  1. Best I can make out on the MP front is that in their financial reports it's referred to as "socially connected", which could mean anything from like ghost cars to MMO. We'll find out more later today. Also glowing headphones are totally a thing. Tacky as hell, but they're a thing. There's even a company that makes headphones with glowing wires.
  2. Yeah I said in the chat it seems odd to focus so much on the sports stuff given it's going to sell like bonkers and it'd only be news if they weren't doing sports games this year. It's a bit concerning for how much other games they don't have if they had to spend so much time on the sports stuff and like a 20 minute segment of just a LP of Battlefront II. They otherwise only really had Way Out and Need 4 Speed, with a teaser for Anthem. Also I'd say it's more accurate to say they're following a Titanfall 2 model given that's the game they have and are basing the model off.
  3. EA Access (for Xbone) and Origin Play (for PC) going free for the next week. They also said about trials of games on PS4 (less structured there given the lack of EA access type scheme).
  4. Teaser trailer all we have so far. Not sure if the wording means that it's a Scorpio only thing but we'll find out more tomorrow (e.g if MS say "Console exclusive" or "timed exclusive" or whatever form of "not really an Xbox exclusive game" they use). Nothing in the description to provide hints. Seems aesthetically a bit like Destiny, especially the Russia area. "The wall" stuff doesn't really dissuade that comparison. Not sure that post Andromeda (I know a different studio, but he post ME3 also valid) that there's much hype for Bioware stuff atm.
  5. Reminder that E3 starts tonight (times below) and we'll be in the Discord shooting breeze (link up above).

  6. Cos I'm seemingly one of the few folks like seems to enjoy the Ubi formula I'm kinda looking forward to what they'll do with Far Cry and Assassins Creed (though I think ideally they should be doing these in two year rotations not having a lul then throwing out both at once). I'm behind on both series though. I'm kinda hankering after some TES VI. ESO has sparked that a fair bit for folks, and it has been nearly 6 years since their last one so I'd say it's over due. ('94, '96, '02, '06, '11....'17?). Sort of hoping that they might give it a bit of a broader scope than individual countries, especially given they've managed such with ESO. Also maybe kinda accepting the fact that the world has largely stagnated for the last few thousand years. Maybe make use of the dragonbreak lore/mechanic they've got to like an excuse to set it in an earlier period that "conflicts" with established lore of the existing games. Also as was the hope with Skyrim: use a new fucking engine. A civil war that involved a dozen men on each side is bloody stupid. Bethesda have actually hinted at two new IPs as part of their "Bethesdaland" promo given TES, Fallout, Prey, Dishonored and Doom are all covered. Is Wolfenstien Bethesda? If so they've got a sequel just leaked today. From Sony and MS I'm not really sure what I'd be wanting tbh. I guess The biggy for MS will be the Scorpio. Oh yeah I guess Sony will have Spiderman which'll be fun. And I guess from either of them we'll be getting the usual COD n FIFA stuff alongside one of them running a Destiny spot (which I think might be on the Sony show, especially if Activision want some breathing room away from the Scorpio talk). I doubt we're going to get much from Death Stranding, last year putting stuff out was like within months of him signing up with Sony so that likely was literally all they had at the time.
  7. That thumbnail puts his nipples in a very very weird place. Other than that it's looking good, and cool to see Bilbo and Gollum reuniting. Though "what do you know about Wakanda" isn't a very good riddle. I'll be honest aside from their vibranium deposits and the fact that licensing agreements mean that Black Panther is going to go unwed (he marries Storm, now with 20th Fox) I know little about Black Panther so that's kinda cool.
  8. It'd be no more complicated than plugging in wired headphones, just with the step of turning on the transmitter.
  9. I imagine it's considered a bit of a niche use case? If you're streaming music from your phone to your stereo then it'll be the same process to stream it to your headphones. Unless you're wanting to blast an LP to your headphones (which a quick look on amazon suggests there are record tables with bluetooth streaming support). Failing that you can get fairly affordable RCA/3.5mm bluetooth transmitters for like £20. Aukey sell one which works both ways for £17 which is quite the steal. Bonus with an add-on like that is can upgrade your existing stuff and being 3.5mm it's pretty dang universal (being the "analog hole" n all that).
  10. I've been very clear, in order to maintain a certain solution to hosting we'll be sharing servers with Kotaku Union Party.

