Crytek declares war on Crysis 2 cheaters "We do take cheating very seriously here at Crytek," it said. "We are currently taking steps to permanently remove exploits from Crysis 2 and to penalize those individuals that choose to utilize them." They take cheating so seriously they released the game with absolutely no safe guards to stop client side config files over riding the (I'd guess non-existent) server side settings. You can't punish people who tweak their own single-player game. If those tweaks carry on over to the multiplayer side the blame lies entirely on the developer for not making sure that stuff doesn't happen in the first place.

Dolphin, Firefox, Mirren, Opera, skyfire. They're all generally free so you can grab them all to play with. I personally use Dolphin Mini. But I hear if you're a desktop Firefox or Opera user then they're the ones to get.

Just a few recent Apps I'm gonna recommend: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.ant.wordfind.client - It's like boggle. Very much like boggle. I dislike that I'm sure some of the words don't exist, so you're rarely gonna get the maximum possibilities. https://market.android.com/details?id=com.imp.steamcompanion - It's the steam community on your phone. Supposedly Valve are making a proper iOS/Android version, but for now this is good enough. Yeah, not the steam store btw. https://market.android.com/details?id=com.alphonso.pulse - Probably one of the best RSS apps on Android. I think it's on iOS too. It has a few default feeds, or you can plug in your google reader account. Alternative is the official Google Reader app. https://market.android.com/details?id=com.imdb.mobile - not a recent app, but damn is it useful from time to time. Like "who is that actor?" https://market.android.com/details?id=com.yell.launcher2 - the yellow pages on your phone. (which I now notice that's the slogan). So yeah, it's the ronseal of apps. The map function leaves a bit to be desired though. Wish it offered to open the location in Google Maps/ Navigator. And these two definitely aren't recent but I was talking with Oxtics the other day and turns out he had neither and pretty much jsut used his phone to text n call: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.metago.astro - half decent, though slightly bulky, file browser. Also has a bunch of built-in tools that are kinda handy like app back up n such. Linda Manager is an alternative with less bells n whistles. https://market.android.com/details?id=com.google.zxing.client.android - I have no effing idea why these don't come as default to the phone.

I've been told to never watch that film. Or if I do, watch it last of the Ghibli films. I currently have Howls Moving Castle on my shelf. I'm slowly going through my housemates collection.

Spotted that too huh?

and gizmodo, and wait, aren't about every tech blog on the knob of Jobs & Co.? Nah. There's a few smaller less biased places. And then there's the purely smartphone sites which apart from being a bit more specialist can't be on iPhones dick all the time cos Apple only release one phone every year or so, and there's dozens of Androids, RIMs, WinMo etc that pop out.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-03-30-crysis-2-dx11-fix-in-2-3-months-report Supposedly the DX11 patch is 2-3 months out. And when it comes DX10 get's scrapped. Hoorah...

I'm still pretty cool with it, but I may be a bit bias since I don't live in a country on the edge of three tectonic pates. edit: We are in a pretty strong place for tidal and wind power though. Solar is kind of out the picture though since the UK is pretty overcast most of the time. And if we want to talk power solutions, I'd head to the March of Technology thread or it's own thing...

Yeah with Engadget you kind of have to add in a bit of weighting to remove the negativity if it's not an Apple product. From what they wrote the actual gaming part of the phone is pretty good. Just the genral guts don't measure up to the highest of high end Androids. So kinda depends what you want out of your phone. High powered device, or weaker but with dedicated gaming controls. Both will play games so that's not an issue, just controls. PS Suite isn't Xperia only. As far as I'm aware they're launching that alongside the phone on Friday.

Mobile App/site is pretty much out of our control. Potentially we can tweak mobile site interface, buuuutttttt it's not like the regular layout so very tricky to tweak. Potentially break a bunch of stuff. Not even sure if chat would work with 3G signal. Also the way chat works we don't have much to control on it either. Of the two things on the forum most untweakable Chat n the mobile version are on the top of the list

I thought I'd grab some classical music to have in the background. When songs like this are in the collection it doesn't really have the desired effect. Might just go back to my game tunes.

It was set in current day. Generally going with the flow of current year it's aired in. Even have one of the guys playing a DS at one point. The Stargate is first activated in 1996 if that gives any timescale. Which was in the 1994 movie, and the only time the fictional world has been a fair distance ahead. Though the movie has no year, it's just the TV series started 1 year later and that was set and aired in '97.

I was gonna say, what happened to luke? He's lost a fair bit of height. It's like he's been squashed down.

SG:U Is set roughly now/a year ago. The time line is a bit off and it's been delayed a fair bit, but yeah I think it's from '09 onwards. So certainly nothing to do with trying to jazz up words. I'll grab the clips later n upload em (rendering at the moment, so most I can do is open notepad )

No, they changed their minds. Marketing felt it didn't have broad appeal due to "princess" in Princess and the Frog apparently been it's downfall in limiting it only to girls. http://en.wikipedia....ed#Title_change

Glitches a fair vit at 3:30, but other than that looking pretty good. I'd say part of C2's problem is dropping the sunny vivid green canopies for dull, confined grey n square streets of New York. Also the pacing on C1 let you take more in, and mess about kinda sandbox style more. Blowing up buildings n such. Considering Crysis is pretty much their tech demo to sell the engine on you'd think they'd want folks to have more change to look around.

Certainly not for everyone, and I've yet to finish but it's looking pretty good. Thought I'd grab it since I'm in a 40K mood again with DOWII. The CG quality isn't great: The faces mainly, the over the top stuff of the space marines is all kinda there. Fortunately for the animators the planet they visit has a weird dust cloud thing over it... The VA is pretty damn good and some high profile voices in there. It's certainly not some bedroom fan production. (though it's certainly no Pixar/Dreamworks production either ) While up to now it's kinda leaving a bit to be desired it's really selling to me the viability of a 40,000 TV series. Kinda like Clone Wars. While kinda niche compared to something like star wars, it's got a fair bit of story to work with. I can't see it going too badly for Games Workshop either if they were to do it. And there's the TPS and MMO coming up. Oh yeah it followed the path of some ejected cartridges: edit: You know how I mentioned about things handily been in a dust storm. They're now in a dark chapel n fighting a Deamon. You hardly get to see it

http://majornelson.c...-update-preview So you may of heard(I did throw it in the news feed...), there's a new system update preview thing like they've had before. This time around it's for a new disc format. Now Nelsons blog doesn't mention much, but most other sources are running with the story, and it's pretty plausible, that it'll increase the Xbox 360 disc capacity by a gig. At the moment 360 uses DVD-9 discs, which in dual layer format have a potential capacity of 7.95GB. However on 360 discs MS have a reserved area that pushes the usable capacity for developers down to 6.5GB (iirc). Which as many sites are keen to point out is less than what a PS2 had to play with. So it kinda makes sense that MS scrap this reserved space (I think it's for system updates or whatever, along with some anti-piracy stuff) to give a boost to disc capacity, which is starting to get a bit tight. Anyway thought I'd bring this to folks attention, might want the free Reach. Oh and it's US only. And Gold gets priority.
