  1. Life imitates Art Or rather game imitates Art Director.
  2. I think 3D could do wonders for gaming, but only on something quite a fair bit bigger than a shitty 3.5" screen.
  3. Portal. Which is part of why I've got Portal 2 on PS3, so more folks can play it.

    Monitors!

I'd only got multi-screen gaming with 3 or more anyway, and of the same size and resolution. Sup Com is about it for dual screen games that are cool with different screens. So you can still have both screens, just run one with the game and the other with whatever when gaming (or not at all). Dual screens is more a productivity thing than a gaming thing. Anyway, both monitors are 5ms, the 2ms(gtg) is marketing bullshit to make it look better. GTG = Grey to Grey. So it's not 2ms unless you play grey games. Most games tend to be quite deep blacks and contrasting colours. (It's like that whole "100,000:1 Dynamic contrast" shite. Means fuck all in real life once you toss in "dynamic") So I'd go with the bigger monitor, especially for gaming. They're the same resolution, so you're gonna have a lower DPI on the bigger screen, but I've got a 27" 1080p screen and it's not like it's a pixelated mess. So yeah, get the $180 one, and use both screens. At least give it a spin for a week or so. Especially if you're on Windows 7.
  5. Been playing DOW2 campaign. Stop for the night with one of hte Defend missions to go to, then I'm gonna get the array then onto Angels Forge. The Campaign is kinda nice, like the RPG elements to it. But I feel he individual parts of it aren't as story like as the first DOW, which had different tasks and such as you progressed. This one is more like Dark Crusades campaign, which was an Expansion pack so you were kinda fine with it not being so fleshed out (it was mostly a bunch of skirmish maps until you beat everyone) Dow II I guess I did expect more than "land, wipe out buildings n units, head towards glowing star and kill boss mob" Rinse n Repeat. Apart from the defend missions that is. Gonna do campaign then have a shot at multiplayer. Mostly cos I'll be finished with uni by then. I think I'll hold off on Retribution. Also who is the chick on the cover? Looks Sisters of Battle but the game doesn't list them as a faction. Also I wonder if future expansions will bring the other guys back. i.e Necrons, Tau and Sisters of Battle, maybe some Inquisition. I'm hoping for something that might reflect the Titan rules. Also maybe a bit of Battlefleet Gothic action (aka space battles) Also I ended up spending a bit too long on Forgeworld. Not been on there for yeaarrsss....
  6. Forum Tips & Tricks edit: latest Crysis 2 PC patch notes:
  7. Yeah. I hardly remember any protests against Iraq war. Folks disliked it, but I don't remember anything like this. Not to say they didn't happen, just I can't remember them.
  8. I guess Day 10 is probably gonna go with Tetris. Day 11: PC. Followed by PS3 then PSP.

    Hardware Porn

Well a joining hypothesis would be that people don't tend to find PSU's all that spectacular. If it performs frequently it's doing it's job. 3/4 stars. But things like a GPU "Holy crap Crysis 2 looks amazing with this 5 Stars" or a CPU "Eats through video rendering like hot knife in butter 5 stars", RAM "Wow I can run all the programs on my PC no sweat *****" SSD "shit, 4 second boot up". PSU doesn't have any of that "WOW!, the electricity is so...electrcitiyety"
  10. Lush = short for luscious Same meaning to. Tasty, delicious. Normally sweet.
  11. http://www.telegraph...march-live.html • Reports of more than 400,000 protesters on the streets • 800 coaches and 10 trains bring marchers to London • Thousands of police flood the capital to keep order • Windows smashed and shops targeted in Oxford Street • Sticks thrown at police - shit got serious. btw I don't remember this many protests n such during Labours time. Or is my memeory just too foggy/I didn't pay attention too much when younger.
  12. I hit everything except the GPU requirement for recommended.
  13. There's an LG 3D phone if that's the bit you're "what the hell"ing about. Nintendo, despite what many games outlets would have you believe, didn't invent or have exclusive rights on small parralax screens. Expect to see more in the future. Shame Android hasn't got a 3D GUI. So all you'll be doing is watching 3D films, maybe 3D games, on the go.
  14. I'd not really thought on it before (and I don't tend to have an issue with "scary" interfaces) but Gerbil has a point. Just put in the basic features so when you boot it up it's not as imposing. Then hint to and nudge folks to the more feature rich parts of it. The preferences section does let you turn stuff on and off, it's probably be easier to make it so you turn things on you need than disable the things you don't.

  17. Yeah WinAmp on PC does look like it requires a degree to run it, but it's pretty cool once you get into the guys of it. Most of the useful stuff is in the right click menu. btw does yours look like this: Cos I saw this when finding the other screenshot, thought it was just someones mock up of how they think it should look. I can't see any setting in the app to make it look like that (or go back to normal) edit: and reading the article this image came from, dated 14th March, and looking at my version of Winamp... turns out it got an update. If you want I can see about backing up my version and sending it to you? It's kinda shit cos as I mentioned Winamp really stuggles to find album art (and for some reason even when it has it it rarely syncs it across), so most of my album art is a grey camel. I'd prefer to scrap it altogether.
  18. I use Winamp for Android. It's why I use Winamp on PC. To do shuffle just hit the shuffle button. that 123 icon
  19. Well that's a pile of shit.
  20. Yeah I know how to register items. Just saying, does the c-gear thing ever become more than a grey hex grid?
  21. How'd you do that. At first I assumed it was the new watch, but the fact every time pokemon boots up it asks to connect I guess c-gear is multiplayer related. Which seems a huge waste of the bottom screen space. Especially now I have an item finder and you have to manually enable that rather than just adding it to a watch like in previous games. (which I do like that they've heavily tweaked the "register" thing, just dislike the wasted bottom screen)
