  1. I guess I'm not the target demographic. My rantish thing from MSN:
  2. Abysmal VA aside (Jesus H. Christ), it's the story and characters. I guess I'm not the target demographic. My rantish thing from MSN:
  3. Finished Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2 (obviously). I don't know that I'll be finishing Tales of Graces ƒ at all.
  4. +1 for all the NieR love. I don't know that I'll ever get over that soundtrack. My entries: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSSEcgooY-I
  5. Yeah, I believe they require some method of initial verification.
  6. "12 additional fighters" I had no idea that many were locked. That is[/b] excessive.
  7. Well, I meant the collector's edition medallion. But I hardly ever used the medallion in-game.
  8. April 17th, the same day. Otherwise, I'd be flying to Poland to punch CD Projekt RED in the cunt. Though perhaps I should anyway due to that medallion...
  9. Been playing some of the ƒ since release. And by "playing some of the ƒ" I mean I've been churning that powerful dynamic like a ravenous boar-man! For someone with a general distaste for action RPG's, it's treating me fairly well. After nearly twenty hours of game time, I can say I'm satisfied with paying full price for the game (though I have listed the pre-order DLC on eBay for a considerable slice at what I paid). The pacing is a nice high-and-low, the combat doesn't confuse my dopey hands, I feel like I want to explore, and the characters do their part to engage me with an acceptable level of proficiency. It could be better, but overall, I think the $59.99 is justified. That said, the voices are repulsive. Sickening, even. Sophie manages to blow gently on my lobe, sometimes with a nibble alongside that smoky teasing. The dude with the scimitarang is voiced by Jamieson Price (Nier), so he is acceptable. The rest are an ear-blight. When I say this, people often assume I'm a Japanophile. Well, they can suck it. Why do I prefer Japanese voices in JRPG's? Because localization companies don't/cannot afford to spend cash on high-tier voice actors. There is no shout for purity there. You get mid-tier at best. English voices as a thing are not disagreeable: English-derivative games often illustrate this. Unfortunately, Graces ƒ suffers because voices feel forced or inappropriate.
  10. I started to read this thread and the first ten or so posts were, "Maybe I wasn't clear enough" back and forth. XD Regardless, I'm not very fond of DLC. In most cases it's duplicitous: you're not simply paying for something that was made after production. And if so, it's often something that wasn't included in production for the purpose of selling it later on. So I don't buy it. You'd think people who disagree with something would follow that mantra. Don't like it: don't support it. I'll admit to purchasing one or two items of DLC in the past, but I learned my lesson quickly.
  11. Just took a walk through the wetlands to pick up Tales of Graces ƒ. Installing game data... 53%. I hope I can overcome the lurid dub.
  12. Those you listed have fairly widespread appeal, so it's hard to gauge what you're into. >_< I'll list a few, and you see if any toot your torrid vein-thing. If you're looking for a bit o' pell-mell or goofiness, I'd recommend Cromartie High, Nichijou or Azumanga Daioh. Maybe The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya or Excel Saga. More laid-back and/or forlorn shows with a more adult appeal: Mushishi (<-- definitely that), Memories (OVA series), 5 Centimetres Per Second, Solty Rei. And some sundries: Serial Experiments Lain, Stranger and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Bakemonogatari. Maybe even Higurashi no Naku Kori Ni. Generally, I keep to shows that cater to a different audience. So I'm sure there are users here who could give you a more robust list. I'm usually off watching more bishoujo affairs. Anyway, I hope my paltry list is somewhat fruitful.
  13. @kenshi: Maybe you're approaching the wrong genres? There are plenty of less-than-horrid/prosaic shows out there. The majority of certain genres tend to lean toward a demographic, though. Regardless, it's good to hear you're a champion of sorts of NGE. <: Just don't ruin it with the new movies!
  14. IDOLM@STER anime was well beyond my expectations. Though being a game-to-anime transmigration, the bar was hardly insuperable. High touchie! Really would like to play the PS3 game, but the cost of importing that rascal is unacceptable.
  15. Been watching the IDOLM@STER anime, Yuru Yuri and Hidamari Sketch. Also have Denna Onna to Seishun Otoko, Papa no Iukoto wo Kikinasai and Nisemonogatari waiting. Dropped Mirai Nikki because the MC was too fucking shounen.
  16. @Dex: Was Blood of Elves the one with the female witcher?
  17. Idolm@ster SP (Perfect Sun version). Good stuff.
