  1. Yeah saw it on Reddit, both maps. Since both seem to have their own bits done wrong I never bothered posting. e.g it's not just the top of hammerfell that's independent, but all of it. They were invaded, given up by the Empire, then fought the Dominion off. Red Mountain certainly tied up any ideas people had about a Morrowind based expansion ? Also don't get me wrong. I've ploughed 50hours into it this week alone. It's not a bad game. It just has some really obvious problems that could have been avoided so easily. The main upside is that there's mods that can fix most of the issues. (though it should never be a crutch)
  2. yeah, they were in the second bundle too.
  3. A redditor mocked this up as a mod request. Fuck yes. (though I feel the active status this could do with being put elsewhere) It neither makes sense to put it with Inventory, and it also could get quite big if you're good with Enchanting.
  4. It's pretty much just a different font. If I was comparing the modded re-colourised map, or the grid layout inventory sure. And the Status bar is only smaller, not tweaked from a default of centrally aligned health bar. Though there was one part of Darnified, that I've only just noticed now, that they seem to have used; fading HUD.
  5. Yeah the map in Oblivion is 3D. Limited though, only a few degrees of rotate given. Though there's a video I threw up a page or so back of a "mod" that could let you use it much more freely. It's running Darnified, which swaps out the default font (though I went with one of the less low-key options, let's you colourise the map, completely change the inventory layout, and a few tweaks here n there. As you can tell I pretty much just had it change the fonts, and shrink the compass n status bars on the bottom, I was never much of a heavy modder. Textures, quest leveller n unofficial patches.
  6. Just some minor additions: Oblivion, this is one of my chests, filtered by armour types sorted by value. I've also nudged my mouse over to point to the "enchanted item" marker. Here's my chest in Skyrim. Filtered by nothing, sorted by I don't know what. I tell if an Item is enchanted or not by manually putting it in another cupboard. Which I do with most the useful things actually. Here's my active statuses in Oblivion And here in Skyrim I've ended up with the same status listed three times, with one of them having two statuses that's actually listed right at the top. Hoorah for redundancy And here's all my Skills in Oblivion. Here's some of my skills in Skyrim We've not even mentioned the ever changing status of the E n R in using chests yet. If I'm in my inventory then using E will eat/drink/equip said item, pushing R will store it (unless there's more than 5 in which case I need to hit E). If I'm in the Chests Inventory then using E will take it out and pushing R will take everything. Makes perfect sense.
  7. Yes GOH. I have difficulty with shapes. Nothing to do with everything being the same damn colour. Oblivion: active quest is red, I am yellow, custom is green. Buildings are sepia. There's also a button in the corner to open a Legend. Skyrim: You are black n white (bet you can't even find me on here, at least without difficulty), the active quest is black n white, the buildings are black n white, the map is black, white n green, the custom marker is blue and the legend has been removed. (Which I know has lead to a fair amount not realising what the horseshoe symbols were for. tbh I still don't understand a lot of them. The dragon roosts have been fairly consistent, as are farms. But not all farms are marked, some farms are mines, there's 3 types of castle/fort icons, and there's a "Pass" symbol too which funnily enough marked the least passable part of that particular mountain.) But yes I obviously struggle with the shapes.
  8. Word on the Wire is the next bundle will be Introversion games, with Aquaria and Crayon Physics as the "pay above average" games. Also I'm renaming the thread.
  9. http://christophecou...bel/cin%C3%A9ma A look at various film poster themes and motifs. Pretty good collection.

Yes! E4 was cool. There were so many well thought out parodies in this episode for the first 4 minutes. I thought twice about deleting it.

