want to play it this way.

..or if you're sick. I still don't get that. "you're looking a little sickly".

Don't forget Yakuza 3 and 4. It has the complete summary of all the games before it. I watched 1 and 2 (from an in game menu, not YouTube to be clear!) and got up to speed pretty good when I started with 3 (I didn't play 1 and 2). Didn't forget, just never played them. Most of it is in the size. Giants are the tallest and (afaik) strongest units in the game. Also specially named units tend to be stronger too. If most are called Drugar n killed in a few whacks, then you can figure Drugar Lord n Restless Drugar are gonna be a bit tougher.
