  1. A council seat was just decided by the drawing of straws because there was a tie. In case you ever think your vote won't matter. http://uk.businessinsider.com/northumberland-local-election-2017-liberal-democrat-wins-council-majority-controlling-seat-by-picking-a-straw-2017-5 Also our current PM is as usual a blustering idiot and we're gonna end up totally fucked as she pisses off the rest of the EU.
  2. A brief look into the design and thinking behind the structure of Talos 1 http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/297288/Designing_Preys_scifi_space_station_to_be_like_a_megadungeon.php Sounds it'll be a bit like Portal 2 where you end up in the old disused testing facility and work your way up through the decades (just in reverse I guess with this)

    Steam

G2A (and most other key resellers) primary method is keys, it's kind of in the name. I've never been sent a gift through them just keys, I'd doubt it's their biggest system in use (and obviously won't be a thing for anyone going forward). And Valve will never stop using keys. Always kind of amuses me that Humble, GMG, etc are put in one basket and G2A n CD-Keys are put in another. Both sell you steam keys and email them over to you to input into Steam just one of them you get Russian Borderlands and the other US Borderlands. Can't be having people using that globalisation against the publishers though. Instead you get all this "G2A steals credit cards" stuff which is so grounded on reality all you ever get is likes of Devolver (a publisher with active interest in using globilisation for own gains) tweeting about it, whereas I'd imagine if there was any actual evidence on that side of things then G2A wouldn't be long for court, theft n fraud are pretty serious offences. As it stands nada, but Valve have been in legal bother with US govt, EU govt and Australian govt for various dodgy practices they've directly or indirectly been involved in. I like them for buying games from n all, but Valve are extremely anti-consumer when they think they can get away with it. You may notice the US one is relating to gambling, the EU and Australian ones are anti-consumer activities by Valve. Incidentally the EU one which launched a few months ago is related to region blocking which this latest change seems to maybe be a slight response to but given EU and EEA covers a relatively broad economic range (for example I'm UK, but G2A is Poland and Polish games are generally cheaper).
  4. I remember watching it years ago but don't remember too much about it. It has Chris Evans in too, iirc. Hah, all the "he's just done Human Torch and now he's doing this super powered movie. He'll be type cast"...3 Captain America and 2 Avengers films later... IIRC it was meant to be setting up for a trilogy of sorts. Hence it having a fairly large "lore" in the powers n such. But that's always bad luck to try that.
  5. FFFFUUUUUU.

I applied for "Mary Lou" as an  extra months ago, got turned down. Would've been 5th, 6th, n 9th of May in Durham.
Last week was sent email requesting strong runners (I'm not super strong so passed on it) for 4th n 6th in Durham.

Today I've found out what "Mary Lou" was codename for

  6. Put on a playlist of classical classics to try and purge some more poppy songs from my head when when I was young, I never needed anyone...

    Steam

Valve: "We want to benefit from globalisation but don't want our users to do so". It's pretty balls. As for multi-packs I've not seen them for a while either except outside of Steam. As for outside of Steam, afaik their gifting service never gifted the keys themselves so this has little bearing on G2A or other key sellers. My biggest thing from that article though is that there's seemingly items sold through the market to the current value of $400 soon to go to $1,800. That's fucking insane. Who the hell is selling and buying these things?

  9. Just to clarify here, because I think I've read TFG post to everyone else; but is this asking for it to be a thing or just confirmation that it's a thing or not. Like you get told "Aliens defo visited Roswell" or "There's no such thing as ghosts". Best argument against ghosts I've heard is the "so where are the dinosaur ghosts?" As for aliens visiting here for resources, we do have quite a few of the rarer elements in the solar system here. And a huge source of liquid water which is pretty dang important. Moon has a chunk of Helium-3, handy for fusion, but end of the day so does Saturn and Jupiter. However one thing we have, from a "visiting for fun" that next to no other planet in the observable universe has is: a total solar eclipse. Our moon and star are the right size ratio, and the right distance from earth that we get a solar eclipse.
  10. edit: Okay this blog is pretty cool. Test animations and pencil sketches of Akira http://subject-28.tumblr.com/
  11. Hey, Black Sky is back. And SIGOURNEY WEAVER!!
  12. (It's one of those "first 5 seconds is a mini trailer" videos as a heads up). Certainly looks a creative way to reload guns.
  13. Yeah, part of me is wanting to wait since I have been spoiled a bit by Netflix with the binging ability but another part of me is happy to have something to look forward to each Monday.
  14. See I didn't play too far into Darksiders but I was under the impression you were tricked into participating into the apocalypse. Was it revealed to not be the case?
  15. Anyone else see the first episode? It's certainly trippy. Which I guess is to be expected when adapting Neil Gaiman. They even pretty much has Bilquis in as it's written in the book, and it's pretty trippy in the book. I like that the opening kinda establishes how the gods got brought over to America, iirc it's not covered until much later in the books (not that it matters too much). Kinda bummed they skipped most of the prison stuff though, since it sets up Shadow quite well and becomes a bit important towards the end (though I think they're maybe gonna flash back to it for bits, since they've already done it at least once). Loved Wednesdays first scene, setting him up as a conman. Oh yeah, this show has a shit ton of red syrup in it. I feel that the "weird" in it is enough to have some intrigue, but I feel could back fire if they don't start covering stuff with a "who is that, what is that, why is that" etc.
  16. Only if it gave you one automatically (e.g my outlook account which I use for Windows and the Xbox app signs into automatically has a weird made up tag I can change, the one that's over a decade old I made myself, nope). I could maybe use my outlook account and start afresh I guess. But it's only a name (also it's tied to a bunch of PC games).
  17. My gamertag is so old it's PyritesSFX. Totally ruining my otherwise perfect deanbmmv streak (though I think way way way back when I just had Lost Planet and CS:S, this was my Steam name too, but you can change that easily and for free). I won't be getting Gold so no MP, but feel free to add me otherwise.
  18. Yeah I guessed which part you were getting at. Just messing. Technically I've not bought it yet, will be paying for it when he's back from work.
  19. Currently just "game" (Lost Oddyssey) but might dabble in others. 360 games are pretty cheap these days. I got this for next to nothing off a housemate who couldn't be arsed to move with it.
  20. It's a 7th gen games console, that despite the naming actually came out before the Xbox One.
  21. I gave it a spin. An excuse to use my otherwise dusty Wacom. I've a few niggles, but otherwise it works kinda nice. Especially for free.
  22. Having taken it for a leisurely stroll this afternoon I think it's just gated. Anyone else given it a spin, tbh nothing huge or new to be seen though you get a bit more time to read books and emails and be like "why are all the other corpses named but this one has a number". I'm not very good at smooshing mimics, I played on Normal and my health got eaten into a fair bit. Got killed my a Phantom that decided to pop up n I called it quits on that. I'm not sure I'll get it tbh, it doesn't really have any moments of calm, due to the mimics being...well mimics, every item could be a new confrontation. Bit too stressful for me tbh. Compared to say Bioshock where you can have those little moments to recollect, before shitting yourself in the morgue. The chance of kinda just going anywhere is kinda cool (though tbh I can see how they can easily gate you anyway given a chunk of places are behind doors that need keycards or combinations).
