  1. Makes sense. Joker didn't start as a regular guy. It's not like you need to know too much on Bane pre-venom, compared to getting to know Two-face before the acid/petrol stuff.
  2. Yeah the vertigo one too. I used that quite a bit, but it didn't always kick in (like the whip might pull them a bit too close to me, so I kick, which sends them to the other side :/) Did the tenderizer second time round. Actually that'd be one complaint : not all the combos seem to kick in. I must of got tons of groin shots, but it didn't seem to suggest I'd done anything special, just a regular kill. Also woot on half getting the fart thing right. Though bad form for them.
  3. Played the demo through a few times (Just to feel I got my bandwidths worth out of it; only 6 minutes, for 1.2GB? WTF.. Also gonna do some more n beat ) Firstly: Yeah that video at the start was a bit pointless, I feel it'd of been better to work in in-game tutorial type things. It has bit of it, like telling you to kick the cupboard, just needed some more. So the concept is sound. The whole Skillshot stuff, pretty fun and different, though it feels there's only really a dozen or so skilshots, and you're gonna end up sitting on playing with just a handful. I think maybe some more environmental stuff like the Voodoo doll might be cool. However the dialogue is just trash. Games really need to start hiring on proper writers. It's like they wrote down every word that made them giggle when they were 12 and decided to cram it into the dialogue. I'm sure the woman character exclaimed at one point "this farting building sound like it's not so happy" or something. What? Game devs need to fucking learn that we are not immature 12 year olds. And you can make funny jokes and humorous reference's and be all relaxed without trying to cram 'fucking dick fart ass' into every sentence. tl;dr: Gameplay is sound and enjoyable. Dialogue totally kills my mood for it though. Oh and the length of the demo isn't too promising either.
  4. I dislike Matchmaking when it's P2P based, but with dedicated it's cool. It does kind of depend on the game. Though I'd much rather browse through a list of servers and find an empty one and hop on and play, than wait about for however long as the matchmaking service tries to find folks who are also playing the same time as me. Matchmaking works well with smaller things like RTS, L4D etc. Servers also mean a common ground to join up on as groups. No need to wait on a host or for everyone to turn up if we want to play TF2.
  5. Staysick got there before me huh. Just saw someone post in Speakup. Obviously a placeholder but funny none the less.
  6. Maybe. I remember a few folks doing this back when it came out. What day would you want it?
  7. http://www.computerandvideogames.com/285786/news/sony-ngp-multiple-models-3g-not-standard-and-will-cost-extra/ (CVG I know, but it has quotes so I assume it's true) And yeah Kindle has "Whsipernet" which is 3G, but it's part n parcel of paying for the initial device. I think they just worked out some deal with a carrier. Books don't require too much to download. Regarding the size I know my housemate will be glad it's bigger, he feels the current PSP is too small and cramped, especially for his long Monster Hunter hours. (which both of them are shocked at no one showing off Monster Hunter on it)
  8. Open your eyes, Look up to the sky and seeeee
  9. Playing Uncharted 2 that was one of the things that was getting to me, having only slot for pistol and large gun. Especially when it means swapping out a decent multi-use, multi-clip M4 or such for a low ammo Grenade launcher or RPG.
  10. You can do match making on pc...
  11. What do you mean by "non-traditional". this thing rocks motion sensors and touchscreens. Only "non-traditional" thing it doesn't have that the 3DS does is two screens and 3D. And regarding games, that's up to the developers. If someone wants to make PlaystationHamsters or Doctor Standton and the Mysterious Cube, nothings stopping them and it's perfectly capable to run those kinds of things. edit: $10 says Angry Birds comes to the PSP2. edit2: No replaceable battery. :/ edit 3: Yes there's a Wi-Fi only and a 3G enabled model. So that's cool. No word if it's dataplan requiring or like Whispernet.
  12. I'm sure I mentioned in this thread the concept of physical piracy http://i.materialise.com/blog/entry/3d-printing-piracy-3d-printing-the-settlers-of-catan Told ya so.
