  1. Yeah I'd heard they'd improved the shaders to fix the eyes, but when seeing that video it was clear a lot more than that had been done (hence me posting it). I am curious to know if it's just a few scenes tweaked or the entire game. Cos It's only been a few weeks and you'd have to be crunching massively to sort out an entire games worth of animations. The cynic in me would point out you'd only have to sort out the first hour or so worth of animations so folks can easily do video comparisons and allay peoples issues with the game. I doubt anyone is going to play through the entire game to double check all the cutscenes. Oh they also had the Asari hold her gun the correct way around now too.
  2. For GitS stuff I'd understood it to be a kind of series of loosely connected media based around a single core universe. Sort of I guess a bit like Final Fantasy (though a lot more recurring characters). As for the age, yeah it looks pretty modern. The Tachikomas being done in 3D is pretty decent for the time. This is only like 6 years after Toy Story, and with a cartoon shader on.
  3. Guess what I've been watching of late (got two episodes left in the first series). Also recently found out if you skip on buying an Xbox One, PS4 and Scorpio you can get yourself one of these instead:
  4. There is quite a lot changed with the animations here, and the models upgraded a chunk. Not a bad turn around. Still to understand quite a few other bugs kicking around.
  5. I think there's a particular panel that's fucked up. Nearly everyone in my family has different branded TVs but the same issue with things being in a fucked up ratio on any input unless you cycle all the way through to "Auto" again (and despite being different brands their menus are much the same which is what inclines me to being a panel issue). Smart TV issue maybe? (I've no issues, but I'm on an older LG non-smart thing).
  6. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/doctorwho/entries/9ecdaaa1-10e1-45a7-a266-bdd7a1adcdf2 John Simm returning as the Master. (due to magical time travelling-ness).
  7. A history of. I got a bit bummed out at it opening with bits from Lucifers Call.
  8. Yes it's slower at loading, mainly a caching thing (basically it's rebuilding pretty much everything as you load pages rather than just going "oh, I already made this front page for MisterJack 2 minutes ago, I'll serve that up to Eleven"). It's a "to do" thing atm. It's not crippling, but yes I'll be aiming to work on it this weekend. I'd a bunch of tweaks on the old version that don't quite carry over to this.
  9. I've actually found of late I used to get 6p for when you've not been to a place it thinks you have, but recently I get 9p. Being in a city I guess means I do get more location clarification/rating stuff.
  10. Ghost in the Shell Visually it's great. Upon Blu-Ray release I'll be poring all over its design. Some of the cinematography was pretty dang cool too (There's a raid midway through that's done from a birds eye view which is pretty cool looks a bit like an old RTS...or I guess Satellite Reign).Batou was absolutely a stand out for me (to be fair I quite enjoy him in SAC too). And there was complaints on his eyes being black instead of white, but they're clearly shown as lenses in this and lenses are black (I'm to understand it was prosthetic too which is cool, and I can believe that given they have done quite a bit of practical stuff). In fact the practical stuff is pretty great considering it's the kind of film you could easily do it all green screen with balls on sticks and such. Obviously the hologram stuff is all CGI mind. They also use this kind of cool cross between motion blur and slow mo that kinda looks like a toned down localised version of the "slowmo" effect in Dredd). It's really cool in a scene where Major is being attacked by three guys with glowing taser batons and they're leaving like a stream of light behind them. And also seen when she's fighting to show she's moving at super human speeds and motions (which despite a bit I'm about to complain on is well shown when she kicks a guy in the chest about 30 feet). I put it in the okay section as; I felt the ending was quite anti-climatic. It fell a bit flat and I felt that the film kinda seemed short. I've seen someone suggest it could have done with like a bog standard mission with the team near the start, bit more establishing of Section 9 and the team and I do agree with that assessment. The invisible fight in the shallow water was waayyy too fan servicey in having little reason to be in this film other than it was a cool bit of the original film. There are quite a few things from the original film and I'd say many of the fit in being reproduced (I got my wish for a scene with the fingers), but this felt a bit too forced and contrived. Aramaki was cool, and in fact I'd say cooler than he is in the originals. And was a really nice element that he spoke in subbed Japanese (I watch stuff dubbed so they all speak English...except when they speak Latin :P). Nice touch to show that cos of the cyber brains you just have things auto-translated for you. Which brings us to Scarlets character. She plays a character called "Major Mira Killian", which as we all know is a super Japanese name and there has been issues on her playing a totally Japanese character. So in summary: Looks great, characters are great, some weird editing/directing choices that make it a bit flat. I'm totally up for watching it again and digesting it some more. (compared to AC which I'm less inclined to)
  11. THQ Nordic humble bundle for PS4. Unfortunately (though not for most of you) it's largely limited to the Americas. (though I do have a US account for getting Need For Speed soo I am tempted) https://www.humblebundle.com/thq-nordic-playstation-bundle Also "Out There: Omega" is 10p atm. (worth noting they do a weekly 10p game and app deal on the Play Store. Usually highlighted in the banner at the top of the App and Games section of the store). https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.miclos.google.games.outthere&hl=en If you get Google Rewards (and don't lie on it) you'll make enough to cover pretty much all these apps. There's some decent ones now n then.
  12. I picked up "Out There: Omega" on Play store cos it's 10p so why not.
  13. From following the iFixit breakdown the Switch itself is pretty solidly built and they've definitely taken into consideration the heating issues with the unit. It just seems the dock where it all falls apart with the majority of issues (the kickstand seems to be maligned a bit, but I hear part of the flimsiness is that it's designed to come off easily so as not to cause permanent damage if caught on something...such as when docking :P)
  14. I believe Craiglist is your Gumtree equivalent. Also have you given thought on moving closer to a Gamestop? But yeah buy Horizon.
  15. Then creates the EU. But yeah Germany moved fucking fast compared to most other things on there. I add some of the Win95 taskbar at the bottom (it'll be the one after Pornhub I helped lay groundwork for). Also changing "PCMASTERACE" to "PEMASTERACE" and "PCMRRSTERACE" and "PCMASTERACF" and so on. Which seemed to be a past time of many others too
  16. The Switch already has a fan in it that powers on when it's docked. But yeah the dock seems really terribly designed and a major detractor for the console. It'll scratch the screen, if you put a screen protector on it gets hot enough inside the dock that it peels off, and now it turns out over time it slowly bends your console. Sweet.
  17. "It's set in a quasi futuristic world and in 3D. FFVII isn't really Final Fantasy" "There's no overworld and they've gotten rid of the ATB. FFX isn't really Final Fantasy" "It's an MMO. FFXI isn't really Final Fantasy" "It's got real-time battles in an open-world map. FFXII isn't really Final Fantasy" And so on so forth. It's funny to see the change in opinion of FFXII to the point where folks have gone from being all "but the gambit system fights for you" to "it's actually a pretty good FF game" to "oooh they're doing a HD remake!" Which I'm aware my gorgeous walkthrough for is going to be a bit useless for it since it'll be the Zodiac version.
  18. Like this post if you hate Cowboy Poet

