Came across this while browsing Tumblr for Dishonored stuff: -

Didn't see this at first.

I just finished Dishonored: got the "high chaos" ending. The game is a damn stellar image of how to thrust your game into the whirlwind of releases and truly stand out. Not only that: it's a damn remarkable way to start a new IP. It's done right as far as I'm concerned. Alternate history 17th century with a fleshed out and wonderfully realized setting—both through visual design and lore? Yes. A delightfully orchestrated and true play as you like approach to advancement also gets a thumbs up from me. And as a misanthrope it takes a great deal of narrative artifice to make me regret sowing chaos and summarily slaughtering everyone I come by. Dishonored accomplished as much swimmingly. Enough that I felt genuine anxiety toward the end of the game, genuine what-the-hell-have-I-done lamentation. Generally, I would scoff and rattle something about preachy writers; it isn't even the case here. That, people, is a thing, a thing worth noting. I'm itching to start the game anew and achieve the "good" ending. I'm going to admit here that I was wrong in condemning Bethesda for charging 20% more for Dishonored on PC. Not because I think the practice is warranted or anything but underhanded. I was wrong in nearly refusing to purchase the game because of it. Sometimes ideals can be a damn curse. I also enjoyed the credits song: tl;dr *gushes*

Fair enough. I suppose I just don't like Assassin's Creed games.
-
Yeah, I don't agree with several complaints. Namely: blink, easiness, and amount of missions/length. Blink: it fits the game. This isn't Assassin's Creed. You're meant to be mobile. Easiness: I wouldn't say the game is too easy, and I'm playing on normal (whatever that means). Is it hard? No. But difficulty does not make me happy just for the sake of difficulty. Missions/length: There's nothing wrong with brevity. This isn't a role-playing game. And honestly, it's not even that brief unless you're plowing through the missions pell-mell. If you're doing that, good luck finding very many lengthy games anyway. I will agree that the story could have been better. And I just really disagree with the whole likening it to Assassin's Creed when what I'm expecting is more along the lines of a more action-oriented Thief title.

If I'm using a character creator, I tend to make a female because I role-play within the role-playing. But do I think the option should be mandatory, or that not playing as a minority somehow detracts from a video game? That's silly. You shouldn't shoehorn a minority simply because. You should tell your story. Whether that stars a purple, pot-bellied people-eater is up those with the creative power. That said, there should be an option to play as the race/gender/sex you want if a game is offering customization in that respect. Though people should also take into consideration the work that goes into implementing these things. Of course, I'm not a minority. Apparently, I'm an unfeeling, privileged white male. Suffering, empathy and all facets of human emotion are beyond me because of that. So I could just be missing their plight. -

I just finished the so I'm not very far. But I'm still enjoying it. Is the stealth great? No. But I can deal with that. Overall the game feels like a new and pleasurable experience, and I think that's worth something presently.
-
Does the stealth get more difficult on higher levels of difficulty? I'm playing on normal and it's pretty easy to hide in plain sight.

Yeah, I've been playing with controllers nearly as long or longer than I have M&KB. First-person shooters, too; so it's not as though they're a foreign apparatus. WRT Dishonored itself: issues with controls aside, everything else is chirpsy daisy. I'm certain I could manage some complaints, but I'm pleased with what little I've encountered thus far. The setting is the most impressive, I'd say.

Dishonored and Borderlands 2, mostly. -
Even something like picking up items is troublesome. But yeah, I'm playing the aggressive route as I'm watching my wife play the sneaky route. I don't think an option of not playing a game a certain way really negates the issue, though. \: Suppose it's my fault for picking up a game with first-person controls on PS3 in the first place, though.
-
So I thought I'd buy a non-RPG PS3 game since it'd been some time. Huge mistake. I'd forgotten how horrible controllers work with anything that requires precise aiming.

I'm into seinen, but my back log is too ENORMOUS for average to have a place. >: I do remember seeing that patch lass on Tumblr for a while, though.
-
I'm just going to ignore the pony references. It's a neat class at any rate, and too bad it wasn't out for release. I don't know that I feel like buying it or starting over.

What are you reading right now?

Realms of Elves. It's an anthology by Richard Lee Byers, Philip Athans, Lisa Smedman, R.A. Salvatore, Ed Greenwood, Richard Baker and Erik Scott De Brie. I usually have like ten books checked out at a time, but I rarely get to all of them lately. :\ -

From Get Games (PC): 75% off Saints Row the Third and its DLC. 50% off Alan Wake. Saints Row the Third is easily one of the best games to have been released in 2011. If you like fun and games, you should buy it.

I would if their Canada deals were actually deals.
