Actually I wouldn't be surprised if they were a little bit inspired. I have a feeling they do read this place.

The game has been in development for roughly 3 years. At this point I have a feeling it's wrapping up a few quests, squashing bugs and tweaking a handful of things. I'd expect enough to be complete they'd be able to show us some combat, or a conversation, walk us through the menu system (which is sounding more consolefied than even Oblivions)

Too bad that's all it is upto now. Game was announced over a month ago now and apart from a pre-rendered trailer and a couple of screenshots, all we've got to go on are GI's articles on how awesome it is. I wouldn't mind a handful of gameplay videos by now tbh, can only stand reading just text for so long.

I really want a white DS3, then I'll have a full compliment of controllers, and with a white one that says "this is mine, this is the one controller to rule them all. it's also the one that vibrates" and everyone else can have my Sixaxis. (which I got a double pack dirt cheap when the DS3 first came out)

From what I'm reading, the new site design is their mobile site. Apparently we all have 10"+ phones. (When it was introduced it was as "iPad friendly redesign", so I guess the assumption is were on on Tablets now.) Also no more Twitter sharing, just Facebook. Also I mentioned this on Twitter but I'll repeat for you guys: Check the comments on the io9 articles. "Featured" is a single Featured comment. "All" isn't All, but is in fact just promoted and starred comments. Which I assume means Stars will now see greys like they currently do with pinks. Also on a fair few articles to actually see comments you have to actively click a "show comments" link in the first place. Community certainly taking a back seat in the redesign. Also looks like it's a manual bookmark for folks wanting to go to Speakup n such. Despite adding tags like a year or so ago still no Tag Cloud, which you'd of expected with the addition of tags. It's like adding comments but no way to register.

No, they actually run betas pretty often, like sometimes a couple a month. Just small tweaks before general release. Rarely unstable too, so always worth checking for any new betas and hopping on before the rest of the pack.

I visit to watch trailers and mostly EpicBattleAxe (which technically I could watch on their own site a day or two earlier, but I prefer GT's player) The review's are worth watching cos they have footage to go with what they're saying (something we're going to try with PXOD, just getting capture stuff set up is a pain), the scores, like most game reviews, are ignorable. Invisible Walls and Bonus Round are entirely skippable unless, especially IW, you feel like having a rage day. Escapist is the place to go for original VG video content.

Okay now re-reading the fact Faiblesse mentioned B-movies, does kind of clash with the Starship troopers thing. Cos while it may of been shit, B-Movie it was not. Still, I'm not understanding the connection between those and whether or not PCF have actually come out n said why the dialogue is the way it is.

Smokers are free to poison themselves, but they have no right to do the same to other customers or workers. Business however do have a responsibly to provide a safe and healthy working environment for employees and customers. So no-smoking > smoking in a legal sense, and tbh it's pretty amazing it's taken so long for bans to start cropping up since we've known about the toxicity of smoking for nearly 50 years now. (though maybe it's only recent the potency of second hand smoke has also been realized) You're still free to smoke at home or out in the open. Glass half-full.

Nope. Had a drag on one of my gran's cigarettes when I was little. Under my mums encouragement. She obviously got what she wanted. All the smokers in my family have now quit, either from having kids or heart attack etc. Apart from my aunt who still has one every now n then. Personally I'm quite fond of the smoking ban, if someone else wants to kill themselves, fine by be, but I'd quite like them to not involve me in that. This weekend had to explain what a pipe was to my little sister and how it works. I think she got the concept (My gran has a russian ornamental one on her shelf, sister was curious)

Yeah, while normally I'd begrudge a change to a books plot, especially the ending, it does kind of fit a bit better. I have a feeling that the books ending wouldn't of gone down as well as the films.