  13. The Quad Cortex-A9 was confirmed? FUUUUUUUU I saw the spec list floating around the net and while most was believable I was stumbling on the idea of the Quad Cortex-A9. Holy fuck balls that's a powerful handheld. Like if folks think the A4 in the iPhone is nice with Epic Citadel, the PSP2 is going to look very shiny. I guess they had to go above and beyond though. This thing is expected to be in market for 5yrs+. Dual-core phones are springing up this year. So it wants to be ahead of the curve enough that phones don't outpace it a year down the line. Also the potential specs of the PSP2 is why I lol'ed at anyone going "omg the 3DS graphics are amazing". the 3DS specs are shit. Nintendo have not departed form their recent trend of underpowered hardware. Yeah it's gonna be pricey. Hoping it's not £/$400 though. However the difference between the PSP2 and the 3DS is that the 3DS has most of it's price pumped into the 3D screen, which not everyone is too fussed about. The PSP price is on those beefy specs, which folks would be much more lenient on. The PSP2 has certainly hit all the markers of what folks wanted out of it: -Power to run PS2 games (potentially. Though I feel if they had that system in place they'd of done something like Ico or whatever) -Dual analogs -touch screen -beefy specs. The NGP thing is weird. The main playstations have gone 1,2,3 and expected to go to 9. So it was easy to assume PSP, PSP2 etc. Wonder what they'll come up with. Next-Gen portable is pretty stupid though cos it'll be CGP when it's released If it's repeats of PS3 games, then yeah that'll be boring. But side-stories are cool, like Chains of Olympus, AC:Bloodlines etc. And the PSP had a decent library of it's own stuff, so don't be surprised on getting it's own things. Also the touchscreen is probably going to me a few ports from iPhone/Andrpoid (depending on Sony's policies, and the price of the SDK, but they'd be stupid to price it out the reach of iPhone devs. Just run them "minis" style) Still l want to know about the delivery method for games (I've not read everything, maybe it's answered). It looks like it'll be on MemoryStick type cart, with the option to download things too. Which flash cart makes great sense since it doesn't kill the battery with a motor spinning a disc drive.
  14. Hadn't we covered similar regarding the question of "Whats to say the pirated game has a virus in it". Honour amongst thieves. You won't get much of a reputation, or if you're a modder; repeat business, if you go around fucking folks over. You could, but then when a friend of a friend is asking for someone to mod their console, they'll be told "Well I know a guy, but he fucks up the console n voids the warranty, don't go to him".
  15. Hah. Snap Thursday on the Pub living and the consequent bar habits. Didn't know returning glasses to the bar was considered weird in US though.
  16. I've just emailed Crytek (used the general enquiries one, but if I get no reply I'll use Press contact, even though it's more for me than to put on PXOD) Lets see if I get a response regarding power struggle.
  17. http://kotaku.com/comment/24343073/ - I have a similar one to Thursdays. However the creme de la creme of comments is thusly: http://kotaku.com/comment/23847675/
  18. I'm not looking forward to DNF either. I will say I've been tempted to give that Max Hazzard a blast though. I also take the piss out of COD's storyline (specifically MW2), not played much of BC2 to comment, or Gears. I liked MoH's campaign though (aaprt from the bit with the magical taliban that grow out of walls)
  19. Manly Guys Doing Manly Things - Updated Mondays I'll come back later, just dropping this here (Also it's cool when the forum does that, auto-format the URL)
  20. Yet most folks know a guy who know a guy. Heck it's not even the PS1 era anymore where you had to know the guy who knows a guy who could chip your console. Youtube exists, you just go online for full video instructions on how to replace your 360 drives firmware. It may not be as huge as it is on PC, but the Torrent freak figures show it's only a quarter of PC's figures. 360 piracy is especially bad when you take into account it's almost on-par with the Wii, yet there's much less Wii's out there. http://torrentfreak.com/call-of-duty-black-ops-most-pirated-game-of-2010-101228/ A console pirate is certainly more determined. They're no casual pirate for sure. If a PC pirate grabs a game, hey like it or hate it they throw the file in the recycle bin and move on or go buy the game. If a 360 pirate likes the game, what point is there in throwing away the disc you now have, and since you can't really go online with a hacked console, why buy the game when you can't get MP or Gamerpoints for it? Anyway once you or your friend of a friend has tweaked your 360, all you need to do is burn ISO's which just needs nero, and Win7 has iso burning built in. Hardly a demanding task.
  21. Wow, that's not even half the folks required for Power Struggle. shit.
  22. Yes, this is a fertile land and we will thrive.

  23. Yeah that's a question, how big are the maps on the 360 MP demo? Cause from what I'm seeing it looks like they got rid of Power Struggle completely, n just left in the Instant Action style maps. Does it even have vehicles? (don't ask what the numbered circles are for)
