The vertical n horizontal sensitivity are separate. Horizontal is controlled by a slider. Vertical by your FPS. (Also mouse smoothing)

That's not my "official" folder (mainly cos it's on dropbox and I don't want it like auto-updating dropbox each time it opens a wallpaper to stick on my screen) but my proper one is usually on rotate. Except at the moment where I've had the Skyrim_01 image on permanent.

So was a thread suggested to be more story based. Thought I'd fire it up as we now all start to unlock the game. Firstly screenshot for Skyrim are at L:\Steam\userdata\31988727\760\remote\72850\screenshots (change L to whatever. Bolded part may be different, but 760 is the Screenshot folder n 72850 is the Skyrim App ID) Whack your image up on the Gallery if you want then select "My Media" to embed (or embed direct. Or use imgur or dropbox, whatever) So this is my Breton. Pyrites (my usual RPG name) I'm aiming him to be a mage, the great great grandson of "Champion of Cyrodil". While his Great Great Grandfather gained riches and items beyond value; Head of the Mages Guild, Knight-Errant of Leyawin, Grand Champion of the Arena, Champion of the Divines, as well as the aforementioned Champion of Cyrodil and hero of Kvatch. There were even whispers of close ties to the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild, it was not by chance that he was in Imperial city the day one of the Elder Scrolls was stolen. However not all branches of the family tree are well off. As the Empire crumbles so does the power his family once had. So he flees Cyrodil to Skyrim in hopes of fame and fortune from the tales he was told as a child. Due to his lengthy and experimental use of magic his hair has gone whispy white and his eyes a foggy white. His adventures in Skyrim have already been full of action; since being captured at the border he has escaped execution, dragon and mudcrab. As a request from a convict he escaped with he has made his way to the town of Riverwood, there he met with some supporters of the Stormcloaks, freedom fighters lead by one of the men at the execution and a powerful user of The Voice, Ulrich Stormcloak. It has being suggested I join with them, however first I have promised the local merchants I will track down some thieves that stole a valuable artefact from them: The Golden Claw. After journeying to the top of the thieves camp at Bleak Falls Barrow he thinks this is going to be an excellent time in Skyrim.

I thought I had cos it had a marker, but seems there's two marker types) Also I just spoke to those guys, not long ago. edit: People don't like to talk to you when they're in bed. Also people move around behind you when you're talking to others and it's creepy cos it feels like there's tons of people in a house but it's just three people sitting in different seats around the house.

Well not had many quests upto now. I mean the "craft a helmet on the workbench" was pretty easy since it was to my right. But as stated the "find my sister" thing is hard, and I think I may be doing something wrong. All I have is "find sister in village". It's small village so I assume they thought you'd find her easy. I did take a bit too long getting here.

Apparently this is considered funny and political. I don't get it.

Technically I got into convo, then it attacked me. He did help me out when the convo ended. As for Fable comparison I'm aware that was just for cash, but nothing stopping having something similar in Skyrim that makes actual weapons n stuff. One other thing I've remembered: Quest markers suck (As far as I can tell). It might just be the way they're handled or what. I'm meant to find a dudes sister in riverwood. Now riverwood was added to my map (more on this later) but I'm here and I can't see any markers for where the sister is. It's only a small village, (hackdirt is bigger) and I've not ran into her (though during crafting it has become night) Regarding maps: There is no fast travel until you've earned it. Unlike Oblivion where you have the main towns marked out, here you have to either walk or (like RDR) hire a carriage for travel. Once you've been to an area you can fast travel.

edit body n face. Relatively deep. I feel that it's broken up into the wrong sections (so I changed my face shape, but jaw n chin were in different parts. Did leave me worried for a while I'd be stuck with my chin) I've had it fuck up a few times, like it won't register key presses. So I tab out of a convo and it does nothing, but I can open up their shop window n tab out of that. Also had it crash when I hit Enter to pick up arrows. There's a "pick up all" button too which woulda been nice in Oblivion. Mouse sensitivity is fucked. Lucky I have my G5. It's mainly with lock picking, to make the sensitivity so I didn't feel like a sluggish brute it also made it so a minor twitch moves the lock pick dozens of degrees. So I'm using the hardware buttons on my mouse to swap sensitivity. Combat with the dual wielding feels nice n spells are much improved. In fact upto now a mage is REALLY nice to play. Mages robes do shit now. My current set is a basic kit you pick up in the dungeon, it does increased magicka regen and also upped my magicka count. I've seen stuff in shops that reduce magicka cost of certain types of spells too. So "Robes of Illusion" knocks off 15% of cost of casting illusion spells (Also fucking expensive). Whereas in Oblivion mages robes were just a name for one type of clothes, not actual armour. The spells themselves aren't just projectile types but they're more flamethrower-ey (does seem to mean reduced range, gonna look into that) and also continuous. So to heal you hold down the mouse until you're finished, instead of tap, heal action, tap, heal action etc. Oh tomes are single use too. You "read" them and it leaves inventory. (In Oblivion you could read em n still sell em on) Oh the in-game map is gorgeous as expected. Crafting isn't much more than click item you want, make sure have ingredients, click craft. Unlike say Fable were you have to do mini-games for forging swords n shit. I'm unsure if I'm disappointed or relieved. Oh yeah there's a minor quirk to the updated convo system. So they made a big thing of how the convos are more natural n shit, in Oblivion you talk to someone and time comes to a stand still n you stare at their face for a bit. In Skyrim the world continues. Even if say you were about to hack a mudcrab as "Hunter" interrupts you n tells you his life story(not exactly, but I'll leave it vague for now). So yeah that convo was very nearly lethal. Even with a mudcrab. (cos you still get locked in, cos obviously your controls are now used for picking convo options, not turning n killing mud crab) Some convos are a case of click person and they spit out a couple lines (e.g children*), some are with options to go more in-depth. *yep kids, so that beggar who can't feed his children won't be a big fucking liar anymore. Anyway I'll post more later.

It reminds me of Tron actually. The music n the dude who gets de-rezzed at 0:18. I'm gonna struggle with the actors though. Thor as the huntsman is just going to remind me of thor. And Kristen Stewart fairer than Charlize Theron? Not buying it.

Yeah don't forget Fallout. They got way too carried away with beards so I don't think it'll eve be an issue in future games.

My Oblivion shots, though I hardly took any to show off the visuals. As stated I'm not really running a high end rig so Skyrim isn't going even get a chance to look "oh wow" should it be in their. Skyrim is a 7GB install. Qarls texture pack is 2GB.

Got bored of Skyrim sound track a bit (n didn't want to spoil it too much) so decided to have a bit of time with Elton John, especially after the Lion King session the other day. Oh and another good one (LSD is just a good song regardless of Elton John or Beatles)