  10. They're not a cult, they're from the Dominion. Since retrieving the Golden Claw from Barrows Peak, and having a wall of cunieform doing some weird glowey shit to him while there, Pyrites headed off to Whiterun to warm the Jarl there of the impending thread to Riverwood....killed dragon....greybeards...ran pat frost troll on 7000 steps...etc etc... Pyrites has now become rather proficient at killing dragons, claiming over a dozen of their souls already and even hunting them down to their roosts. The people of Dawnstar and Riften have even seen his might up close, while also aiding in the battles against the dragons themselves. He has also joined the Dark Brotherhood, following in his fore fathers footsteps. Though much has changed from the tales of old. Finally following up on the advice of his saviour from Helghan Pyrites met up with Ulfric Stormcloak and pledged his sword to the stormcloaks. He has also joined with the Mages College, though a snow cat is causing problems in his attempt to get to their expedition site. Pyrites has also had a minor run in with some travelling members of the Thalmar Dominion. However the clash was small but swift, the rest of the party since long gone down the road when the question arose regarding belief in Talos. While Pyrites has mainly focused upon the Destruction arts he has come to appreciate the help of his friendly Flame Atronach. Both an excellent decoy and source of damage. Requires chugging back on a few magicka potions though. Thankfully he has slowly mastered the alchemical arts. Through careful eating of butterfly wings, sabre cat eyes, giants toes, vampire dust. His stomach no bounds in his pursuit of gaining mastery of natures bounty. His current aims, alongside getting the good graces of all the Jarls so he can buy/find a house with decent amount of bookshelves, is access to Dwemer ruins.
  11. The menu doesn't feel like a porting issue (Except for the vagueness of mouse clicks, partially fixed by disabling the default of "360 pad support" in the settings) but just an overall design issue. It affects the console version too. Having the list start half way down the screen is the first big mistake. There's a large lack of information too. Oh also chests and dead people suck too. But mainly chests. It lists everything, with no way to sort by weapons/armour/potions/misc/etc like you can on your personal inventory, which means using the chests at home sucks donkey balls. And there's no way (That I can see, though I've noticed the ordering on various chests is different) to sort by weight/value/attack/armour/ etc. There's also no easy visual way to tell if an item is enchanted (Oblivion had a kind of white dot on enchanted items) Another major UI issue is the map. All the markers (except the custom marker, which is blue) are black and white. Cleared dungeon? black n white. You Marker? black n white. Quest marker? Black n white. Undiscovered area? inverted black n white. Want to know if an area is cleared? Have to pan over to it and manually check it's name. Want to know where your quest is? For starters you've got the pot luck of it even marking it down anyway., then it's a case of finding out which black n white marker also has a black n white arrow overlaid. (The interior maps also suck too. It looks like someone used the plastic wrap filter on what would have being a decent map. All you can see are vague outlines cos the rest of the map is some fuzzy mush with zero definition) And last but not least, the centrally aligned health bar. Who the fucks grand idea was that? It makes it an absolute pain to read and work out if you're at half health or not. Sure if the red bar is as long as the two empty segments on either side, you're at 1/3 health, but I am not calculating fractions while fighting a dragon okay. So much of the UI is form over function it's not funny.
  12. Police raided the OWS camp in NYC couple hours ago. Press are basically being told to fuck off too, airspace closed above the park etc etc. Seems Oakland one was raided yesterday too n Portland on Sunday. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-15732661 Maybe not the best move to pull. Getting rid of the press doesn't bode well either, if you're doing it all by the book then press can film you doing this. You kick the press out all you're gonna have are the shakey cam footage of you beating one of the council members. (the odd krystalnacht reference I've seen on twitter might be going a bit too far though)
  13. If it's only $10 and something on Steam (if it involves shipping $10 won't go far) I can probably join in.
  14. Your PC writes it down for you.
  15. Fast food restaurants with a "pound menu" be first to adopt €250,000 burgers? I think you're more likely to find it in places that do molecular gastronomy. I'm sure pale white meat slithers will go well with a dessert of ...blue.
  16. From my understanding loads of places are doing $200 PS3s. Been a few guys in steam chat discussing em. One even wanted it purely for a "cheap" Blu-ray n netflix player until I pointed out he can pick up something for $85 that does just that.