Well I know Prince Phillip is retiring from public engagements but it sounds like the Queen isn't stepping down so it should be business as normal over there right????

  11. I got myself a pair of these I had some bluetooth headphones a while back but the (thankfully tiny) battery decided to explode. My phone 3.5mm jack is a bit crackly so bluetooth sidesteps that. I quite liked the idea of neck strap headphones so there's some support to them when they're not in your ears, but most neck strap ones it's almost like a bloody horse collar they're so huge, whereas this is much smaller which I kinda like. I'm no audiophile so not really looking to have much fancy, just being annoying of late with my current wired headphones only having the left piece working.
  12. Technically atm we don't have any government and might not for a couple days. If May is unable to get a deal (and is aiming for DUP being the party for that deal), then Labour can always try and form a coalition or form minority government. It is pretty amazing in like almost all corners. UKIP lost their deposit on like 300 seats, Labour won more votes than even Labour in '97, one of highest turnouts in a long while, there was a couple places where the win was super close (East Fife being the biggy with just 2 vote win). She called this election and polls put them at a massive landslide win, but instead May just proved to be absolutely terrible and brought their lead down that they've lost their majority and currently scrambling to form a minority or coalition government. Oh and EU have had to kind of extend a bit of a olive branch and say that we can wait a little bit to start negotiations until current government is sorted (which is all Mays fault too for announcing a GE before negotiations are due to start). It's currently 5:30pm and I'm amazed that May is still leader of the Tory party. She makes pig fucker look pretty dang good and he's the one that called the EU ref. edit: oh nope, seems that she has gone n formed government with with DUP. yaay! :/ Still surprised May is PM though.
  13. What a wild ride. And it still hasn't finished. Also these are the folks up against Theresa. Lord Buckethead got 249 votes.
  14. American Gods does have male nudity, specifically the well-endowed Djinn and his gay sex scene. I think Laura has been the only one nude and iirc only post-death so not much titillating on a woman held together with large stitches. Oh I guess Bilquis, but that's kind of her thing, might as well cut out completely if not having her with sex scenes (and at least she's not a prostitute in the show). Given many American shows have a pretty low-bar on violence I think nudity is their main bar for being "this is adult".
  15. Nope n Yep. I think @Cowboy Danger Poet is watching the former.
  16. Miserable as fuck. Gone from too hot and sunny last week to super dooper grey and wet today.
  17. This latest three parter fell a bit flat. It started kind of strong with that twist reveal near the end, second was quite good with that lab (the guy with a hangover previously played the dad in "My Parents are Aliens" which was quite amusing). But the finale was just a bit crap apart from Missy being in it. The whole "love conquers all" ending sucks and generally always will in Doctor Who. Species creates an extremely realistic simulation, is able to create a mass delusion, capable of near omnipotent acts, and yet is defeated by wuv.
  18. This seems to be getting a bit of buzz of late
  19. Rush Watched this with my dad the other night. Figured it'd be a good film since I've heard it's a decent film, and from his angle it's Formula 1 which he's into (did mean he knew most of the main story beats since it's biopic). One thing I'd not noticed when it first popped up a few years back is the other guy is Daniel Bruce (of Inglorious Bastetds and Civil War). It is a petty good film, it flows quite well, and some really nice shots. I quite liked the bits when it showed from the drivers view with the kind of tunnel vision . Both the main guys come across as arseholes, though that's largely par for the course I think for a majority of drivers. God's gift to the track n all that lot. It's played quite well. Oh n it has Natalie Dormer fully in the nudge within a few minutes of the start so there's that.