They hate Cowboy Poet but they love Cowboy Danger Poet.

  19. Dishonored 2 is releasing a demo/trial later this week. It says first three missions, but I'm not super sure how far that'll get you. I'd guess you'd at least have the opening in Dunwall, the first area in Karnaka leading to rescuing Sokolov? Anywho since this first opened for me on the front page I had a browse and some of you were kinda sceptical on the series.
  20. And I will recommend: FTL (especially for @Pojodin) Hotline Miami And actually that's it as either I don't own certain games which I'm eyeing up, or do own them and wouldn't recommend them (at least at those prices, e.g Satellite Reign). 80 Days I guess I'd suggest, though I've only played the phone version but I imagine the PC version will be much the same just bigger. I have heard good things about Sunless Sea btw,
  21. Also thanks for those that've added themselves to the Patreon.

Oh I've only had this for a few months. It was suggested since the donation stuff through PayPal meant folks had to remember. Now folks just need to remember to remove themselves :P

  22. Y'all have the ability to do cover photos so I better see some cool coordination between your avatar and photo.

  23. So dat Rebels finale eh? Anyway, just seen a theory that Liea is racist against wookies and it does kinda line up. She snubs him for a medal,, she calls him a "walking carpet", in lambasting Han she says she'd "sooner kiss a wookie" and it seems Chewie has noticed it too as he pretty much ignores her after Hans death seemingly no longer needing to keep up appearances of hanging out with his BFFs ex.
  24. My mum makes stew in hers. Never used it myself personally though mainly cos of my mums stories of home econ classes and that girl that didn't use it right and burnt off half her face. So I guess that's the main thing to make note of (though googling what "Instant Pot" is I'd guess it's a bit safer than the older semi-industrial thing my mum uses)
